Fenix PD25 EDC Light | Better Than The Olight S1R?

For the past several weeks i've been carrying the Fenix PD25 and I have to say it's become my favorite EDC Flashlight. It's replaced my Olight S1R regardless of the lower lumen count. Better features and use for my EDC system.

I've been carrying the PD25 everyday for over a year and I'm very happy with it. I put it in my back pocket and forget about it! Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the review. I think the antiroll is so you can place it down, on its side without it rolling. I could see its use. Still debating which light lol

Sweet light. I can see why it replaced the baton.

My PD35V2 does that little flicker when it starts up. Not a problem but something I noticed, and if other lights do it then I won't worry about it being a defect.

I just switched from a headlamp to a ThruNite T10. It's only 252 lumens, but I friggin' love it.

I have the Olight s1r in neutral white when they offered it. Now the battery died and Olight no longer makes the proprietary battery. So my Fenix pd25r 2022 version is coming today.

Was looking at this light while searching. I need a compact light like this but with as close to a 1" diameter body as possible to put in a 1" ring type mount. I think this light was 0.87" diameter (at its biggest)?

Hey there. Question for you: How long can you run it at 550 lumens before it auto bumps down to a lower lumen output because heat? Thank ya! Myles-

The clip will reverse and snap on right where it unscrews if you need it to clip on a cap. I leave it in the original position when I carry it but it does reverse and clip nicely to the light if you ever want to clip to a hat and use it as a headlamp.

I use a LD12 as EDC just because everyone can find an alkaline AA battery everywhere in a hurry. I use it with a 1.600 mah 14500 li-ion battery though.

Fenix PD25 vs Thrunite T10 vs Olight i5T EOS? I want a compact LED with clip, and don't want to pay Surefire price... Thx

Favorite 2-3 small keychain size lights? Im torn : Baton II, E18r and TUP
@mrmemyselfandi9609

Get em all, they're all great lights! lol. But really... I have the original S1 Baton (500 lumens) as well as the new S1R Baton II (1000 Lumens) and I LOVE them both. They're seriously amazing lights and I have no regrets. But I've seen the Fenix E18R and it's a cool little light too...really floody with the snowed out headcap as I recall..but nice clean clear light. The Tup is powerful I've read but it's pretty bulky I guess. There is also a Nebo keychain light that's 400 lumens and it's pretty legit I guess but I don't know the price and details. But no fear....regardless of what you get, you can't make a mistake with the ones you mentioned.

Gove me a bidirectional pocket clip and I’ll make the switch. Until then I’m sticking with Streamlight
@outbackeddie

I own two of these lights and my only gripe is the slide switch. I wish Fenix would rubberize the slide switch so that it could be located by touch quicker. You can orient the pocket clip to speed things up but a rubberized button would really be an improvement.
@outbackeddie
@outbackeddie 3 года назад
@Joe The old time flashlights used to have a switch that you slid back and forth to turn the flashligh on or off. I'm an old timer so I say "slide" switch.

I disagree, rubber switches fail with time....I prefer a metal switch.....perfect .

You need to provide burn times in the various modes. Also Lumina are not the be all. Lumens are based upon how the light beam is concentrated or spread. I like Ten is they have been around a long time and make good lights. Thanks for the review. Though when I saw this I thought o no I'll have to go buy a new light.

Backcountry Exposure ugh missed burn time. Just have dozed off or was thinking about what light I was carrying today. Man it was a pissy day, but fun. Do you ever carry an alcohol stove.
@unauthorizedentry01
@unauthorizedentry01 6 лет назад
Lumens is the total light output and has nothing to do with the shape of the beam. That would be the lux or candela.

I like the protruding button on the back because it makes it easier to use with a handgun in a defensive situation.

The only benefit I see over the olight is the tail switch. The olight take the win in every other aspect

It's a great light but the S1R is more pocket friendly, charges easier, and can be put on your hat for a headlamp. Strike one, two, three and it's OUT. Sorry.
@BackcountryExposure
@BackcountryExposure 6 лет назад
Jameson Cross the S1R is a rad light. Your first two points are subjective and aren’t necessarily true/100%. For outdoor use i would argue the magnetic charging base of the Olight is more of a pain, requiring one more cable that isn’t universal. The Fenix i can charge with the same micro usb i use to charge my camera, etc. i rarely notice the Fenix in my pocket too. The nice thing though is that the Olight is a sweet light and i do like the “hatlamp” aspect with the clip. Thanks for watching.
