Bro you know I saw that dope wallet in that shot of the flash light you know when I look at the wallet at the right side of my phone I'm thinking holly crap I can't wait to get mine hopefully really soon and engraved also nice advertising for the trayvax contour wallet
First of all I need this light. But I wish Fenix would upgrade their UI. They need a double tap for turbo so you don’t have to cycle through turbo every time you change modes
@@ChrispyThings Thanks I'm going to eventually get both things in the video, I am such a fanatic for the EDC things in life like Knives, Flashlights, Guns, Watches. Anyways great video.
I have this flash light its a great torch it would be better if they had an attachment to make it a focusable light so i can shine it even further away. I also brought 2 extra batteries that are 5000mha each. Did you know you can also run it on just one battery if one of them becomes faulty. it was a bit pricy here in new Zealand at $422.84 with extra battery's included.
I'm glad that you explained how turbo works and the real runtime. Subbed! For a smaller, more manageable light that still has a 7 second 9.5k lumen turbo (but shorter runtimes), I would get the Nitecore TM9K instead. The Fenix PD40R v2 is also insane and one of my favorite flashlights.
I'm still stuck at 1000 lumens and NiMH batteries. First things my friends did with it is shine it in each others eyes, so I'm a little worried about 10,000 lumens.
Make it less lumens with a turbo runtime for at least 1 minute with same throw. Complete it with a tail switch than you have a winner. This is not useable . I like the form factor but i need a tail switch for quick access to turbo .Thanks for the video.Subbed!
When it drops down, hit the button to bump it back up if higher output is needed. It gets hot, so yes, it is 10k, then steps down gradually until 3k or so. It is VERY useful and packs a punch for a small light. Not much to complain about, really.
@@MemphisMojo15s Have you tried it? I thought the brightness might decrease over time because the battery output drops. It seems that the 10K lumens would require a lot of power, and the battery might not be able to sustain that for a long period.
@@andrewzhuk8713 I tried it some and it will go back to the 10K range, then just gradually step down. It will stay above the high for quite sometime. Naturally, it will drop and eventually it won't hit the 10K because of battery drain. I have used all of my lights this way and i will actually turn them off, leave off for about 10 seconds, then turn it back on and go to turbo, and I can get close to the highest brightness for a few minutes until the battery just can't get there anymore. Hope this helps, but with this light being so smal and lightweight, I actually carry it using the pocket clip and it isn't even heavy
the batteries look parallel, which means it doesn't have an efficient buck driver, like the old tk35. My tk35 was a little too heavy. It could have been a good light, with a lighter grade aluminum.
I paid $229 for a TK75 2015 Edition. 4k lumens. The advantage to it is it has 4 batteries and longer run time at cooler temps. The LR35R is actually cheap for 10k lumens. That's my opinion though.
40 odd seconds at 10k lumens isn't bad till it began ramping down then to step-down. When was that? 2 minute? FENIX seems to be the best at giving us more Turbo time....even if the heads do get fairly warm "fast"....we should really only be using HIGH and Turbo in short 3 second bursts and not count on max lumens as the lumens mode for that situation. Where we need consistent lumens.... Companies should focus less on putting out torches with crazy high lumens just to sell more lights VS focusing on stretching run-times. Stretcihng tihe time a light can give us the rated lumen on HIGH and Turbo longer while keeping hte light easy to hold ner the head....being only mildly warm. Much rather have a light with 1200 max lumens that can stay at 1200 lumens for "longer than the normal 30040 seconds before ramping down...achieve a time of 10 minutes...heh... What good is any torch if you only get 5 seconds of max lumens?? :) e.g. Acebeam e70, Nitecore P20iX.....
It is in person. I was blown away when I charged mine up and got to try it. It lit our entire condo area up and the resort we stay in is 3 floors high and each section is 100' wide. It lit the entire tri-complex up
👋 so turbo only last 40 seconds then goes down ? Can you try after 40sec turn it off and turn it back on to see if it goes back to turbo for another 40sec or so 🤔. if you have time please do this for me im undecided between this one and the tm9k nitecore but the nitecore only last 5 sec on turbo. Thank you 🙏. My nitecore tm28 with 🔋 pack gives me 3:30 - 4:00 minutes on turbo I love it the 2nd time I press turbo it only last 30secs seconds 🙏.
It steps down from turbo because of heat. It’s protecting itself and steps down to a more manageable temp. Yes you can turn it off then switch it back on, but until the heat dissipates, you won’t get the full lumens out of it.
Did you see the graph that I showed after talking about the lumens? It shows a huge drop off in lumens after being on for a few minutes. Even in my heat test you can see light fluctuations starting at 40 seconds
Chrispy Things i see that but i dont know the meaning of it. Thank for the explanation. Basically 10k capable but dont expect to much of it. Consider 3k with extra.
I used to work as a lighting technician on films so I’m very good at guessing color temp. And even though I don’t know the exact color of the beam if I had to guess it would be 6000k
No thanks 1st off the price. 2nd the heat it should have something to control it from your hands like the light bar's do. I'll stick with my little pencil looking stream light rechargeable. Good video anyways.
HDMatz Matz so you didn’t see the trees, or the net, or the bleachers? It’s far from an open field. And where do you suggest I go that isn’t “the worst place ever” Btw Comic Book guy wants his saying back. 🤦♂️
