In this video, I will attempt to eliminate the uncertainty that surrounds the Blackface Princeton Reverb AA764 chassis. Many feel that it was simply a typographical error on the tube chart and that this chassis did not actually exist, because to date no original Fender AA764 schematic has been found. It appears that the AA764 chassis did indeed exist, however, and differed from the more common AA1164 version with respect to rectifier (GZ34 vs 5U4B) and two capacitor values. The video explains the origin of the AA764 designation and provides a link through which you can access and download an accurate schematic of this chassis: www.blueglow.de...
PLEASE NOTE that it has become evident that this schematic was photoshopped from a AA1164 schematic to resemble a AA764 and is not an original Fender issue. Apparently, no original AA764 schematic actually exists.
Also discussed are the advantages provided by the GZ34 rectifier tube specified for the AA764 circuit.
