Honestly as an owner of a TMP since the end of last year, I’ve been a little disappointed by Fender’s lack of urgency with this thing. Last update was meh, and there are still some basic things it should have had from the jump. But Im especially missing the iPad app that has been promised. I know that they’ve said updates would be around every 6 months but they should really rethink that and do smaller updates at shorter intervals. They started off behind and with a reputation of abandoning products early. I’m sure they have a skeleton crew working on this thing waiting for sales to pick up. I’m not sure they will as it seems like all the major modeling guys on RU-vid here don’t like it and seem to mostly trash it compared to the other popular modeler units.
@@blakeabernathy4051 I appreciate you sharing this Blake. I feel pretty much the same way. I have had mine for about 5 months and I do use it, but I sold the Quad Cortex because I got sick of Neural and how they were doing business. So now I have the TMP and I do like it better than the QC, but I am starting to have negative feelings about it as you have expressed here. I do hope they realize they are not setting the world on fire and their commitment to NOT do timely updates is overshadowing the unit itself in my mind. We will see. I will add that the TMP does do everything I need it to do already. But that is not the main point here. God bless.
@@blakeabernathy4051 I agree that would be better having frequent updates with small increments than a big one every 6 months. I think the problem here is Fender is not a SW company and this is only SW now since released, so if they don’t put more resources on that this won’t satisfy expectations and at the end will be another failure on “digital” by Fender. I bought the unit not for what it is now (regarding to effects, amps, etc) but more for what it will be, hopefully I did the right decision.
I agree with both of you. I do really like the TMP but feel like everything around it, the support, future development plans even the cloud website feels kind of skeleton and lacking in substance and visibility. In my view Fender are missing a trick here and should be much more open and proactive about this - unless they don’t want to because it is taking sales away from their other product lines. They could do with communicating more and engaging with real users to find out what they want. I don’t even know if there is a Fender hosted product forum for the TMP. I do think for your average user it is a good intuitive product though
I have the fender Pedal and got the two below cables from Amazon. They are short for the pedal being right next to the unit on the floor but you can get longer ones. Audio2000's C26003P2 3 Ft 1/4 Inch TRS Right Angle to TRS Patch Cable (2 Pack) Audio 2000s E28103P2 1/4" TS Right Angle to 1/4" TS 3 Feet Patch Cable (2 Pack) Enjoy! 😎👍
Finally, somebody has made the instructions simple. I'm one of those "tube" guys trying to make the new technology work for me, a bit cumbersome I must say.
Another great video Doug! I admit I too was lost when I first got my TMP & Mission expression pedal & if it wasn't for your first video I would probably be still in the clouds! Super thanks for all of your help & guidance. Now for a possible instruction & a more clear understanding of the endless possibilities the TMP has to offer could you demo & explain how to use the pitch effects and possibly demo the different ways to use the expression pedals (to.replicate the DigiTech whammy & other effects? We are all explorers trying to find our paths on the TMP and can not thank you enough Doug for all of your assistance! Many thanks! - Mike
I am a drummer, barely getting into guitar really as I was pushed in to the guitar position in my church, with little knowledge of guitar, so everything guitar is rather new to me. So I appreciate all the work you do Doug to break this down to us newcomers in the guitar world
Enjoy your videos very much. I have a Boss EV5 for an expression pedal. I have a Boss FS-5L (Latched) for the Toe Switch. The FS-5L has a polarity switch which seems to have no info or instructions on how to set the polarity switch. You did a great job explaining the expression pedal but you have no instructions for the Toe Switch. In Step 5 you can see the Toe Switch icon but you don't show how to set it up. Of course I can find a way to choose the wrong way to set up the Toe Switch. Thank you for all your great videos.
I’m actually surprised theres no envelope filter/auto wah in the effects models. They put the Fender pugilest distortion model in there, they could put the Fender Pour Over Env Filter in
Thanks very much for this video! I did this exact procedure and got the same result a few weeks ago. That said, I've tried using the Fender expression pedal for wah and volume. Unfortunately, i can't seem to get wah and volume to work independently by using the toe switch. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! For now, im having to use my Cry Baby before the TMP and use the expression pedal solely for wah until I can figure out what to do.
Is there a way to make you expression pedal settings universal for all settings with a wah pedal? It is very tedious having to set up the same expression pedal settings on every patch with a wah pedal. Thanks
