Felipe Gustavo Secret 360 Flip hack is how he pops the board crooked and straight down. Felipe Gustavo calls it popping under and up. Felipe Gustavo tweaks his board and pops it down and forward. This allows Felipe Gustavo to pop his 360 flips really high into the air. Felipe Gustavo is one of very few that can pop 360 flip into ledge tricks. I hope this Felipe Gustavo hack helps you. After so blood sweat and tears i can say that Felipe Gusavo secret 360 flip hack helped me 360 flip up the euro.

The way you break down tricks (even ones you don’t have yet) are extremely helpful, and I’d consider them trick tips. One of your videos you interviewed someone and they said “try different things, even if you don’t think they will work.” That was huge for me. When I’m struggling with a trick that pops up in my brain to try it a different way. I appreciate the work you do with your interviews of Pros and how you look at tricks. Keep up the good content!

I don't think of it the same way as you described in the video, but I end up doing the Felipe Gustavo technique with this train of thought: - Set up back foot with toes hanging off the edge. - Focus on popping *down* with back foot, and the scoop comes naturally. If I focus on the scoop (i.e. do it too much sideways) I'll sometimes scoop and not pop, which causes the tre to be really low and over rotate the shuv. Also, to make myself have more of a front foot catch, I'll focus on popping *first* and then, when the tail hits the ground, activating the back ankle to push the board forward (i.e. toward the direction I am moving/leading shoulder). Think about the internal rotation of the foot for someone who is "pigeon toed", where there toes point in toward each other. The back foot will pop (toes down) and then the scoop is rotating the back foot into pigeon toed rotation (toes inward). So, I try to minimize the scoop from my knee and maximize the scoop from my ankle.

Hey Local Joe, I loved your video and the way you study skateboarding, I saw Felipe Gustavo competing in Goiânia/Go-Brasil in mini-ramp when he was 9, won and already with Switchstance well developed for his age. In the technique for 360Flip, what the elders taught us was, that instead of kicking back 3:35 pause (towards the butt); kick forward towards your front heel. Watch in slow motion F.Gustavo's movement kicking forward the 'tail' 0:01 (0.25 playback speed) and the back heel doesn't go towards the butt. Now look at the image paused at 7:13, and see all your leaning, you are pushing backwards, now look at the image paused at 6:55 and see how the back leg 'kicks' forward towards the front heel. My tip is to focus on the most upright posture possible and kick the 'tail' towards your front heel. 10:56 Man, you make people work their minds and weigh skateboarding and that's really cool, maybe get advice from Physiotherapists on Strengthening Exercises and Muscle Explosion, bring these tips to your channel, always remember to stretch and warm up, it helps to conserve the bones. I have operated on my knee three times before I am aware of 'warm up, strengthen and stretch' before and after each session.

Good tip. I've seen lots of people say the same thing -- scoop it diagonally. Towards front heel. Having trouble figuring this out though. From what I see when I watch steezy straight back leg tres in slow-mo is that people scoop the whole rotation almost entirely with ankle motion (their leg doesn't flex back at all like Joes does), with their ankle sort of rotating 'inwards', like Felipes. Nigel Jones has a video on it too. Do you have any more advice on scooping towards your front heel? Do you intentionally rotate ankle?

I don’t think you need to be “good enough” to do trick tips. Everyone does them differently and it’s all about giving another perspective ppl may not have thought about - what you share might be what helps someone finally figure it out. Been trying to relearn tres recently and how you described it here is really helpful and makes a lot of sense. Gonna give it a go and see how it works for me. Keep it up! 🔥

I think his technique has more to do with his board size he rides a 7.75 which usually has a length of 31.5 or smaller, tricks are a lot easier to flip at that size and which gives you more time to focus your foot placement for more pop, just my opinion

@@sk8mafia214 true to an extent I think your height and flexibility and shoe size is another variable people forget about, imagine being 6’1 size 11 shoe and flexible with a 14 inch wheelbase is much easier to play with compared to the person who is 5’7 with a shoe size of 8.5 I guess what I’m trying to say is you can copy someone’s technique but you need to work up to your skill and ideal board and I guess it’ll also depend of what you are trying to achieve trying to master flip tricks go start small and work your way up versus doing it the other way around and what I also meant by flexibility was your range of motion with your your hips knees and ankles that’s why in my opinion people should start out again with a 7.75 or 8 for a year or so but that’s just my opinion I’m a little obsessive with my skateboarding and how I keep and progress my skills

I kinda to the same thing with my pop shove it, And I could get them pretty high and what I’ve realized is puttin your foot higher up on the tail (farther away from the pocket) and I’ve just got used to popping the board straight down with a nudge at the pop and I rlly feel thats how u pop scooped tricks high and now I’m gettin a little more comfortable with tres and have done a few I’ve been applying that to it so far and it’s been I’ve noticed I’m gaining more control and getting the consistant full rotation

Felipe does his tres only with the backfoot and its pretty damn hard 2 explain .. he kinda scoop wit his backfoot an get with his backfoot toe under the board when it pops than he flip it with hit toe and get it up with his backfoot .. no flip with front foot at all .. we got a guy back in the days who does that g treflips .. those guys who treflip like this can treflip while standing with front foot on the nose or heelflip position the dont use front foot at all

This is 100% facts, glad to know Felipe Gustavo does 'em my way, lol. I've done all kinds of different tre flips throughout my years skating but this is the method that works best for me. Pinching the tail before popping makes it so the board is forced against your front foot, so you literally don't need to worry about the flick. As for hampering the scoop with your front foot, what also helps is have very little weight on your front foot and be standing more on the tip of your toes than having your full foot on. Only disadvantage to the no-flick, forward and upward-scooping tre is that it's much easier on smooth surfaces - gritty ground means you have more wheel friction to overcome with the scoop
@labamaia
@labamaia 2 года назад
Most important is that you have your toes really hanging off the tail. And if you watch Felipe you see he‘s pretty much doing them only with his ankles, whereas you tried to spin the board with your whole leg. It‘s also a tension thing, I figured out if I put a lot of tension on the pop spot even before I pop I get them faster and higher. Don`t know if that makes sense, but I taught a couple of people treflips before and the tension thing was a key to a lot of them. Other than that like you said, the tail has to hit the ground on that diagonal spot, pretty much 45 degres off the middle.

While you were explaining the motion for the tre flip I remembered something that almost perfectly resembles the technique that Felipe uses. If anyone has ever used a handboard and learned how to do cheater tre flips they’re basically this same idea you pop on the corner of the tail and you almost don’t even have to do anything to the board it’ll kinda just do the tre flip for you. Obviously that doesn’t completely translate to full size skating but just an observation

Kudos on every post Local Joe. I appreciate how anything can be applied when it comes to technique and tricks. That being said, *never* compare yourself with others skaters.(talking to up and coming skaters). Every (pro)skater has his special natural ability. Everything is within the details, from their physical attributes, weight, board size, to truck tightness. With time you will find what style and trick selection will compliment your ability and expression through a skateboard. Influence is great but to me embracing your uniqueness is greater than becoming a carbon copy. Enjoy yourselves in the next session 🦾.

I mentioned this in a previous treflip video and it seems you’re getting the idea down. Your scoop should be down and like forward/under you. This is what actually allows the board to come vertical off the ground to get the full spin, then you slide your front foot up, then flick away, and the board just flicks off your foot very easily the better the scoop. Notice how you said your focusing too much on spin the board rather than the actual pop, and it’s waste so much more energy. But your tre flips aren’t gonna look good or be consistent if you can’t figure out the pop/scoop. I have some RU-vid shorts on my channel of me doing some treflips, check them out and watch how I move my back foot, it might give you an idea

I have a pretty good tre too but I tend to curl my back foot under as it’s comfortable to me. I struggled with tres for a little while after switching up my technique. Now they’re back but I don’t recommend forcing a different style too much lol. The more you do it the more your style will show

One huge thing you missed is how Gustavo does his back foot after the pop - the corner of the ball of his foot and toe scoop under the board almost like the motion for an impossible - it’s borderline a cheater 3-flip. That’s how he gets the height, because he scoops it up higher on the side of the corner of the board! *Very similar to how mike mo would do the impossible flip.

it basically shows you must release your wiehgt of the board (ie. jump!) before scooping one foot standing tres are super izi no strength required because the board only requires it own weight as power to pop, once you stand on it, you have to counter YOUR own weight, the more you delay the scoop after the pop, the better the tre
