I broke my hip few days ago. I didn’t have any trauma I just hopped on it trying to avoid falling and it snapped in half. I’m 34 so my surgeon was surprised. Still can’t make sense of it
me too i broke my hip 4 months ago, ive had DHS and only just been able walk without sticks and not back at work propley yet. the parmedic said there was no bed at A&E and that they wouldnt put up with me cryin in pain and thoughht i was making it up as im 36yrs, wasnt til after the xray they changed there tune. hope you have speedy recovery
I broke my femoral neck in a motorcycle accident and it didn’t heal with the 3 screws so they did a pauwels osteotomy and I’m ok with the range of motion front and side but my leg won’t extend backwards at all. (Stand straight and kick leg back) I’m kinda worried I didn’t want the osteotomy in the first place. I’m 26 overall it happy with the osteotomy. They used a dhs but I wish they would have use an anti rotation screw also. And from every study, lecture etc it make so much sense to in the first place use a plate underneath with the anti rotation screw and a dhs. I don’t understand why that isn’t the standard across the country and I think with how serious the injury is, who cares if there’s a scar or two just do what needs yo be done do it right cuz the most important thing is to have a hip joint that works well enough to live a good life. A good Functional outcome is priority. These injuries are being treated half aaasssss
maybe complication s could be avoided if they didn't sent patients home 2 days after surgery with no information other than , "don't put weight on your bad side, take pain killers and call us in 4 weeks".
I just had a fixation done with 3 screws on a formal neck fracture. 8 weeks in healing well but still alot of pain walking. I can cycle but still alot of pain & can only walk with cane. This is a major break guys doctor wants me walking with no cane in 3 weeks
@@vineethbannu6519 yes mate I am doing very well. I am able to walk ok now. My advice to anyone who gets a break Like this is pray to the Lord, do your exercises & stay positive. God bless
I am 17 and broke my femoral neck and it was displaced. I got 3 cannulated screws and a rod that has one screw going in my femur and it goes through the neck. I haven’t seen any pictures that look like mine and never seen any surgery explaining why my surgery had more than just 3 screws. Is there anyway you can tell me?
I'm 54 and just off my crutches after 6 1/2 weeks. I think if you heal up OK you shouldn't need replacement any more than anyone else - that's what I'm hoping for....
Jason Sorenson I think so the hospital didn’t give me my paperwork yet but I had 3 screws put in and was wondering how long it takes to recover. Thank you for your reply!
