Well I will be honest. I'm a white male but the point is, she earns her money her way. If she does not want to help men, then she shouldn't have to. She will still earn her money with just females. It's her choices in her work. If a male wants therapy they can go somewhere else right? Idk why people would even attack her for this. What we think about it does not matter tbh. Anyone can get angry or be happy, but if she chooses to only help females then that is what will happen. IT IS HER CHOICE. Not anyone elses. Some men are so quick to be kicked in the nuts lol. Edit: It being the subject of healthcare makes it even more the reason for her to just help females, wouldn't you say? There are differences between the male and female, both body and mind. I can imagine therapy affects men and women differently, and this could be a great opportunity to find out how. How can the care be improved for women; instead of always how can the care be improved based on the male body and mind.

Ok let’s switch the word men with lgbtq do you think she would still have a license right now

@@Terry884Do the doctors of South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, Ohio and Illinois who legally have the right to deny LGBT people healthcare still have their licenses? Yeah I think the fucking do, clearly you are so desperate to be oppressed that you are making a whataboutism argument without even being educated on the fact that LGBT discrimination in healthcare is literally enshrined into law. Pathetic behaviour.

@Terry884 There are people who specialize and only work with lgbtqia+. There are those that only work with people with certain serious mental illnesses, some therapists only work with male clients, some therapists only work with children. This would not cause someone to lose their license, because they only work with a certain population of people.

@@Terry884 I am LGBTQ and yes, she should. Because it's her choice. We can also switch it up the other way around, for her to treat only LGBTQ. Do you think she would lose her license? No, because there are a lot of companies that are just for LGBTQ. So why shouldnt there be a company/care just for females?

it's so funny how only black men will be so ego-bruised and overly emotional and attack this woman therapist just because her harassment is possibly coming from mostlt black men men of other races are simply fine and have no problem with her decision and they respect her decision for not wanting male clients because of how they push her around

If this were ANY other field, I would understand. If it were a private business or local shop, I would understand. BUT it's Healthcare. You cannot make such statements.

I believe that you are lost in the sauce lady. If you've ever seen her online profile before she changed it, it stated she only see black men an women. So for her to say she no longer see men clients, means she doesn't want to see black men clients. But it's typical for a woman to defend another woman's bad behavior.

a better way to draw attention to the problem would have been to explain what you can and cannot talk about prior to consultation? the part where she says she's not seeing any male clients anymore comes across as an attack to some people. yes, they are extremely sensitive. welcome to the internet.

@@GenevieveGetsIt I think people are assuming that she is referring to black men because of how she has marketed herself previously and because she operates in Mississippi(over 30% black population). She may be licensed elsewhere though. I also believe that it was the framing that led to the uproar. Many ppl in those tweet threads felt like she judged an entire demographic based on emails she received. Personally, I know that therapists have niches and specialties. They had demographics that they relate to better than others. I personally would want a black therapist(man or woman) as my 1st choice based on my perceived relatability. If she was marketed as a therapist who specializes in or centers on working w women and didnt explicitly say why she didn't work with others, then I think the uproar online wouldnt be as intense. In the end I wish her well and wish that some ppl didnt use this as an opportunity to come for her job. This is a good example of why we shouldn't overshare especially as it relates to our professions. The change in her clientele should probably just be updated in places where her services are advertised. I work for a hospital and the downside for oversharing certain stuff is made clear during orientation and during annual training. No good can come from it. Look at the backlash those nurses got for their "icks" tik tok. No good can come from it. Thats all I got. I just wish everyone could discuss stuff civilly online. Those twitter threads got rough.

She says she gives therapy for african americans primarly , so yes she is talking about black men, you think white and hispanic and asian men are seeing her for therapy?

And this why the black community dies for stuff like this. I’ve seen the same therapist for 4 years and our first meeting went well. I tried a black woman when i switched jobs as my therapist wasn’t under my insurance and it wasn’t a good fit. I left without getting the advice on improvement of self or how to handle situations as she was trying get in the mess of it rather than fix it. So i went back to my guy and have continued to improve. What i see is men really asking how can you help me get better as a general question and her response as a healthcare worker is not what I’ve seen from many of the black female therapist that i reached out to. She does not represent the majority of black female therapist who generally want to help black men but she isn’t there for help it seems.

I want to add my 2 cents. She deserves the backlash. I am in the legal field and I will never put online that I would refuse such and such clients. Just say that you are busy or something. Also I have a professional license and I could get a complaint. She should have kept a mouth shut but she did that for clouts, for publicity (young black working women looking for a therapist) and to make herself feel good for 15 minutes! I hope it was worth it for her. (PS in my field there is a law article to forbids us to do any bad, derogatory publicity of the profession and the public).

Isn't this textbook discrimination? I understood is she said she didn't want to work with men who email her 1st and cause her trouble or headache but to say you won't work for men as a whole is discrimination. Ontop of her being in a field that SHOULD be teaching them how to be aware of your own implicit biases and how they affect her potential clients. I will not say that her feelings aren't valid and that she should have the right to protect her piece but ALL MEN arent the ones disrupting that so how is it fair to blame all men? She needs therapy to talk that out.

she is a joke as a therapist, her language " I aint the one etc" she hood as hell and hussled a therapy degree which are not hard to get honesly and she stupid not seeing black males is a horrible business decison non blacks rarely, rarely, rarely see black therapist and honestly how many modern black women want to get challenged on their foolishness so to me she either pandres to black women who want her validation or she has no clients she trash and a phony and not proffesional at all , what help could she povide a black man anyways, A black man needs advise from a black man not a black woman, would you send your son to this fool for therapy?
