I went to Home Depot and bought various diameters of wooden dowels. This way I can cut their lengths and sand their diameter and put an easy temporarily belt clip on them using coat hanger wire just to try them out before I purchase any in the pocket flashlights. They are not going to be accurate weight but you get an idea. I find that if there's something in your pocket that's not comfortable you will tend to leave it in your vehicle, in your desk, at home. This is probably the most important thing with EDC. I've had 7 Fenix lights over the past 9 years and only had one issue with a tiny E02 keychain one and had been looking at the Olight Perun Mini and compatible.

I love my little e16 , nice tint for edc in my opinion , and gets pretty damn bright for its tiny size

Great review. Thank you. For me, I like the CW better than warm because the warm light reminds me of an incandescent bulb. That's just me though

How does the 18R clip work on a hat brim? Some clips kinda squeeze themselves off little by little if you know what I mean.

Well, it's been a long time since you asked but I can say it's perfectly useable. That's the main reason I bought the E18r. I used it that way and it stayed on the brim firmly.

Great review!👍 I'm hesitating between the Fenix E16 and the Nitecore TUP? 🙄...The Fenix E16 does not come with battery so I need to purchase it separately, and only gives 700 lumens and 155 yards of throw compared to the Nitecore TUP which already comes with a micro-USB rechargeable built-in Li-ion battery and gives a brightness of 1000 Lumen with 197 yards of throw, making it a notch better than the Fenix E16. However, the TUP is a little thicker and ½ inch longer but it has a very strong wide pocket clip and a battery level/Voltage & Brightness display screen.

I've bought and tested the Nitecore TUP and it helps a lot when you a fed up with charging your batteries every time like me but its beam is only 15minutes for 1000lumens so it is too weak. For a better ratio power/brightness, prefer the fenix E18R, the pack is more complete and you can bring CR123A additionnal batteries when you're low and the beam shot provide you 750lumens (250m). It's more bankable. That's my choice ;-)

The trustfire mc1 can put 1000 lumins and they at the same price range it will be great to compare to that fenix

thanks for the review !!!! I have on the way that I order last week a UC35 V2.0 1000 lumens , love the throw of that light and the runtimes !!!! and also the step down is very long , arround 5 min in turbo, in a very good size light with the best throw in that head size I found !!!!! now there is a new one the E30R , 1600 lumens with a very similar reflector of this 2 lights you review in this video , I am thinking that with that reflector is going to be more floody , love the UC35 V2.0 , with the spill of the uc35 you can see a big area and throws very long , 266 meters , with the new e30r I think is going to eat more battery going lees throw with less runtimes and more heat , for me the best balance in size throw heat and runtimes is the UC35 V2.0 , the PD35 V2.0 is very similar but have a little less throw , 250 m , and a 3 min step down but a longer runtime 2 hs and 50 min , but I prefer a longer setdown and a little more throw of the UC35 v2.0 , searching I think the best flashlight for the pocket is the UC35 v2.0 , the only thing that dont like is that dont tail stand and dont have a quick acces to strobe but I prefer to use the turbo to the strobe , another thing is that dont have a deep pocket clip , but for the practice I think the part out of the pocket helps to pick up the flashlight forom the packet esay and faster , looks more bud but is more practice !!!! When I recibe the UC35 v2.0 I tell you the real thing , but for all the reviews I see this is the information I have !!!! , love the small flashlights but the problem of 16340 flashlights are the short runtimes !!!! prefer a 18650 with a really more long rutimes !!!! thats wy I prefer the UC35V2.0, one more thing that I like from the UC35 V2.o is the USB port , you can charge the light with all USB chargers of cellphones or powerbanks without worring to have the exlusive cable with magnet like the e18 or olight lights !!!!1
