Felder F3 Making Support Fixing for Aigner and Felder Extensions 

Son did an awesome job on those new supports!! Having a metal worker in the house is great!!

Super handy to have the attachment dimensions for these table extensions. Since my panel saw is sold I need extensions for the bandsaw. By the time the dust settled 4 of the Aigers would be at least 3K here in the colonies. They have a really good system and some of the bits and bobs are priced Ok. Thanks mate!

Very clear and concise video. Aigner does make a mounting rail for sliding tables. It slides out of the way when you want to use your sliding table. They sell a left and right version. Cheers !

Felder does make a 300MM aluminum extension table of which I have adapted to my band saw and use on longer pieces at work on the Felder FD250 bore machine. Weight is nice with the alum Felder extension. You will be eating cheese sandwiches for a while due to the expense, but, that is what dreams are made of. haha Get some white oak QS wood and make those brackets out of that. My vid shows how I adapted those extensions to a band saw table. I had ordered those cast iron Felder table extensions for a lesser Felder model and now have them on a Format4 Profil454 shaper. I got the longer Aigner fence sections and that handles most of my larger run arc shaping work. It was months of cheese. She chose to eat her native foods in those times. I can stretch a can of tuna for days.

Be aware that Felder, on the larger shaper Format 4, Does not have an overload element in the electronics so if you bog the drive it burns up. In the US it's a $20 part you can add to avoid this problem with power feeders and such. You can find the part on some electronic sites and just add it yerself. I thought the drive motor had gone but no; it was in the shaper electronics. If you add the Aigner fence and give those aluminum fences to the neighbor's dog; you will be forever safer and more flexible in running a variety of cuts. The Aigner stuff is costly at first but then you realized just how good their engineering is. Felder offers the Aigner fence over in the US but only the shorter length model so you may want to pay a little more and get the longer fence system at brand X. There are all sorts of Aigner fence add-on wedges and stuff that will open doors to the impossible using the regular Felder stuff. You don't have to tell the wife what it costs just be calm and do make the purchase. We all must admit that the shaper is the most dangerous machine in the shop. One accident on the shaper can equal 3 Aigner fences $$$ and take you out for months and then there is the fact you may not be able to continue using that hand the way nature intended so get the safety stuff now!

I have a question about the Aigner extensions, which I cannot take from the product pictures available on the web: Once you insert it into the gap that was created by installing the brackets I see that you lock a lever underneath the table. What does the leaver lock against? As far as I can see the only thing it could possibly do is to drive a bolt against the bracket. However if that's the case, wouldn't this require the machine table to be exactly at 90° angle (which my F3 is not)? Since locking the lever against the bracket will cause the hole extension to be pulled parallel to the the bracket. If the side of the machine is not at a 90° angle to the surface of the machine, this will result in non-coplanar surfaces. Or am I somehow making a mistake here? Sry for the confusion...

I noticed you have upgraded your spindle molder. How did you like the F3? Also, did you think adding the Aigner fence to it was worth it?

Those Felder extensions are relative short and expensive (IMHO). I have been wondering if could not be done in wood or MDF like an small torsion box with an adjustable feet support.
