all ferrets fight when they are put together as long as there is no blood drawn and you supervise them for the first few hours and check they are good with each other the first couple of days you can probably put them together
Yes sadly the cages are tiny but we aren’t too positive if they are kept in there all the time. He seems to interact with them very well and that they are in good health. So they do get exercise and get out.
@@Luca_Zanni these are likely hunting ferret's they get all the fun and exercise they could wan't when outside! Now I agree they cages are small and they could be bigger for there sake, but this is very common to keep hunting ferret's/minks in. Even professional's do it with a slightly wider/deeper cage. They deserve all the best but he seems like a good guy and he clearly loves them!
I agree... I 'm accually surprised that those two are not skin and bones alone... What he's doing to them is just plainly cruel, and no justice to the ferrets at all...
He seems to care for them quite a lot, and they do look healthy. But I still get slightly triggered when I see the cages they are in and filled with hay. Mine just live along with us in our apartment (big) and run freely around, when it's bed time we close the door to their room where they have an "open" cage(as in the front part is off), filled with soft blankets and snuggle hammocks.
Mine all have fleeces too, duvets in the winter and sheepkin rugs to line the bed area, and they love burying in there... they have a bed more cosy than mine 😂
Nathan durbin ferrets that fight aren’t making them bond well. Second of all. If they play fight then that’s fine. But real fighting... no that will make them bond less more
You should work on them being in the same cage. They do so much better when living with another ferret. The bond very well. Of all the ferrets ive had over the years, about 8, none of them ever fought with each other. They liked to play but that was it.
Well said. Ferrets are NOT solitary natured, and fare much better with another one as company. It's fabulous watching them play together. However-at mating time in the spring, courtship and mating is very rough and aggressive- with the Hob (male) dragging around the Gill (female)by tbe nape of the neck for upto two days- before she finally submits to him. This all seems very nasty behaviour to an inexperienced keeper- but this is NATURAL ferret breeding behaviour.
My sentiment exactly... They should be together, and not apart... Ferrets Belong together, and not apart... Give them a chance to get along, before giving up on them so soon.... He should keep trying and see for himself....
I have a ferret but I keep him in a big 4 story cage with lots of toys, and blankets and a hammock. I thought they wasn't supposed to be exposed to light for to long they like it dark. But I will say your ferrets do look very healthy.
a man in our town had a couple of ferrets and he used to supply " ferrets leavings " ( the milk that the ferret leaves behind and doesn't drink ) to mothers with young babies that had whooping cough , was a great cure , you ever heard of it George ???
They are working ferrets. They are used for rabbits. They have to have a strict diet or they get fat. Do they look unhappy, bored, ill? NO! If you don't understand ferrets which are workers, don't bother commenting.
Ferrets on kibble **NEED** to have food available 24/7. Those cages are also quite small. Water bottles often chip ferret teeth, use bowls. Ferrets are social animals, why not introduce those two and then keep them together instead of separated?
Just asking, kept ferrets as pets, is there a reason you do little food in their bowls? As in to control how much they eat at certain times? Because as your usual ferret owner, i just fill that bowl up untill its empty, and fill it again haha.
Yeah thats why i was confused, maybe there was another reason cuz i was always told by ferret shelters and breeders that you should always keep their bowl filled.
They’re not pets, well the ones he has anyway. He most likely uses them for hunting. I have a couple hunting ferrets and ones as pets. You’re right about having food in their bowls constantly, however hunting ferrets need to be kept at a certain weight and less food or else they’ll be too full to hunt (kind of like falconry, keep them a-little starved so they do their job in killing the pests.)
No ferret is poor tempered at heart! Clearly these two are very happy and don't apply, but some will! My dad got two ferrets before getting another three, and one of the first two, Ronny, was the larger of the two and more agitable. He would constantly nip and writhe around while handling. He did this for a while but after continuing to be handled often, he was taught not to aggressively bite and is now very sweet and loves cuddles.
This is not a hate comment but simply a way to make your life easy or a helpful tip) I've had ferrets all my life and I had two ferrets that wouldn't get along, it got to the point where i would have to either make them get along or get rid of one. I decided to have someone I knew hold Snicker while i held the jasper and i slowly moved them closer, I knew what they would do so i didn't let them touch each other. The next week i let them play but separated by a baby gate. Now they run around the house and they cant be separated
there 2 male ferrets course there fight its cos theve come of age an matured if they not had there nuts off then there fight. but there working ferrets as he said not pets an its said that ferrets live better on there own not being social animals as were all lead to believe =)
I’m new to this channel so if you already talked about it sorry... Why are they outside what about the fleas and rain and snow? Do you bring them inside when it rains and snows or in bad weather like that
When u said savage at 50:00 you sounded like chief bogo in zootopia XD In that scene when Judy hopps was like “I thought so too... UNTIL I SAW THIS!” “The savage jaguar”? I watch zootopia too much BUT U GET IT, RIGHT? XD
TheTaterTotP80 They aren't pets. They are used for hunting. He doesn't overfeed them as he needs them at a certain weight! Do they look skinny or unhappy? I think not. They do get other food, water is changed daily and they come out for play sessions and walks.
@Panic!, they hunt rabbits, you set up nets over the rabbit warren holes in the ground. Send the ferrets down under ground and they chase them out. You’d never believe that those fluffy hotdogs with legs are natural hunters until you see them at work.
Gregg Hill hunting.. rlly? Ferrets are for pets! If u want to hunt he should do it himself and not using animals for hunting. And I have a ferret. And those cages are way too small. And should be left out for atleast 3 hours to play around outside the cage.
Do you know any tips on finding a lost house pet ferret? Mine is gone and has been gone a whole day, I know they sleep up to 18 hours but I checked all his sleeping spots
He has them for rooting out rabbits from dens. They ate meant to be a bit nasty that. And I bet he feeds them twice daily, they wouldn't be that stout on one feed a day. And they probably get extras off of their "kills". These aren't necessarily pets, these are hunting animals.
lol i miss my ferret Cirano they really would be the best pets if they didn't stink and shit in every corner lol, i enjoyd your vid subbed up cheers and lovely setup
My ferrets love to cuddle and sleep together. Sure they play fight sometimes when they are out, but you can tell they aren't trying to hurt one another.
