I was considering relapsing but seeing how heartbroken his family is…. That’s the last kind of pain I want to inflict on my family so I guess I’ll keep taking it one day at a time. Praying for this family
And this is precisely why people should never stop talking about this and sharing their stories. You never know who it might reach and help. Let’s go!! Thank you for sharing this and for hanging in there for one more day!!! Hope, Hope, Hope.. that’s what people need right now. Recovery is possible!!
Thank you for your comments. We also have a series of addiction recovery stories that you might find interesting. Here's a link to the playlist: From Addiction to Recovery - ru-vid.com/group/PLdCPA32W_p39Z8hi7xSIX3Fkqmhd7mRzj
It is horrible that you went through this. I probably been punching someone in the face. So sorry about your son. Thank you for challenging the system. God Bless you and your family.
These drug dealers ( murderers) need to be going to jail for knowingly selling death to people! This lady is so articulate in describing the runaround that she faced when trying to find the exact cause of her sons death . Everyone needs to see this video ! Thank you Texas Pictures for exposing the harsh truth on this deadly Fentanyl epidemic. ❤
She is speaking the truth, in all aspects of her child's death. It's so sad that she has had to go to such lengths to protect her child's dignity. God Bless you and your Son.
The way this lady was spoken to by the person at the coroner's office was truly uncalled for, you are already at your lowest point and someone seems offended that you bothered them with a very legitimate question. I don't blame you for complaining about her. So very sorry for your loss - 29 is such a young age to have to say goodbye. Thanks for working so hard on the groups you have put together.
Same exact thing happened to my girlfriend. We were drinking and I had no idea, but she had did 2 lines of heroin powder and overdosed. Thank god I went to check on her because she was dying. Her lips were blue and she was unresponsive. She wasn’t breathing and then all of the sudden 10 seconds later would take a huge breath then back to nothing. I ended up doing cpr and after about 5 min which felt like hours, she stood straight up and looked at me like..”what are you doing?” It was horrific! 7 months later she OD’d and I wasn’t there to save her. I’m so so sorry you lost your son. What a talent. I checked out about 4 songs on RU-vid. He’s a true “front man”!🎶🎧🎤🎹
The run around this mother went through from the police & coroner's office is unprofessional. Her research proved their incompetence and lack of training irresponsibility. That state can make these changes but clearly they don't see it as a priority. This very scary
Watch some more videos on this channel. It's the same story. Cops failing the very citizens their job is to protect and serve. Most every single video.
Let everybody in your family watch out for him! There's nothing more you can do. Because a lot of times they are very good at hiding it. Because addicts don't want someone else to stop them from using.
Dear Jimmy's mom, You are so strong and knowledgeable.Taking on all that you are doing to spread the word while caring for your grand children. When these are your retirement years, you are out there trying to prevent the loss of anyone else's loved one. I admire you for all of that and send my love and support your way. R.I.P Jimmy. Such a talented young man and such a tragic loss.🙏
To Jimmy's mother im so sorry how painful this whole thing is. I lost a son when he was an infant nothing like how you lost your son. Im just so sorry for your loss. This is just too much, its just so sad. I HATE DRUGS!!
God bless this mom for her tireless efforts in fighting the true pandemic!! She is speaking the truth about the impact of Fentanyl on families and our country as a whole.
My best friend just lost her son to fentanyl 2 weeks ago, and she is a complete wreck, my heart and prayers go out to her and everyone that has losr a child to this awful drug!!! I used drugs for 20 yrs, i have almost 6 yrs clean and thank god, i got out just in the nick of time or i would be dead too!!! May this talented young man RIP !!!
Unfortunately this mom went through hell and back trying to get answers from people who were supposed to do their jobs!! I'm 63 now and I've dealt with my family members who died in overdose and I've dealt with those so called professionals who really don't give a dam about our loved ones. Why should they? It's not their kids or sister, brother or friend. I'm so sorry for your loss of your precious son. May he fly high with the angels.
It just makes me so sad to hear stories like this from parents to hear them Share stories about their talented children, sorry for your loss and the loss of such a talented young person.
Hi Jimmy's mom. You seem like one very cool human being! And may I add smart, savvy, and funny. I don't know what role the universe has for you, but whatever that is, your fighting passionate spirit will see you through. I wish you some peace in your life. ❤❤
My son overdosed from fentanyl mixed with alcohol and herion and I know that it was a poisoning I didn’t get to talk to the police because I lived in Texas and he was in Pittsburgh pa and they actually found him on the side of the curb and I was unaware that he was involved with people who did drugs he traveled on backpack through the United States he met one wrong person who he didn’t really know and walked her to a homeless shelter and from their until they found him and I only found out because he had a friend that was a sober friend that told me on September 6 2021 and I had to have the hospital pull the plug on September 10 2021 my heart breaks for you
Omg I’m from Missouri born and raised and my daughter is in active fentanyl addiction I’m so sorry for the loss of your son..thank u for that info if god forbid that happens to my kid
I'm so sorry for your loss. Im currently raising my 2 1/2 yr old grandbaby. I've had her 2 yrs. It isn't easy. My daughter is clean from illicit drugs but still has some mental health issues and prescription issues.
Stay hopeful because it's a start!!! Don't give up. It took me 30 years to finally stop with everything. I just pray for you it won't take her that long!!
Sorry for your loss❤. I hope someone does something about this epidemic. I dont have the answer and can't think about any. Addiction is evil. In my 51 years in this earth I never thought that addiction to heroin would be spoken as something so blase because there's something out there that is so horrible like fentanyl
I always wonder what is the answer to this crisis? This a horrible epidemic, one of my neighbors overdosed on fentanyl and he's 72 years old. He thought he bought cocaine but it was fentanyl. Shame on him though at his age using illicit drugs, it's just sad.
@@patriciapearl2529I'm 54. And addicted since I was 16. Maybe I'm using too at that age...I don't hope so. But that's more a shame than when a young person does it?? I just hope young people get educated earlier than I did!!!
@@patriciapearl2529you are apart of the problem. shame on him? seriously? why do ppl have to be shamed for using drugs? you don’t know why he chose to go buy cocaine. how dare you shame him for that. this is the problem and why there’s so much negative stigma around addicts and addiction.
Wow! - This is the most incredible and informative conversation ever spoken on the topic!! Mom you didnt ask for any of this but know you are the strongest most articulate person I have ever heard. Keep speaking whenever and however you are able. Jimmy would be the proud as all heck of you! 🤘🏽
Thank you for letting us into your life & sharing Jimmy’s story. I can’t even imagine losing a grandchild to this 😢. His story will help so many people! I am so sorry how the coroner & LE treated you. I learned at a young age the whole system is broken 😢.
Thank you for bringing awareness to this side of this epidemic! The focus is only on the user. Yes, that is important. But the other side, the city, county, state, government, and federal government needs education! Educate!! Educate! So, Lady thank you!!!!!
Illegally using drugs, yes. I’ve used Fentanyl since 2000 and other opioids since 1992, thanks to injuries, cancers and treatments. I fought for over a year, before finally using pain meds to bring some relief. It got me back on my feet and back to work, so I’m proof that “people touch drugs” does not mean “it will kill them.” 🏍🇺🇸🎒
As well you should. An Emergency Room Physician I know of😢 stated that it is in EVERYTHING that you can buy off the street, even Marijuana. Isn't it amazing that the fact that fentanyl is so prevalent in the illicit drugs coming into this country, that people will take them anyway, knowing how risky it is. The addiction is so strong that it overpowers all other considerations (like death, family, employment, and health). Someone has mis- formed this woman regarding Acetaminophen.
@@cindyjo9093You're so right!!! If people didn't believe it by now ...they should because nobody would use drugs anymore, knowing that every drug can be laced with fentanyl and therfore deadly....it's a disease!!!
I live and am from sw MO. Ty for sharing Jimmy's story and know that even if it gets to one person who watches, you are saving lives. The current so called administration needs to be held accountable for every fentenyl related death since they opened the borders up like they have. I'm so sorry for your Unimaginable loss. Rest in paradise Jimmy. Thank you for sharing his and your story.
Don’t be knowledgeable the current administration didn’t open the borders. And the majority of drugs are sent here by poor people but the big cartels that have planes, boats , tunnels etc etc . And we’re in this situation to because America big appetite for drugs , if wasn’t for that , nobody would try to send drugs here if wasn’t a great market for them. Use your cognitive intelligence and by the way this tread started with the previous administration!
@@susiewomack9104, the epidemic started with your macho Trump , big wall blah blah . Use if you have your cognitive intelligence as poor immigrants very rare bringing fentanyl in the country. These drugs are brought here first by Americans big apettit of drugs and wealthy cartels using trucks, airplanes, tunnels, boats etc etc .
Every high-school child should listen to this entire video ... every year .... Nobody should ever need to again say: 'I did not know'. I just researched whether marijuana could be laced with fentanyl. Apparently, according to a 'drugfree' website, even if it was, it would have no effect ... as fentanyl is destroyed when burnt. Strange ...
Thanks for sharing your story. I am also raising 2 of my grandchildren because of my daughter's addiction. Yes I also think about all the children that don't have family to help them.❤i want to save all the children 😢
I love this page and the stories that often go unheard. But one thing (as a former user myself) that I simply cannot 100000% get behind is using “poisoning” so loosely. Those living in active addiction are choosing to take a pill/powder/etc without knowing what is in it. It was not prescribed by a dr and picked up at a pharmacy. At the end of the day, regardless of the disease of addiction, he chose to call/purchase from the dealer. We have GOT to put some responsibility on the those demanding, not just the supplier (who need to be prosecuting to the fullest extent). Much love, and responsibility. ❤️
@@glcmranger421 thank you!! Glad someone can see where I am coming from. Not from a place of judgement but personal responsibility that every adult should be able to possess.
It is called "poisoning" because in most of our stories none of the evidence indicates the victim knowingly used fentanyl, and evidence (texts, remaining pills, witnesses, etc.) does indicate that the victim believed he/she was using a genuine pharmaceutical. In these stories, the victim used an illicitly manufactured pill made to look like a genuine pharmaceutical product. The counterfeit pill contained fentanyl. Some states are creating laws that identify this kind of death specifically as poisoning. CNN, Fox News, DOJ, FBI, DEA, CDC, LA Times, Washington Post, PBS, the medical community, the addiction treatment community, the scientific community, the law enforcement community, and tons of others refer to this as poisoning.
@@TexasPictures I understand where you all are coming from and my heart breaks for this mom. No mother should have to bury their child… BUT buying illicit anything from a stranger or even a close friend is essentially signing a contract saying “I am willing to take something that I have no idea what is in, including the “poison”. This is why I feel the term was/is used lightly. One is playing Russian roulette’s with their life anytime they take something narcotic wise that has not been prescribed nor verified by a pharmacy. Responsibility has GOT to be taken to some degree. He is/was not a child.
Thank you for saying what I’ve wanted to say for a long time. I went through years of hell with my 2 brothers who were both drug & alcohol abusers, and their bodies became chemically dependent on them (I do not like using the term “addict”; to me, it’s no different than the “R” word). My parents went out of their way physically & financially blaming everything and everyone else for my brother’s behaviors. Rehabs & recovery centers never worked because they do not take the time to get at the root of psychological problems, they do not teach effective and individualized coping mechanisms - all they want to do is get that bed available as soon as possible. Personal responsibility is crucial to becoming clean and that doesn’t happen in 1 or 2 visits with a professional. It’s way too easy to blame a dealer, a friend, etc…
Mam, you are amazing and your son would be so proud of you, I know I am proud as a stranger! I am so sorry for your loss, my heart goes out to you. Your son was so talented. I cannot believe that this keeps on happening in the US and Canada yet nothing is seemingly being done about it. The world stopped for the Covid pandemic yet this epidemic goes on. A whole generation wiped out and no one seems willing to take action. This is so heartbreaking. 💔
I live in another country and I find it wild that a scientific serious vital role is elected. The person with the best qualifications and training should be the coroner.
@@Driftwoodbaby What makes you the almighty one who decides who is qualified and to what extent? Your opinion matters as little as the next person, right? Yes! You can pretend, but that doesn’t mean everyone else has to pretend.
Yeah, Blacks were treated far worse for any drugs -- even weed. Many sat in prison prison for decades for it and crack the same, (eventhough Reagan deliberately placed crack in Black and Hispanic communities). Not trying to be insensitive, but the disparity in how the races have been treated is down-right disgusting. I believe Karma is real.
Your son was so blessed with musical talent. So sorry for your loss. I’m proud of you for standing up for your son. I’m really impressed with your determination & dedication to your family . We need more people like you !
These people act like their drug dealers are licensed pharmacists or chemists. What do they expect? Every single drug user understands that they have no idea what can be in the drugs they ingest.
Ma’am you are so smart and I loved listening to all your knowledge, I wish you would start a RU-vid channel! I think that could help with your grief as well 🙏
I cannot imagine losing one of my kids. The saying once they are addicted it's too late is so true Once you are aware someone is using heroin one should prepare themselves for A loss like this.
I don't know of many families, including my own, that haven't been touched by this crisis. Addiction has no bias. It doesn't care who you are, where you came from, what color you are. It will take you and refuse to let go. I'm so sorry for your loss, I admire your strength and determination.
This mother is bad a$$ & strong! I feel for her pain of the loss of her son via fentanyl POISONING! I admire her strength to take care of her grandchildren from her daughter! We should all thank her for the knowledge she has shared and communicated in this video! Rock on grandma! Keep being the bad mamma jamma that you are! God bless!
I'm so sorry momma...I can only begin to imagine the hurt of losing a child...I pray God gives you the strength to get through this...a mother's love is only understood by other mother's...God bless you and your family...RIP Jimmy 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
I am so deeply sorry for your the loss of your son Jimmy. You have such an incredible, vast amount of knowledge because of fentanyl and how it affects the lives of everyone involved with the deceased loved one; in your situation, your son Jimmy. Thank you for being a force with strength, helping so many people around the world. Jimmy's passing was not in vain. Thanks to you and thousands and thousands of other family members and professionals, you are on a mission to do what you can to save lives, and to stop this deadly drug from claiming other precious lives. Thank you ❤️🙏
You are such an incredible woman. I am so so sorry you have had to endure this tragedy that shouldn’t be a thing. These drugs are carted across our borders in DROVES AND DROVES. Your son will live on through you spreading the word about his pure talent and amazing heart. God bless you and I pray for your family 🙏🏻✝️📿❤️
This is infuriating!!!!! God Bless you and I am so sorry. I have a son in active addiction and have already lost my stepson. I need prayers for Geno. Please. I am so sorry for your profound loss and the way your beautiful sons life was treated!!! I am so grateful you are speaking out and making a change!!
She talks about her son’s heroin usage like it’s a totally normal thing and is complaining about what the coroners office said about the cause of his death. Lady, your son used heroin regularly and you are sitting here bragging about it that you are filing complaints against these people who do their every day jobs? Seriously tho. I m truly sorry for her loss but nothing will bring her son back.
Fentanyl grandparents, and even then some of them are in addiction them selves .. anyway that really put a proper perspective on the truth out here in the United States communities with this opioid epidemic tearing apart young families and young mothers and fathers.. This mother has a powerful voice, and is well articulated with her words and points. She needs to keep fighting the good fight, she’s definitely impactful because she’s impacted me already I can listen to her speak another 30 min honestly. My condolences to you ma’am and your family.. may God bless you and your family and those you’re helping.
So sorry for your loss..and it’s really sad you had to advocate this much for your baby because they didn’t do they’re job but you did a damn good job and I applaud you ..💜💜💜🙏🏾🙏🏾
Wait a minute…. He thought he was buying heroine but he actually buying Fentnyl? The problem is so much deeper than just Fentnyl as evidenced by my previous sentence. The world needs to stop placing the blame on Fentnyl and take a look in the mirror. There you will see the problem & solution at the same time.
I agree. I'm a recovering heroin addict. I had bought what I thought was heroin and as soon as I used, I OD'd. No high, no nod, literally fell out. Mind you, I've unfortunately been on methadone for the past 6 yrs, so I knew there was a possibility of it containing fentanyl. I thought I could handle it, since I have a high tolerance. Boy was I wrong. Got Narcan'ed twice and went into percipitated withdrawal. The worst feeling in the world.
@@Leefuentes5058. I’m in recovery and I’ve heard so many people say, “I don’t OD.” I know where they’re coming from. When I was on the plane to rehab and had just found out they would take my pills when I got there (those particular pills were prescribed by to me, so I thought they couldn’t), I took a handful of them. I was worried I’d overdose and told the treatment center, when I got there, but was asked if I was sure, because if I went to the hospital, I’d be on the streets after that, with no ticket home. I didn’t even feel high, so I just went to bed and was fine, in the morning. A lot of people would have died, but I knew my tolerance. I used to laugh with them, when living people had 5 times the amount it takes to kill someone, when they were taken to a hospital and survived, because it all seemed so subjective and overblown. Then, 5 people I knew died in a year and I began my recovery, in earnest. I’m grateful there was a court order, to hasten my decision, though I do think the U.S: should expunge no -violent subsistence and morals crimes after the person is discharged from the system, because I’ve seen so many people lose their futures, who need something to live for. What people need to know is that no one has tolerance that can allow them to survive the amounts of fentanyl that is often in a single pill or shot, often, these days. If it’s enough to kill an elephant, you’re not going to be able to clear it from your system. I don’t care how much you’ve done. The truth is, there’s no way to know, unless the drugs are tested. What has kept some users alive for so long, in the past, was knowing what they were taking and how much they could handle. Now, nobody knows, unless they produce the product themselves. It could be 1,000 times what would kill a normal person. I’ve heard ISO has 20-100 times the amount of opioids than fentanyl and 5 people in my area died from that, not that long ago. This is nothing we can, in any way, control anymore, so in a way, it is fentanyl that’s killing people. Social and interpersonal problems and individual disorders are why people still take the risk and there will always be people who use drugs to alter their consciousness. There always have been, but because this is such a pervasive human tendency, people will die, when there are such toxic substances around. I dont think we can get rid of the problem, by putting people in jail, but it is a problem that calls for major education efforts and social change.
Thank you for sharing these stories. Such tragedy and heartbreak. So many ..too many... have died prematurely. More needs to be done. Maybe it will be .. with these victims being shown as humans. Praying for all these families. 🙏
Sorry for your loss… to everyone else we need to Hold each other accountable for the decisions that we make… You can NOT trust a drug dealer… EVER… a drug dealer is not a car salesman you cant test out what you are buying so please please please… talk to your children, family and friends to get help for their addiction and that fentanyl is out there
