Sugar is the number 1 thing that causes me cravings. Through sheer willpower I managed to go almost 3 weeks without it and my hunger went down by a lot, but I struggle to not eat sugary foods.

I have been on a one meal a day diet for 25 days now. I only eat at 6:00pm and I'm losing weight, resetting my hormones and feeling really good. With my one meal I have a salad, meat and vegetables and a dessert so i don't feel like im missing out. 12-6 is the most difficult time to endure because my grehlin is high but i stay busy and keep telling myself I'm going to eat at 6:00. After my one meal I'm full with high levels of leptin and ready to go another 23 hours without eating. It works but finding the best time for your 1 meal is key last year I tried this by only doing lunch and failed because evenings were misery because I would get hungry and gonto bed hungry but the difference with a 6:00 meal time is im full all evening and go to bed still full not hungry but ive had a few hours to digest my food so I still sleep well. Its working for me.

@@paulacaraway5329 I put 1/8 teaspoon salt into 8 ounces water - almost tastes sweet. I may have a cup of coffee. Sometimes a sugar-free drink of other electrolytes.

@@paulacaraway5329 water no artificial sweeteners but I have been taking 100mg of caffeine at 9:00 am and then at 1:00 to have energy so I can last until 6:00pm

@@paulacaraway5329Try one bottle a day of a good naturally carbonated mineral water high in mineral content. This would be in addition to regular spring or purified water. ‘Gerolsteiner’ from Germany 🇩🇪 comes to mind. It’s carbonated so it helps with satiety and very high in trace minerals. One bottle contains 45% of the RDA for magnesium and calcium and a host of other trace minerals which you simply cannot get from Himalayan salt. (A big marketing gimmick). It’s on the expensive side which is why I only drink one bottle daily. $2.29 at Trader Joe’s is the best price I’ve found. San Pellegrino is also good, it does taste better, it’s also naturally carbonated but not as high in minerals .

Fascinating! Before I started supplementing with better forms of magnesium, I used to crave chocolate after each meal. After taking the good magnesium, I feel full after a meal, and mostly only crave dark chocolate the week prior to my period.

Solution: Eat real food No fructose Low carb diet Don’t eat at night (not after 3 hours bevor sleeping ) Eat more protein, fat (good quality) Stay aktiv ( helps against Lapton resistent) Sleep 8-9 hours Avoid stress

Awesome info. Back to the basics and what should be common sense. It's great that science is continuing to evolve. Hopefully the current doctors will get the message. What is your opinion on cholesterol? My brother in law is being put on meds to lower his levels. I have some bio hacker friends that say this is not necessary and detrimental?

I have watched other Medical & Non-medical experts explain this without the long rambling and they stated solutions in summarised simple language. They all said the same things as Dr Hyman but in more detail and much shorter videos - here I skipped 8 mins to get to the actual content I wanted to know then got bored after just 2 mins where he said things I already knew through 25 words, 3 sentences instead of 1 concise sentence with 10 words like others I have heard say it. I say this to you Dr Hymen, so that you can improve your videos and gain more views, because we all need the truth & best nutrition advice in order to be a healthy population and not corporate lies. Thank you for your contribution to good health I will try watching your other videos too like interview with Calley Means.

That is so true Dr.Mark. Both of the hormones regulate our system . It is eady ro mess them up, but harder yo put them back in order.

Doc! You neex to put out book or preferably lots of RU-vid info out for the folks suffering the most....i.e., those of us living on less than $100, 000 or better a year. I love you but trying to live on about $14,000 a year and work hard to stay well. Walk any day itz not raining,do resistance training 3 days a week, air squats and pushups when not using weights, take D3, Mag. Glycinate, a supplement for eyes, B12....Also prioritize protein, eat non-starchy veggies.... still having a problem reducing visceral fat. Also....take creatine, protein powder when I am short on leucine, and take collagen for several reasons! Still hike 100 miles or so every spring/summer. Average 7 hrs sleep. Don't know what else do at my income level. Can't afford expensive foods like grassfed and finished and other expensive foods.... Help us, for a change, please!

Start by growing some of your own food - even apt living u can grow veggies etc in containers.

Massage is great medicine for all hormones! Lowers cortisol, and I bet increases leptin resistance.

I stop eating after 5 pm to give my body a break. Then start up the next day at 6 am.

How long is considered too long to wait between meals? Is five hours before getting hungry again too long or is that ok? How fast is the stomach supposed to drain after eating a high protein meal?
