STROBE NOTICE: Hey everyone. I made a mistake with this video. The effect that I used to distort the music video for copyright protection has a repetitive bright flashing light in it. I was not aware of it when editing as my computer stutters when I add heavy effects and I am in such a hurry to get these videos out by Christmas that I didn't preview it. I am always trying to find ways to protect myself from copyright blocks while making the video visually interesting. I just missed the mark on this one. Please be aware and know that I will make sure this doesn't happen again.
There's a story behind the concept for this video that they shared in their behind-the-scenes video. They had to change plans on the fly because Kirstie was sick on the day they planned to film. The guys filmed alone as the party guests, and Kirstie filmed on another day, playing the Christmas Fairy who made the "magic" of the party play out. Not bad improvisation!
I'm not sure they were technically whistle tones. They were definitely in her head voice, as opposed to the rest of the song which was definitely performed in mixed voice or belted. 🥰
@@AlishaYouch Agree, I don't think those were whistle tones either, just very high head/falsetto. I've watched the old videos of Kirstie and Mitch doing whistle tones, and they have a pretty distinctive tone to them. I'm not 100% how whistle tones are produced, is it even the same physical mechanism that you use to produce normal singing tones?
They (Kevin and Kirstin) wrote this in their songwriting "camp" in Nashville....where I live 😊 She was sick the day they filmed, so they added the "Magic Christmas Fairy." BRILLIANT!! A PTX magic fairy song. ❤
*laughing* Everyone loves the puppies! There is a behind the scenes video, that you may want to watch for yourself. For me, the set-up of this video is very similar to PTX's Thank You (written by Scott and his husband Mark during the Pandemic).
This song (well, the whole album) has been on repeat this whole month! Even my 16 yo daughter jams to it and put it on her playlist! If I may offer a bit of feedback. I know you have to cover or distort the videos, and I don't mind that at all, I'm here to watch your reaction! However, the effect you used here actually made me a bit nauseous, even from peripheral vision, and I had to cover that side of the screen with my hand. It may be similar to flashing lights or something like that, which can affect some people. I love your reactions, just wanted to let you know that may not be the best effect to use. ❤️
I've seen other reactors color shift the video, which looks odd, but passes through the "video block" portal. Another technique is to us a screen capture of a portion of the video as an overlay -- perhaps 30 to 50% brightness, or even the album cover to obscure the video performance. We pentaholics have seen the video and whatever technique you use that doesn't strobe is OK. We're here for your comments to enlighten us and allow us to hear in a different way.
@@chrisabel1833 I understand. I’m always trying to find what works best. In my editing program I didn’t notice the flash of bright white because it stutters when I add effects. I went and watched it after your comment. I will make the adjustment to prevent that in the future.
