i played mine through a cab i built with 2 - 6 inch speakers and it sounds like a full size amp, not a toy anymore.......you would need to mic up the cab to play events......distortion is awesome
It isn't bad. I have one I use all the time when I don't want to have the apartment neighbors complaining. I have had mine since around 2012 and when you realize it is a simple amp circuit it can be plentiful enjoyable. Adjust the tone, volume, and drive to get and shape your tone. I used it to teach my guitar class the fundamentals of what and how an amp works and how the sound can be shaped to what you are looking for. Modeling amps have their place but nothing beats a good simple amp. I have others if I want to play a gig or whatever and you wouldn't with this but if you are just kicking back and want some practice these are great.
Quick question- obviously the battery life depends on how much I play it. Based on your experience, say if I play daily for about a half hour, at full volume, how long would you estimate. I’m asking because you had yours Avery long time. I also see, I can get the power adapter. Thank you.
@@georgescannelli3814 If you play it at full max then around 3-4 hours but it isn't made for full max on battery power. It is a bedroom practice amp and with its simple amp circuit it is a very simple amp. That simplicity is also why I taught with one, to show how the amp is used and what it can do to your tone. I normally have mine near me on a desk with volumes of between 3/4 to 1/2 and about 1/4 drive or less. The guitar itself also shapes your tone and volume from the pickups. Those often are on around 7 or 8 and 3/4. Adjusting them to get more of a cleaner or grittier volume from the pickups. A standard 9 volt power supply for your pedals is what they use if you want to go AC.
Thanks. That’s my expectation. Never play it really at max volume. I like the clean sound. Tone up. Don’t really use the distortion. Great for not bothering anyone!! Plus the headphones are a plus.
thanks for the review, I had not heard of this amp, I think it sounds and looks great, and with a nice price, and I actually think that the overdrive sound was very cool on the single note riffing, it sounded like a 60s fuzz, although the chords didn't sound good at all
if you sever the diodes connection you'll get a cleaner sound and a more natural/softer overdrive, but.... the speakers aren't good and upgrading them will make a massive difference. I replaced both of them with a bigger one.
