***NOTE Bias for the 6V6 tubes has been shown in this video as 35mA and should have been 25mA. Sorry for this error...***
With the short repaired from the last video, we see the working standby functioning, all of the tubes are loaded in for a complete observation. Everything now working as expected.
The is the magic moment where I hook up my garbage test speaker, for initial evaluation. Wow, all of the potentiometers sound like, and feel like they haven't been moved in a while, and will need some Deoxit, but the Amp itself it totally quiet.
As expected, Deoxit does the job. This brought the project to the complete voltage annotation phase. Corrections are then made to bring everything within spec.
During this time, I am monitoring the current of the output tubes so I can see what the deviation is across all four.
This is followed up by a test of the amplifier functions. Some requiring a shorting plug for lack of a foot pedal. With that its time for a chassis re-installation and a test run by the wife for correct operation.

I had one of the Twins about 40 years ago when I could still lift the darn things. Interesting vids thanks for the tour down memory lane.

Good series, Jordan. I worked on a Fender tube amp very similar a year or two ago and found a short at the speaker jack, apparently someone had replaced it and miswired it. It appeared like a shorted output transformer. Nothing worse than a man made problem! Smart thoroughly checking those coupling caps before shotgunning them. Purists love original parts, even if they do leak, or create latent problems to exist.

If I thought they leaked an IOTA id replace them..... That said, Given the IT 11, If they have no leak, I leave em alone.

Man, that is one clean amp. You don't see many this clean.

The 1972 twin reverb fender amp sounds a whole lot better than the new modified ones that they put on the market today that are modified to handle pedals for sound effects

I have a peavey session 400 that needs looked over and the reverb output resoldered how much would you charge to make that amp concert ready again

Can I send my Twin Reverb to you to be restored like this one? Mine needs some work, but I haven't a clue what I'm doing when it comes to this stuff.

The bias settings in this video is set up for 35mA..... This is an error, it should be 25mA

Did you replace the two-prong ungrounded power cord with three-prong grounded line and remove the death cap below the ground switch, take ground switch off-line and rewire fuse to protect the user as well as the amp? If not, is this vintage amp safe from shock in event of a cap going bad or another type of short? Excellent presentation.

You are not the first person to wedge the entire grounded plug procedure into a question without first asking if that is in fact what the owner wanted which would be the most important question, but thanks for asking anyway.

@@retrotechandelectronicsPretty sure bet that the owner would want to avoid being zapped. Anyhow, I appreciate your detailed vids and your reply.

I know the courtesy outlet is out dated but it’s nice have a place for a small light.

A small light would be reasonable, most today have small directional led lambs that run forever on a AA though.

It always amazes me with a 1960's amp, step 1- spray the pots after you have established good power supply voltage.
