the point was to leave ppl wanting more. they werent building a happy building for shep but a happpy ending for the universe that only shep could create

Hmmmm, that's the first I've heard of those mods. Yes, the Mass Effect trilogy remains my favorite franchise ever. Your sentiment echoes mine: Mass Effect: Andromeda is a really good game in and of itself, just not a good Mass Effect game. If it was put out by another developer, I'd be saying, "Wow, if they improve on this, they could really give Mass Effect a run for their money!" Here's hoping that the upcoming ME game will be better. I am, as I have been before, cautiously optimistic. Thanks for watching. :)

I'm inclined to agree.

Aeschylus Shepherd I agree. The music isn't bad per se, but the original music is so much better.

There's an option in the mod to use the original score, if you prefer. I highly recommend trying the mod out. It really expands the ending, without sacrificing the bittersweet feel.

Drew Karpyshyn left during ME2 and that's why Mac Walters is credited as co lead writer. Drew left to be the lead on SWTOR (he already wrote 1 or 2 novel in the star wars univers at that time if i'm not mistaken). Personnaly, i like Mac Walters's characters he wrote for ME (like Garrus and Wrex), but as a lead, he did not convinced... at all. I wish Drew was in charge of the whole trilogy... the dark energy seemed to be way more intresting than this synthetic vs organics "plot twist". From what i could get, the dark energy was supposed to destroy the whole univers in the long run, and reapers truned themself as reapers to get more time to find a solution and where looking for genetic diversity for a greater chance to find this solution; so ME3 should have had the possibility the let the humanity being turned as a reaper to save the galaxy or fight the reapers but being unsure to solve the problem of the dark energy later. Which would make sens for reapers to let the mass relays, so organics would meet and evolve technologicaly faster and along the path wished by reapers. It never made sens in the vanilla ending to preserve organics from making synthetics and letting them use mass relays... any culture evole faster when they meet other cultures (human history is full of exemples IRL) so that would only speed up the moment organics can could creat synthetics.. Oh well... it will never be changed anyways, and i guess debating again on the original ending is beating a dead horse... a very, very dead horse.

Well, it's also a memorial service for all the lost members of the crew. Now that the war's over, everyone finally has time to grieve. I'd be emotional, too.

Not really even if she didn't know him will he meant a lot to Shepard. When you are really close to someone you grieve with them. My partner cried with me when I had to put my cat down, he all but hated the cat but he was sad I was sad. He had lost like that before, and understood my pain. Liara had lost her mother only a few years before this happened, she had stood in Shepard's shoes.

Simple, Liara can feel Shepard's pain and add that to loss of her home planet, Yeah....

I really doubt it. Remasters are supposed to be the same game with better graphics, possibly an improved interface as well. Any more than that and it starts going into the territory of a remake.

Since she's female, she'd be the mom, just like Liara. With lesbian couples, they don't call one of the mom's "dad." Not that I've ever seen, anyway.

Nonsense. Calling a female a father is just ridiculous. Femshep does not have sperm all of a sudden or anything.They're both mothers.

That might be a bit easier to believe, seeing as the Asari are actually non-gendered or whatever (yet somehow have every female quality, lol). But my Shepard is female. She's not a guy and not a father. In my post-ME3 head-canon, she's an awesome mom.

there's a lot of nonsense in the game, lack of basic coherence not to mention logic. the 'official' story is not much to go by. ME1 may seem the best one as so much of the 'story' is still unknown..

@@TheRPGChick when referring to any couple with an asari involved, the one who actually has the child is called the "mother", and the one who contributes genetic code is the "father". This is mentioned specifically by Liara specifically in ME1, though obviously as a monogendered speciese they don't have a word for "father", it is just the closest for their own word.

There's nothing to choose, you just play through it.

Long story, heh. She died at the end of my Blind Let's Play of ME2, and I kept it that way to keep the story presented in my series authentic. When recording this mod, I didn't want to play the end of ME2 and almost all of ME3 over, so... there you go.

I am thrilled that Liara will be in the next one! Besides that, I'm cautiously optimistic.

Idk what to expect, but I do hope Shepard returns along with some of the crew. I don’t want the developers half-assedly inserting one or two older characters purely for the sake of connecting the new game to the trilogy somehow. If they gonna bring back some characters, they better bring back the ones that had insane chemistry together, like Liara and Shepard, Tali and Garrus.

@@hagoromootsutski9058 I agree wholeheartedly. I love those characters and want them back, but they must get the proper treatment and respect they deserve.

@@TheRPGChick there really ain’t no Shepard without Vakarian. This may sound a bit crazy but indulge me for a bit; I think it’s good for BioWare to play it safe. If they do bring back the trilogy characters, and they put in the time and effort in crafting a story that, while may not be original, is executed incredibly well, it will earn them a ton of goodwill from the fans and guarantee a future for this franchise. This time around, they can truly focus on the RPG aspect of ME, having a variety of side quests, both serious and goofy with the main characters (like Citadel), they can dive deeper into the romance options and give each character more depth and screen time in that department. They can focus on a plot centred around “rebuilding” the galaxy post-Reaper war, and thus give us a different “angle” than a strictly military one, where Shepard is no longer functioning much as a soldier, but more as a “explorer”, where Shepard has to do a lot of things by himself/herself, allowing tons of options for them to experiment with in terms of story and gameplay mechanics. They can focus on a loot system, comprehensive builds, introduce more skills tree like crafting; and thus incentivising players to explore the ME world and characters, both old and new. I guess what I’m saying is, contrary to what some people may think, if BioWare can even formulate a simple story, that is executed and written with love and concentration, they can not only give Shepard and the old Normandy crew the send-off they need, but also set up the franchise for future games under the helm of a possible new protagonist; and EVERYONE would be down for it. Imagine something along the lines of Uncharted 4; an ending which leaves a smile on the face of all fans and leaves everyone contended. Like I said, this sounds crazy as hell, but a dude can dream right?

I'm not familiar with Uncharted, and though I do like Garrus, I do think there can be a Shepard without him. That said, everything you wrote sounds like great ideas indeed. :)

It replaces the original ending. If you want to play it after you beat the game, you'd have to load up an old save after you install the mod.

It is on PC only. As far as "continuing," Mass Effect 3 is the last game in the trilogy, so there is nothing to continue on with after that ends.

The RPG Chick yeah I guess my happy ending would’ve been actually seeing what happened to the galaxy and our friends post the actual ending. Like seeing the Geth and Quarians living together, The Krogan being a happy race, the rebuilding of the galaxy instead of some still pictures that just feel like fan art 😅. That’s what I always felt like I was robbed of with the ending, not so much the 3 choices and dying but the aftermath of my affect on the universe. So Shepard living in a mod doesn’t really change anything for me since I still don’t get to see my affect of my work through the trilogy. Does that make sense? That’s why I don’t mind the 3 choices, it’s that it stopped 15 mins too soon for me

You only have to sacrifice Tali for the Geth if you don't have enough reputation points. The mod only changes things from when they start charging towards the conduit and onward.

@@RSNTM3NT Yeah, I was just starting the purpose of this video. I did a blind LP of all three games, and Tali ended up dying at the end of ME2. I didn't feel like playing the end of that game, plus almost all of ME3 to get back to this position, so yeah, that's why.

@@TheRPGChick I've been that road before, when I play it on X360. It took me about a month to get Tali back, but it was all WORTH IT! Maybe if you had free time, you could play it all over again, for....I dunno. Better narrative experience? The thing is, seeing optional squad member died, kinda had that mising feels... You get me?

Ugh, synthesis is the second-worst of the endings, imo (the worst being the refusal ending). Trillions of beings altered against their will can't be a good thing.
