got the Motor for this season, used it for the first time yesterday, loved it ! :) Great for getting to your spot then cutting back over to the Pedal drive (manual mode), this worked like a charm :)

This was a good review, and overlook about the kayak 🤝🏼. Thats is honestly a awesome kayak, that is very upgradable over time without having to shell out all the money upfront if you're on a budget, so that a ++ imo. Thanks for the review Big Dawg, and until the next one ✌🏼

Really thorough review Lucas! Amazed by the storage on that yak. Really digging it, as my AP136 doesn’t have much organized storage space. And the power pedal drive is also crazy impressive 🔥

Great review Lucas. Love the power pedal drive. Slick design for sure. Very simple. I know we talked about this before, I don’t understand why they put the drain plug so high on these yaks. One thing you didn’t mention, how does it paddle? I fish a lot of shallow stumps and sometimes I paddle most of the day. Just curious.

How does this compare to the Lifetime Teton 100 Angler, though? 😂 Great review, man. I’d definitely consider something like this if I ever upgrade. That battery compartment is nice and I like that spring loaded transducer in case you run into something shallow. You trailer it? I thought you were a big, tough lineman. DYEL, Bro?

Thanks for watching! It’s a great boat! I’m trying not to be so hard on my stuff and the kayak is 13 ft so a trailer is just a must. Actually a lot more convenient as you already know.

As a new person to kayak fishing, i am looking for one. I am at a point of deciding between a few brands. FeelFree (lure11.5), Jackson (bite), native (10 to 12 footer), and or maybe Old Town. There are features from each that i like. I don't have or know of a spot to demo some. I went to a few stores and put hands on FeelFree and Jackson. I really like pedal drive of the Jackson. The seat, wheel, and layout of the FeelFree. I plan on going to another dealer that is 1.5hr away to look at more. Maybe they will let me demo one or two. Oh yes Vibe is another I like

Welcome to the sport brother! Your doing the right thing by taking your time to select the right boat. All that you mentioned are great for sure. It’s all about personal preference and that’s the beauty of kayak fishing! Thanks for stopping and watching!
@tonik342
@tonik342 5 месяцев назад
Old Town literally just won an award for a similar concept with a much better design. The peddle drive design on the new line of Feelfree kayaks was a HUGE oversight. I love my Feelfree Moken. I will never get rid of it, but where do I go from here? I would like to upgrade to a pedal drive or motor platform, but the Feelfree drive is literally the loudest drive in the industry. First it was their track systems, and now this.
@TheOutdoorConquest
@TheOutdoorConquest 5 месяцев назад
Honestly….if you want to upgrade for a motor yak go with the AP 120 or 136. I own one and it’s the cream of the crop. I definitely will be keeping one of my feel free pedal drives also though
@tonik342
@tonik342 5 месяцев назад
@@TheOutdoorConquest thanks for the suggestions. The PA is getting a lot of bad reviews lately. They're under new ownership apparently. The Autopilot 136 or 120 would be incredible. I'm also considering PWR129.
@TheOutdoorConquest
@TheOutdoorConquest 5 месяцев назад
@@tonik342 the issue with the pwr129 is you have to add to it. The AP comes ready to rock, no need to add a motor and a bunch of extra wiring to for it. It’s turn key.

Still love the Dorado ? Iv heard a few command issues with seat have you experienced this ? The Dorado was my first choice now I’m considering the AP136 or Titan X but keep going back to the Dorado it seems solid and best bang for the buck I would want the motor also my only hesitation is the redesign of the motor I heard it’s out but not available and will it work with the 12v system any idea ? Thanks man great video iv watched 3 times lol

Exactly. I love my throw and go kayak as well. You might like the feel free lure 11.5 V2 I also did a review on it. If your looking for throw and go and the most stability possible I’d recommend the 3 waters Big Fish series. I used to fish out of the 108 and miss it honestly!

@TheOutdoorConquest Год назад
@@stevesafety6743 the Lure 11.5 V2 might be right up your alley then. It also has the wheel in the keel design so if you don’t have to drag it more than 50-75 it makes it nice. The seat is removable but it is a little involved to do so. The pedal drive comes right out though

$2,699 kayak then + $1400 for the motor that’s $4100. I rather pay the extra $300-$400 for the old town sportsman autopilot. I like my feel free moken 10pdl but if I were to upgrade it would be Old Town.

What are your thoughts this kayak or the old town autopilot.. i really like all the plug in play options in the feelfeee
@TheOutdoorConquest
@TheOutdoorConquest Год назад
I have a buddy that fished from the OTAP and he likes it. I think it looks like a solid yak for sure. This is why I chose the Dorado was the plug and play….and I prefer a pedal drive BUT if you wanted a motor to cruise around spots on the lake you can easily add it to the Dorado with the power drive motor. I’ve been running the motor drive for about a month now and my only complaint is that it’s loud….but again I only use it to go spot to spot and then use my pedals to move about the spot and reposition myself. The plug and play and removable battery box are really what sold me on this boat and I’ve been extremely happy with it.
@357mikec
@357mikec Год назад
@TheOutdoorConquest the pedal drive with the optional motor is something I really like about it, my original idea was to get a better peddle drive kayak, I currently have a hoodoo tempest and I want to upgrade.. but my original thought was to get a pedal drive and put a motor on it.

@TheOutdoorConquest
@TheOutdoorConquest 10 месяцев назад
Yes occasionally. Once enough builds up I remove one of the back flush mounted rod holders and shove a shop vac down in there to clean it out. It’s easier than trying to drain it out the drain plug.
@somewherefishing382
@somewherefishing382 10 месяцев назад
@@TheOutdoorConquest do you know how the water gets in ? I’ve been watching videos and it seems others are having this issue as well. I’m confused on how a sealed kayak lets water in. I have the v2 as well and haven’t experienced this nor have I with the V1 but I’ve seen videos where others are saying that they are having to clear water. I take mine in the ocean and I get waves over the bow and I’m not getting water just trying to make sure it’s not going to be an issue because I take mine in the Pacific Ocean and it’s relatively cold.
