I did an audible gasp when you said “im watching Gilmore Girls….for the first time”. It’s such a classic, I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for the video Ruby
Yes, it makes perfect sense she would be a Gilmore Girls fan, but I never thought of it before she said it now! She's literally the English version of Rory. Also I am the same as Ruby in how I watch series like GG, as in, one episode at a time. She's watching one per night. I watched the entire 7 seasons of GG during Lockdown 1, at a rate of one episode per night (maximum two sometimes).
I am the same but my family all like Summer so they are all very miserable which, in turn, makes me miserable. I also enjoy winter but my family hate winter too. Is anyone else’s favourite season autumn or winter, I feel like everyone else (apart from Ruby) loves summer (my least favourite season).
@@Coffee_Is_Life_2010 Autum is my favourite time of year. All those wonder colours like Rusty Reds, Burnt Orange and Greens. I love wearing Autumn clothes like Jumpers boots Corduroy trousers and i love the nights drawing in early. I read more this time of year too.
hey Ruby, I'm currently doing a bachelors degree in my native language (German) but the masters programme is going to be in English. To prepare for that I'm taking a course on academic writing and presenting in English and our teacher has mentioned loads of writing conventions that are different in the English speaking academic world. So now I was wondering if you have ever considered making a video where you analzye one of your academic texts from uni that you're particularly proud of. Not nessessarily about the content itself (though i would be interested in that as well) but more so writing tips and smart ways to handle certain types of texts. Am I making any sense? I'd love to watch a video like that to be able to learn more about academic writing from someone who has just recently graduated. Thanks for reading all this, Jo
Best thing is to read a lot of texts from your field and analyse the texts how they are structured, how they pose or answer questions, how they describe problems or results. At some point you may find a few authors whose writing style you really like and you can try to find out why you like it and how you can copy their style (not their content of course). A lot of native English texts are difficult to read because they use a lot of unnecessary fancy words, whilst non-native English texts are difficult to read because the structure of the sentence isn't quite right. So I would focus more on the structure and correct grammar and not trying to squish in words that nobody understands. But yeah, in short: Read, read, read and then write, write, write
Hi, I'd say read a lot in the field of your study in English. There is some lingo in every field that you will just have to commit to memory And write in shorter more compact sentences than u r used to .
An episode every night...Ruby, your patience never fails to amaze me. I watch Gilmore girls for the 1st time last month and binge watched all the 7 seasons in a week and half
Love Gilmore Girls! And fun fact, Alexis Bledel who played Rory didn't like coffee so in most scenes she's actually drinking Coca-Cola 😅. Such a cosy video! 😍💕🧡🍂Xxx
this is the best crossover to exist! your videos and rory from gg kept me so motivated/romanticized studying during covid and I enjoyed learning so much during that time so thank you and happy watching :)
I have several playlists of Rory's study montages for inspo, plus a list of the most lit- and study-heavy episodes for this time of year! Along with coffee coffee coffee.
@@DS-uh6ss Omg cool. Are your playlists public on Spotify? :) I'd love to look into them! And what episodes have you written down? I have watched Gilmore girls a thousand times but have never actually written down particularly inspirational episodes. 😊
Where I'm from there are barely any distinctions between seasons like it is in England. I was fortunate enough to do a year abroad in Durham from last September till July this year, and for the first time I understood the beauty of autumn and could appreciate the feeling of "renewal" when I saw leaves turning orange. It was really sad leaving that kind of environment but your channel has helped me to be more positive and appreciate any little things in life🧡
Who finds Ruby more expressing and smiles more often after she graduated? You are doing a great job!! I think you would have done great if you lived in a more "literature" era ♥️
Ruby, your Gilmore girls outfits are soooo beautiful!!! I love the white sweater and I’m thinking about buying it, too. Autumn is my favorite season and your room looks really autumnal!
A cozy, oversized fisherman's sweater is a classic! Mine is almost 15 years old now. If you can manage it, an LL Bean sweater will still last you for a good chunk of life.
Everytime I watch ruby go though her day, I just find myself incredibly excited to work, to learn new things, to be present and mindful, to write, to be creative with my space. For example, recently I started giving hand written cards with gifts to family and friends which I thought would be an endearing gesture and they were so elated to receive it. It made me so happy. Also made a notion template to deposit the new things I learn each day. Thanks to ruby i'm enjoying these new additions to my daily routine.
This type of lifestyle fascinates me, I grew up on a council estate constant arguing in my family and education was never really something I was able to prioritise you really motivate me to work harder cause this is life I want just peaceful and with nature
I'm having a bit of an off day and this afternoon I was just thinking; It would be so lovely to come home and see that Ruby has uploaded a new video. And guess what, she did :) To make things even better, Gilmore Girls is one of my favorite shows, so you definitely made my day Ruby, Thank You!
this is one of my favourites of your videos!! Gilmore girls, everything cozy, a hint of exploring and productivity AND a short and sweet book haul!! all the best things ❤
I used to watch Gilmore Girls episodes over and over again while trying to get through pharmacy school. I owned the entire dvd collection of the 7 seasons. I absolutely LOVED this show. It was a part of my life during those years 😥
Your room look looks cozy. Your decor has a nice balance between a place to rest and a place to work. I like the lamp and desk set up the most. If I may, it is a good practice to wash bedding that comes out if the package before putting on the bed.
ohh i am so jealous you have the chance to experience the "magic" of the gilmore girls for the first time D: The orange striped shirt suits you sooo well and how can you possibly find nearly the exact same sweater Rory wore in ep. 1 I'm literally looking for one for YEARS. As always a very cozy video
you know the feeling of lying in bed, remembering every embarrassing incident in your years on earth? Noam Komsky will be added to that list and it's not even my burden to bear💀
Ruby, I love your videos and really enjoyed this last one too. I wanted to ask you, if you could consider one day filming a video about all letter writing supplies that you have or that could be used for writing letters. I want to know more about it in depth ❤
The actress who played Rory didn’t like coffee either. All of her cups of coffee were a cola beverage to maintain the color for the camera and allowing her to avoid coffee!😁
Quite a lovely aspect of life in the glimpse of time you have shared with everyone! You are full of mirth throughout the blessed days we're given. Have a great day with countless more to come!
I love autumn and The Gilmore Girls! So this was a very enjoyable, cozy vlog! 😊 It’s great that you keep on learning after your degree, so inspiring! Also, after whatching your videos, all I want to do is rush over to a book store and buy all of them! 😅 Take care Ruby! 🤗
You remind me of myself at your age. I read all the British classics and lived in the library. You have so much enjoyment ahead. I don’t read much now. Not sure what happened. Perhaps I just ran out the things I really chimed with?
💛📚✨Great video, Ruby! There are some striking parallels between that show and my life that have always made it very near and dear to my heart. Slightly off topic, but… Based on your previous “I tried living like…” videos, have you ever thought of doing a version of that series focused specifically on writing (“I tried writing like…”)? If you’ve ever read books like Mason Curry’s “Daily Rituals” or Harry Bruce’s “Page Fright,” there are so many interesting ways writers approach writing and as an aspiring writer it might be a fun creative exercise and opportunity to learn more about your own process? Just a thought!
For Gilmore girl fans there’s a series of articles called Gilmore women where two journalists (big GG fans) breakdown the episodes and talk about some things that haven’t aged well etc. Theres literally an article per episode! It might not be the best for someone enjoying it for the first time as there is a danger of spoilers and you might not want to influence your opinion, but for those of us with a long history of rewatching the show it’s great fun to read. Love the autumn vibes
You found GG!!! That’s amazing. I’ve been a fan since it first aired from 2000-2007! I still re-watch the show every year. Would you be open to talk about it? Doing a video? BTW, I just bought your planner PDF and it’s a life saver. Cheers!
I've never watched it but loved the video. It made me feel so cozy! By the way, bought a few of the books you recommended in a previous video and I've really been enjoying them! The Binding was gripping, and I'm halfway through Cat's Eye which I'm also really enjoying. Got Lenny next. 😊
I did find it cosy! I've missed your vlogs! It's crazy but up until last week I'd never ever heard of the book 'Three men in a boat' and just last week my bookseller, who knows my preferences, recommended it to me, shocked that I'd never read it, and I started reading it. It's absolutely hilarious so far. And now... I see it here! Beautiful video, Ruby :) Thanks. Have a great weekend, wherever you are. xx
I recommend reading the myth of sisyphus alongside the outsider because it’s the philosophical essay that goes alongside the fictional story . The outsider is like the philosophy put into a situation or context.
Hi Ruby ... don't get rid of your things ... they are yours ... that hold special value to you that no one will understand ... just find a unique way of storage Lol ... I know you can do it Lol ... 👍👍👍
