I am 70 years old and have but few heroes. My dad being one of them, I now find myself adding one more and that is Mr. FT you are such a hands-on type of guy and farm like my grandfather did. If it is broken, fix it with what resources, you have available. I wish there was something I could do for you. I would like to see more of the misses and the kids. I would be proud to say that you were my son. I wish you and the family only the best stay safe and keep farming. one more thing I am sure that your grandfather is watching over you with a big smile and can hear him say that's my grandson!
Exactly! I’m 64, my dad would be 103 if he was still alive. He could only ever afford a few cattle at a time and made his living in a welding and repair shop. He was a lot like you, Tyler, and he would have loved watching your channel. He taught me all he knew like which side of the post the wire goes on and why. Stuff I consider common sense and most people have no idea.
Big boy Rivet sure did love the new scratching post! That was so funny watching him do that while all the other cows were standing there waiting in line to try out their new scratcher!😄 The new fly sprayer looks like it's a huge success!👌 Have a good weekend Tyler!
Every time you use that old tractor I’m amazed how much life is still in it. Cows are so funny, curious one minutes, skittish the next. I bet they’ve all given the new scratcher a whirl by now. Great day on FTR.
Cow heaven is a scratcher post. Thank you for sharing. Love that bull, he has a personality. He is a nice looking bull. Checking out your dog and tractor. Is there anything in this world more loyal than a man's dog?!!!
Great idea for the cow scratchier! I'd imagine there will be quite the rush to find 'retired' street sweeper brushes. It's too bad you can't sell tickets to use it.
I had seen someone else use a brush for their cows and had wondered about you using one for your cattle. It was so funny watching the cows watching Riveter use it. They were like, “👁️ 👁️ What are you doing?!! Hey, that’s really cool. I want a try!!!” Lol. It sure looks hot there. I enjoy seeing Cali getting along with the cattle. I enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing, have a great day!
I love it! The blue Christmas Tree is a success! Awesome to see you doing things that make your cows lives better! Love it! Who would not want a big back scratcher.
Like how you try to answer our questions and it just makes us ask more for you to answer. Thanks. Looking good. Stay as cool as you can this weekend as the HOT is coming back for a few days.
Cattle brushes are the #1 saver of farm infrastructure! Most things that get broken seem to come from animals scratching themselves on them. You can go simple with post mounted ones, in ground mounts, all the way up to the powered ones used in bigger dairies. Whatever the type, cow's will line up for their turn to rub away mud, manure and itchy fly bites.
If they do knock it over, I think it's a brilliant idea to use that brush and I would reinstall it for future use !! It sure has very stiff bristles for the cattle to rub on !!
This brush project is quite a big one. Chuckled as I thought of petsmart and what I bring home for kitty, this is a rancher’ s toy version for extremely strong, heavy herd behavior. Eager to see how it holds up❤️
First of all greetings and successes Tyler, I want to congratulate you on this channel, it’s my favorite and I really enjoy seeing everything that happens in your day to day! I will like to congratulate you also because although English isn’t my mother language, I can understand almost entirely what you say since you modulate and your explanation of what you do are clear and simple. I hope you continue to accumulate successes, your videos are very entertaining and educational in many cases! Greetings from Panama 🇵🇦 God bless you!
You are Amazing at everything you do, you show your Cattle more love then most., keep doing what you’re doing because your Cattle love you 8-7-2023👍🏽👍🏽❤️
Glad to see the cattle are finally warming up to the fly sprayer. I've seen one guy in Vermont use large sheets of fly paper wrapped around a barrel or trash can in his field. It is VERY effective for him and his cattle don't seem to bother it.
Your the one and only guy I know that has a blue totem pole in his feed lot, your going to have bus loads of people stopping by to get selfies standing by it, great idea though,in less than a years tractor supply will probably have them for sale.
Good Morning, Tyler and Callie! Finish dissembling the Fence! Revet likes the Scratching Post! Great Video! Thank-you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You have a place for everything!! You are totally amazing and that was so kewl to see the bull use it . I also saw Callie licking a cow and the cow licking her!
Riveter, you’re such a handsome moulin..? Charlois? I really enjoy Tyler, how you make use of what you have on the ranch instead of running to town to buy new. More people need to be like you are❣️❣️❣️ I totally love your channel on dish is my talk to RU-vid channels to watch♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
If you use sand instead your post won 't rot. And will hold up like concrete. Construction co 20 years then engineering. My dad put sand on some of his post and concrete on the rest. After 30 years the post in sand are still strong. We had to replace poles with concrete water sets and rots the post in time. Just a thought for you to give it a try if you want. Just food for thought.
Life = small, satisfying projects and a few large ones (fencing project). Thanks for showing us your ranch improvements: big n small, FTR. I agree with another commenter there will be a rush on brushes! I’m certainly sharing the idea with Bjornn Black Angus in Idaho - my sisters small herd.
Great idea! Your cattle will enjoy thier rub. I was thinking while you were installing, you may have to dig around it and concrete around it. The cows will be hard on it too. Another great video, keep 'em coming.
I had a friend who was a mechanic for the city decades ago and I could get these sweeper brushes for free. I would get 3 of them a couple times a year. I started doing exactly this with them. Cows use them, but horses LOVE them which is great because a cow will scratch on a fence but a horse will *lean* on fences causing them to fall over. Even goats will scratch on them. BTW, the different colors represent different coarseness of the bristles and they last years
Great video! Couple things. That would make some back scratcher if you get an itch and can't reach it. Also those posts that are rotten you should have a family bon fire some cool eve. And your family can roast hot dogs and make smores.
Nice job on the fly sprayer :) maybe if you have a piece of heavy duty pipe (oil pipe lol ) you could put one in the ground and put a flat plate welded to hold that brush up :) always enjoy your videos!
Morning FT! I’ve never seen a cow rub like that. It’s very cool. I’m hoping they get to enjoying it, it’s a good idea tho. As always enjoy watching your vids. And dead flies are a great plus! God bless!❤❤
