I am also quite impressed with your confidence in who you are to put out the fact you are a part of the queer community so easily. I am gay as well, so it warms my heart when others can be so confident. Kinda sad to hear you say you are lonely, I know NOTHING of the UK queer community, but since you are a handsome guy it just takes being visible to those in your community who are available. Luke, this was another great reaction! This was a really good episode. I'm expecting it to be a brilliant, but hard series to watch. I was a little kid in the 80's, but knew I was gay (though I didn't have a name for what I was). One of my friends and I were intimate for a good bit of my childhood, and when someone famous died of AIDS, in 1987, I just knew I had that disease and was going to die as well. So this show is bringing back those memories. It's amazing to think of how far the queer community has come since the 1952 start of Hawk and Tim's relationship. We tend to forget that when we hear of the current backlash the queer community receives from the far right and ultra religious. There are also those in the newer generations who know nothing of these struggles we've faced, and frankly, aren't interested in a "boring" history lesson. That makes me all the more happy to see you know your history. Thank you!

Luke, thanks for such a great reaction to this first episode. As others have mentioned, your knowledge of queer and American history is admirable. This looks like it's going to be a good series and I'll be watching your reactions to it. You mentioned "It's a Sin," which was an excellent show and really gave a feel for how it was during the time of the onset of the AIDS crisis. If you have not seen it, I very highly recommend the movie called "The Normal Heart." It's based on the play by Larry Kramer, and perhaps you've read the play. It deals with the onset of the AIDS crisis in New York. The cast, acting and direction are absolutely outstanding. Among many others, Matt Bomer and Julia Roberts are in it. Fair warning, it's not an easy watch at all, but I would absolutely love to see you react to it.

By the way, the actress who plays that secretary we al don’t like, is a queer youtuber called Keara Graves! I’m yet to come across a reactor who recognises Keara. Knowing it does soften the blow of the character’s actions, I must admit.

Thank you for your consistent use of 'queer' here - so often gay people forget that these are the same stories and struggles that bi, trans, etc. people also went through. I'm glad we're moving away from 'gay' as an umbrella term for the whole LGBTQ community.

I’m glad to hear you say you are gay. There’s hope for me yet! 😊 Matt Bomer is gay and is well respected in the acting world, which translates into public acceptance. Same for Neil Patrick Harris. If you want to see more of Matt, watch American Horror Story. His is a film of a play called “ Boys in the Band”. It has an all star gay cast. I can’t to see more of you!

You said “in what way are they dangerous to the country?” and basically McCarthy’s argument was that the fact that someone could be “blackmailed” was the reason that person was dangerous. So obviously (sarcasm) the solution was to blackmail people first. 🤦🏻‍♀️ So theoretically, if they had made it legal and accepted to be queer, it wouldn’t have been something anyone could get blackmailed for, which in turn would have made queer people not dangerous. But yeah. 🙄

Survival of the cold hearted. Hawk has no morals, ethics or feelings for anyone, but himself. He’s a user.
