Big Tractor Power is out in the field with a 517 hp FENDT 1050 VarioTractor working with a 1,500 bu BRENT 1596 Avalanche grain cart duding corn harvest. This video shares the tractor's production history , specifications and original price tag. Viewers will ride along in the tractors cab to see the operators perspective of keeping up with two 630 hp 420 bu. JOHN DEERE X9 1000 combines and one 473 hp 400 bu. JOHN DEERE S780 combine.

The new fendt cab is leaps and bounds better then the old one in my opinion. A lot more bells and whistles but also more user friendly and better layout

How many grain carts are they running in this field? I remember running one 2388 in high school, and you *almost* needed two grain carts to keep up. I can't imagine two X9s and an S series rolling with just one cart.

There seemed to be a tank on the side of the grain cart,wonder what thats for,could it be an oil resevoir? The grain cart operator has a bit of a rush keeping those combines moving.

The 1050 is imo one of the nixest looking standard tractors out there. I sat on one a few months back and the thing GIGANTIC. Also a slight correction on the city they're built in: Its pronounced Markt-obern-dorf. The T is part of "Markt" (german for market).

How can one auger wagon keep up with 3 combines in corn!?! Yields must be very low, in East Central IL it’s practically one cart per combine in corn.

Maybe someone can explain this. Farmers talk about how they make no money but they buy tractors that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars when any old tractor can pull a grain cart

It takes big equipment to farm cover a lot of ground. You’re gonna end up losing a hell of a lot more money if you have smaller equipment that can’t get it all done and you leave half your crop in the field.

That's a silly comment! I doubt that the tractor pulling the grain cart is used only in the fall harvest! I'd bet the Fendt stays plenty busy in the spring too! With multiple John Deere combines running, any prudent farmer would scoff at the idea of using older, smaller equipment to handle such an important task.

He said they were going 5.5mph in 220 bushel corn. That's 20 acres an hour, 4400 bu/hr. That is a theoretical never ending straight line, less when you account for turning around.
