If I'm being honest, FemShep was such a badass in this trilogy, that I now actively play as a female character in every game that allows the choice.

Shameless observation: Male Shepard bangs the whole galaxy, but Female Shepard will always be with Liara

I feel like femshep fits the role better with liara then male shep. Or is it just me lol just feels like better chemistry between the two

Liara has over *three hours* of screen time. She’s not just a companion, romanced or not, she’s the secondary protagonist of the entire story. Her romance arc also gets a load of screen time and a lot of unique animation resources. The case can be credibly made that she’s the ‘canon’ romance regardless which Shepard you play. If there’s ever a Mass Effect film made, you can bet Liara will be the romance portrayed. That’s just the way the story is structured. #ShutUpAndTakeMyMoney

Best romance in gaming history

the "you died" and "i got better" still gets me to this day.

I have done this romance several times and it still tugs at my heartstrings. I think what makes this the best relationship to me is that Jennifer Hale and Ali Hillis have amazing chemistry on screen and off.

In every playthrough I've done, I always fall in love with Liara. Especially when she says " I did just write your name in the stars" literally makes me melt inside.

I have been playing ME3 for the 4th time and everytime I replay I told myself "Dude, let try another romance". But 5s after the reunion with Liara on Mars. I end up choosing her every goddam time!!! Edit: I just wanna let you guys know that if you have Director's cut Edition, the ending was point out that Shepard still alive.

I was a diehard Tali romance during my first play through, right up until that epic moment where Liara places you in the stars. That “friendship” scene stupefied me and I suddenly realized how much Liara meant to the story, from recovering your body, right up to being your XO and behind the scenes true protagonist in ME3. Then suddenly there was just no other romance from a storytelling aspect. I immediately quit that play through and replayed the trilogy with her as my LI.

My favorite franchise... Oh god, these memories... I have to play it, you know, NOW!

I've lost count on how many times I have watched this video and It still gets me every time I see Anderson's name plaque. I am glad you did this video with the MEHEM because I don't know if I could take watching the "canon" ending more then the one time I played it. Thanks for making such an amazing video. I'm sure I will be back in a month or two to watch it all again.

i usually romance garrus or kaidan but ya’ll just *KNOW* liara is intended as the ‘canon’ romance. theres so much chemistry between her n shep, even if they remain as just friends. nearly every scene between the two has so much goddamn subtext. (especially in the shadow broker dlc... bioware fed us so well with that liara x shepard content) also!!! liara literally tries to romantically pursue you in ME 1 without even being provoked like with other romances where they’re basically uninterested until you flirt with em. thank you for coming to my ted talk

“I suppose I did just write your name in the stars” is easily my favourite moment out of the entire trilogy, and their argument on ilium after fighting that spectre is the most heartbreaking. Femshep and Liara will always be the canon relationship to me, I really hope we at least get a mention of their little blue children in the next game

How Mass Effect should have end. *Illusive man shot, Reapers blow up, universe is saved. More stuff blows up, ship crashes. Shepard comes out of the crashed ship looking awesome. Says "You all look like you've seen a ghost." Liara runs to embrace Shepard, big kiss, credits roll, Final picture from the future shows a mysterious new Asari who's commander of a new Normandy and she's showing her ID we see "Shepard" written on it and the closing line would her saying "I should go" then..... BAM teaser for a new Mass Effect game!*

With the new engine Bioware has, why don't they remaster the ME trilogy like Capcom did for RE2? I would buy it at full price

I didn't know where or when to start, but I finally feel like sharing this bit with hope that you'll have time and it will be of interest to you. Some time ago, at the beginning of this year, I watched this video knowing nothing about the game, just being curious. Without the whole picture I was still so mesmerized by this beautiful love story, the ending even left me in tears. So, in mid January I decided to get this game and play it myself, having no idea of what was to come. Of course with some information being already known I somewhat got it spoiled for me, but anyway it was better this way than not getting to know ME at all. Needless to say I made my mind to stick with Liara all the way through, and no regrets, meanwhile playing as female Shepard. This was such an incredible story overall, can't even describe how great it is for me. I had never thought or imagined there would be something so captivating that could catch my attention after LIS. Right now I'm on my second run, near the end of ME2, hoping to save more of my crew this time. I was touched by ME3 ending, it had me crying so much. I fell in love with fem Shepard, really, as my favorite of all, her voice and demeanor, mine was a paragon as well. Then again, Liara, such a sweetheart, a determined one, Garrus ever since ME1. I actually fell in love with the krogan after Grunt, they are just so cute despite of being natural warriors, and are loyal friends. Miranda and Tali are also one of my favs. I grew to feel connected to this game and the characters. Beside my crew I also like Aria, she's just so cool, Anderson as he sticked with me till the end. My favorite is the third one too. Thank you for reading this, it means a lot. A lot of writing, as always, but I really hope you enjoyed as it is one of your favorite games which I now understand why. My main point is, thank you for introducing Mass Effect to me :) I'd never heard of this game before, and now I had the chance to experience it. I did not play the Mass Effect trilogy, but I followed the possible relationships between the characters, the quests related to the "evolution" of the couple and most of the more romantic moments (including the dialogues too) in specific videos. Besides these two characters, I really enjoyed the Tali'Zorah Vas Normandy (ok, I had to search to try to write that right) and Garrus Vakarian as well. It was like watching a good movie with incredible and remarkable characters and also helped to know their personality and motivations. It is beautiful to see that such interaction has its share of smiles and tears and this makes the story deeper between the characters. And the soundtrack (especially in Mass Effect 3)? Beautiful too.

Femshep and Liara are meant to be together... one of the best romances in gaming for sure; one of the few couples that makes you feel like they are soulmates. If the next game brings is bringing Liara back, then I damn well expect to see Shepard somewhere in there too.

Liara sounds so helpless and like a little girl in ME1. What a shift of events to when she becomes the shadow broker.

Love the liara romance. But to be honest the romance with traynor comes a close second. Both are just well written and generally awesome. On a side note it feels like femshep is perfectly made for liara

I always liked the option "I'm always coming back".. I get the first one is meant to be romantic and light hearted, but it never felt right.. Felt like skirting around the issue. "I'm always coming back" always felt more like a promise. A promise that Shepard would do the best she could to make it back to Liara, no matter how hard that might be.

I came here after playing Andromeda to re-visit suvi, then went to the logs and listened Liara speak, immediately after I searched this video, it's a shame I cannot play this masterpiece and live the romance myself, so thank you for letting me tap into..hell even if it been years.

Yet another reason this romance oughta be the canon one: during the mission to attack TIM's (Illusive) base, Liara is the only one who can confirm that Shep is still... Shep. "I knew it was really you the first time I touched you again." I always assumed this line meant that she joined minds with Shep, saw the... soul or essence of Shepard's mind and recognized it as the person she'd known since ME1. But... without this romance, you'd never have any clue at all that you're still playing as Shepard and not another Clone. Liara for the win.

This is really good content. Better than most shows today. So my heart, shed a tear when Liara finally told Sherpard she loved her. Liara grew on me, i think she's just an odd love choice but She's a good person so it works well. ThaNks for the vid and it long THANK U.

It's impossible for me not to chose Liara every time. The only thing I missed at the ending was her being pregnant with Shepard's girl after their union. (And that piano love theme! So good!)

Just remember people... I saw her first! Great video! I freaking love Liara. She is simply the best. She's my favourite character in the whole Mass Effect universe. I like other characters as well, but Liara will always be my number one, and I have actually never made my femshep romance anyone else. Seen videos of other romances tho, and just.... no. Not for me. I think femshep and Liara make the ultimate power couple in Mass Effect. I freaking love her and her adorkableness in Mass Effect 1, her short fling with the dark side in Mass Effect 2 and her over all bad ass character in Mass Effect 3. And her character development is awesome. Not to mention the car chase scene in Mass Effect 2 where Liara is a major backseat driver and she and Shep are yelling at each other like an old married couple. That was just too funny. Jennifer Hale and Ali Hillis just absolutely nailed it as Shep and Liara as a couple. They had such great chemistry. Love this video, thank you!

I play this game years ago and seeing this makes feelings arise. I could only play it 1 time. But for me it's one of the best games I've played. Garrus sure that the best friend and Liara is just perfect. I'm not sure why she was so evasive in the relationship, always treating Sheapard as a friend until you say something.

Dude I know you for your Arcane videos and I just finished watching your newest one. I'm also obsessed with Mass Effect right now so I was looking for a video of Liara and FemShep and BOOM you show up, funny how life ties things together sometimes.

I never romanced anyone when the games were released because the fans really tainted my views on Tali and Liara. Fans were downright creepy (especially Tali ones).But, it's not 2010 and I'm no longer a teenager. I got ME:LE, I decided to make a femshep and finally romanced Liara after all these years. I really loved experiencing her romance. Not many games do good lgbt romances and this made me appreciate the game more.

Liara is my go-to LI for Femshep. Tali is my go-to LI for Broshep

Here is the strange thing....The way I played it was that My Shepard was not interested in Liara in 1 (She was hostile towards Liara) because she was going for Kaiden, but he died. In 2 she struggled her way in Cerberus (And told the Council to take the Spectre offer up the ass) but becuase her leadership skills everyone survived. It was not until the Layer of The Shadow Broker that she started to warm up and confide to Liara her frustrations......They fell in love in ME3...That's how I played it out. In the end Shepard died but she left behind a thousand year legacy for Liara to raise in a form of a green eyed baby Asari......But she also left a complicated legacy in the galaxy (Not a Mary Sue type ending).

Liara's romance arc was so well done that the first time I played the trilogy (chose Liara, of course), it got ALL UP in my feels. When the ME3 credits rolled, I legit felt like a 3 year relationship had just ended. I was lost, listless, like nothing had meaning anymore. *sniff* ....Then I discovered MEHEM and the world was right again. Lol. And now, having finished my 2nd playthrough of the Legendary Edition, I still believe Liara was the best choice and the others were just filler.

Did you use a mod? I have never had Shepard live. By the way I have only played Femshep as Jennifer is just a great voice actress, and the scenes have much more emotional impact.

Matriarch Benezia is played by Marina Sirtis aka Deanna Troi from Star Trek TNG. One telepath plays another, actually that's incorrect. Deanna is not a telepath she's a empath.

My game skips audio from time to time. For example when Aethya tell you about her being Liaras mother. Seeing as you managed to fix this, perhaps you got anything to suggest?
