Thank you so much for this tutorial! I don’t think I would have been able to complete the fanny pack without this since the pattern is not very clear 😅
Geez you make this look easy! I could actually just watch this for relaxation purposes!!! Great video, really helped me to understand the instructions. Thanks!
Thank you for always taking the time to show every part of the process clearly. I really like the fabrics, patterns and alterations you have made in your videos and many of those I will try and implement in my upcoming makes =)
It is lovely as always Sarah. I have in my time done both ways drop in and bias binding finishes. I can truthfully say that I prefer a clean look that you get with a drop in to a bias binding finish but both have their places in bags. For this bag I think I prefer the added structure that a bias binding finish gives to the pack versus the drop in. Looking forward to the next project.
Thanks so much, Julia! I also love how the bias binding edges give more structure on the bag! At the same time, I love how much extra room I can get with a drop-in method! 😊
Lovely clear instructions. I’ve just bought this pattern and needed a bit more help. Also. Your videos are very relaxing. I enjoy watching just for the mindfulness!
Thank you so much for the video! Could not make it through this project without it. Around 9.03, the subtitles say to use the front panel. But I'm wondering if you mean the back panel (the one we just basted, with no zipper). Thank you!
Wonderful tutorial! I’ve made this Fennel Fanny Pack before but I felt it was awkward to put together; your method is so much better and I can’t wait to try it! Thank you!
So glad I found this tutorial! Before I saw this, I have tried making this twice and had terrible results. Maybe a third time is the charm. My main panels seem to be too large even though I check all my measurements twice and use 3/8 seam allowance. Beautiful video and audio!
I love your tutorials! I'm kind of confused about the measurements of the bias tape...can you explain what you mean by "I cut my bias tape 3/8″ x 6 = 2 1/4″ wide and folded in half."
Thank you but I don’t get the math…I mean, what is the 6? 6 inches? I just would like to know how wide to cut the strip…that is, how wide is it before any folding is done? I’m thinking a 3” wide strip folded in half, and then sewn with 3/8” seam allowance would work?
@@pampower3485 and @may Gonzalez If you multiply 3/8 times 6 you get 2.25 inches. Then she folds the bias tape in half with wrong sides together which comes to 1 1/8". Her method is similar to quilt binding cut on the bias. Hope this helps.
Hi, firstly thank you so much for this tutorial. Can I ask something which is driving me crazy. At 4mins and 6mins you attach the pieces with the zips to the other pattern pieces...and they are the same width - however as we have used about 1cm on each side of the zips to attach them, when I put the pieces together they are about 2cm smaller than the intact pieces. How does it work for you? Your pieces match the size perfectly, even though you've added the zip. The only thing I can think is that although the pattern says cut 3 outer and 3 linings the same size, and to cut the top zip pieces the same width as the lower band piece - the ones to be used for the zips actually need to be cut 2cm wider to accomodate the 1cm each side, so they match the size of the other pieces - is this right? Please help! Jen xx
Hi, you didn’t add up the width of the zipper. The zipper is usually 3-4cm wide so the piece with zipper normally becomes slightly bigger than the other pieces. You can just trim a bit to match the size. Hope it makes sense!
