They took out the Tinker-toy truss rod adjustment, the main thing that was great about the Elite series.

When I bought my '86 Strat the store had probably 20+ new Strats on the rack. I think I played at least 15 of them before I got to the sunburst that I ended up taking home because I did NOT want a sunburst. 30 seconds playing it and I was sold anyway, and in the intervening 33 years, I've become kind of ok with sunburst. 🤠 That guitar still hits my hand and instantly it just feels right. Still my favorite guitar all these years later! I get the draw of the looks (and I've bought a few that way as well) but take home the one that feels the best and makes you buy it.

Mine is three color sunburst and there are much prettier looking ones but the elite I have plays amazingly and 'kills' everything else I've got so, I know exactly what you mean.

I got mine from Sweetwater. Disclaimer: I am an amateur, plain and simple. The Strat has always been on my bucket list. Now that I'm retired, I got one. Ultraburst with the rosewood neck. After some questions from him, Nick Huskins helped me through the entire process including setup, string selection, the whole nine yards. Could not have been a more pleasant or easier process for me. I love the sound, and I love all the new enhancements that make this one easier to play than my first Mexican Strat from years ago. It is an amazing instrument.

That's really funny! Side-note: I respect Fender company and their guitars. However it is enormously amusing and absurd to hear Fender representative seriously speaking about badly contoured heel joint as about some achievement whilst there are numerous guitars of other brands with perfectly contoured heel joints for like 40 years now. Oh, Fender Fender... Love you so much :)

AhlStar88 l’ve gotten a chance to try one recently as well, wasn’t setup well out of the box. And the store didn’t attempt to set it up either. I like the heel joint. It is more comfortable to reach the higher frets. But l kind wish it was more sculpted like the new charvel dk24’s. Which l think is perfect. Neck is still a bit chunky. Thought it might be a bit slimmer. But overall it’s a nice guitar. Don’t know if l want to drop 1800.00 on it though. I played the blue HSS, which one did you get?

I don't like treble bleeds at all I have experimented with them in a few guitars. When you dont have or use a treble bleed you can use you 10-9.5 (sometimes 8) on the volume control ultra high end with tone on max (most players keep it at 10). This helps many guitar effects processors and even compressors which still cant handle highs till this day. With a treble bleed you cant control that at all. Those gritty mechanical clipping highs are your soundguys problem...

AhlStar88 the S-type body does not have any copyright, trademark, or patent... the only thing fender can trademark is the headstock (which they don’t sue other makers for using because it’s not worth their time and competition is the catalyst for innovation)... the carve on the lower horn of the silver Sky not only serves an atheistic purpose, but one of functionality... I should know since I own a silver Sky and a strat. Reaching the upper registers of the neck on the prs is much more comfortable than the fender because of that carve
@QuoVadis88
@QuoVadis88 4 года назад
@@jakobmorningstar Tell that to Phillip McKnight , the "Know Your Gear" RU-vid guy. However, after playing the Ultra, their carve works pretty good too. I have a few Strats myself and I definitely like the Ultra carve. Fender is definitely going for a vintage vibe while still putting new features in. New sample: tone dial magnet clicks at 10 to bypass tone circuit. Double tap coil mod sounds hot & great when single coil is engaged through S1 switch. Vintage sample: the neck, Ultra satin smooth Ultra rolled edges great D shape solid feel. Seems like Silver Sky and Ultra are aiming for the same experience but with different approaches.
