Mariah has always had the most versatile and interesting voice to me. Not to mention the fact that she is an incomparable musical genius and songwriter.

1:10 what Gaga did pulling away from the mic, it was actually an appropriate intention and it's a sort of effect singers do when they're sustaining a note (commonly high), they slowly pull away the mic from their mouth to give off this fading effect with the note.

Mariah's voice is truly a gift from God. and pairing that with her amazing artistry (songwriting and producing), you get the amazing body of work that she has.

Some may not follow their own advice but I notice those who been in it longer most of the time follow their own advice. This also made me appreciate how keen their ear in musicality is. I noticed how great of an ear Jennifer, and Beyonce has and appreciated it. Its always great to see Legends like Celine, Whitney and Mariah giving advice cause you can learn from them.

Okay Gaga pulling the mike away wasn't bad technique, it's because she knows the power of her own voice, and when to pull the mike away to keep the sound as perfect as it should be. The fact that she could belt that song out and still perfectly be heard with the mike by her side says it all

Some of these "not following her advice" is actually just the experienced singer thoughtfully making exceptions to these rules. The advice is for less experienced singers to have a better foundation before they start messing with the rules.
