Thanks for posting this video. I sure wish I had all your equipment. My biggest problem is getting the log to my sawmill. A tractor would make life easy but it's not an option in my suburban back yard. I love seeing the freshly milled lumber you got - congratulations!
i should have been "liking" your videos long before now because i do enjoy them immensely. i watch them with an almost sort of envy at how you get to be on your own with your- hobby? working the land and creating such beautiful lumber for your house.
Really do appreciate the time it takes to keep changing the camera position and set up. That and the editing that goes with it all. You make excellent videos considering that’s not what your real purpose is!! Keep up the good work 👍
Those are some awesome boards and your sawing skills are becoming spot on. Glad you realized that undercut on the tree was too deep and your notch was started higher than necessary. Didnt need that wide of notch. These would have help prevent that long heart splinter you pulled. Over all though great job seeing that wood in your house will be very satisfying.
I'm surprised you didn't see any pine bettle damage. I have the same species of pine in my back yard and when I moved in I had to treat my pine trees as well as my neighbor's in order to save them. I still lost one but I have six years of new growth on those remaining and am hoping that they will stand for a hundred years to come.

Glad to see that you're having fun. A customer came by and picked up some lumber that hadn't been of the mill one hour when he got there. Anyway, as he was leaving he said "Have Fun." What else could I possibly do? I was sawing logs wasn't I? Just under 900 board feet of fun today. Ponderosa pine.
I just came across your site today very interesting. I too own a 3000 although my is gas and has a loader. Hear in Wisconsin we need beet juice or other non freeze for tire ballast. Keep on doing it. 😊
You need to make a arch shape hauler for the tail end of the log to keep from dragging the tail end of the log in the dirt, this will also make it easier to haul the log out of the brush.
The lt10 looks like a nice mill, do you find it difficult, as your cutting boards to get the mill to accurately give you 1 inch or 2 inch boards? It looks to me like you would have to sight down the blade, maybe even use a tape to set the cut height. Ergonomically is this difficult?
4 cuts and log was square . looks like there was a lot of waste. lots of tasks for bark planks great for holding Steele up . for spacers to dry your planks .Iadmire your strength doing it al yourself .

look like you were using a regular tape measure on those logs if you were grabbing a log tape with a stinger nail might make ur life easier especially when measuring long logs
