I made a hot 5 medley of some more of my favorite Bass Lines from Fela Kuti. The master and father of Afrobeat music.
This is one of my favorite styles of Bass Playing. The main grooves are not SUPER difficult. The real challenge is hanging on to that groove for 7-10 minutes without changing a note or losing your place with all of that music happening around it. Polyrhythm at its finest.
You have to be very unselfish when playing this music and let your Bass line be part of the collective. All songs have tabs included. Once you learn the riff, just hold down the groove and you can play along to the tracks for HOURS of fun!
If this video is successful, which I hope it will be, I plan on doing a part 3. Let me know if you have any Fela favorites in the comments and I'll try to include those in Part 3.
