Saying that Friedan was involved in radical leftist is absolutely wild, but it's probably because i'm not American, and view Liberalism as a centrist ideology instead as radical, i couldn't even imagine classing it as left. I additionally think that if anyone is using the book in 2023 as a feminist critic needs to open their sphere to other works, it's not relevant now, just as it wasn't relevant to anyone who wasn't upper-middle class women in the 60s.

There is something you missed with your summary, which would be all the criticisms from many well thought of social scientists, psychologists and health care professionals in the 1960's that were 100% correct in predicting the collapse of family values, of alienation and mental health issues which are so severe the homeless and suicide rates of young people along with all the variety of abuse/self abuse behavior taught and learned by women, having no or little regard for men or children who are second rate members of a feminist's capture of them like the sun captures planets or the world captures the moon. Sorry but the universe has never appeared to have women thinking the world revolved around their egos and everybody else needs to stay in orbit, or their own lane so she can be free to self actualize her potential as such was not to be found in having a family or being responsible for anybody else but her own feelings at the moment she feels. The Feminine Mistake is what all young women start b&chn about when the med are done, with no thought that the wall hits us all but it is brutal on those who need to bring home the bacon, cook it up in a pan, feed all the cats because no time for a man then leaves the mess for the other kind because they need a job that why the came all the way from out there to get where she was. The sheer volume of unhappy women on social media complaining of how they are unhappy with working, with men, with getting a degree in applied public complaining and they now feel cheated that they have to pay off student loans they took out to learn how to complain about income insecurity. So dang stupid with everybody being unable to call the overgrown children on their self imposed ailments. Complain on The View, they get it.
