Fenugreek is THE ultimate when it comes to growth hair masks! Packed with proteins, vitamins and saturated fats, and mucilage, it glides and clings very easily to the hair. The resulting definition is remarkable! My hair shrunk more than normal with fenugreek and it felt slightly dry post rinsed (likely because of the protein). I used my diluted conditioner (video link in info bar) to rebalance moisture. It’s affordable and a little goes a long way. I LOVE fenugreek, in case you couldn’t tell already :-) *Ratio: 4 heaping tablespoons of fenugreek, 2 tablespoons coconut oil (optional), 2 table spoons yogurt (optional), hot water (substitute with herbal tea, coconut water, coconut milk or aloe vera juice. PS: Keep mixing medium above room temperature for a smooth creamy consistency.

DuchessGabrielle I use alot of fenugreek in my hair, in mask lwave in conditioner and haur refreshner spray. it's slightly alkaline so I miss it with aloe vera to lower the alkaline in my hair refresher spray.

DuchessGabrielle great video! Also you added yogurt and yogurt is high in protein as well. That could've been too much protein for your hair. Maybe try avocado or avocado oil for moisture. Thanks for sharing. 👍
@duchessgabrielle
@duchessgabrielle 7 лет назад
You might be right. I don't think I used enough of it here to have such an effect though. I like yogurt because it smooths out the mix really well and it's more wholesome because it's got protein, vitamins, minerals and fats, very similar to a whole avocado. I'm leaning more towards the alkalinity of the fenugreek as cause but not sure yet. I'll measure the pH and see how that compares to the pH of hair
@duchessgabrielle
@duchessgabrielle 7 лет назад
Very good insight! I'm going to measure the pH this weekend and see how it compares to that of hair. I might add a teaspoon of ACV or half cup aloe to tone pH down depending on the results. Thanks for pointing the pH factor out.

Your hair is beautiful and healthy, I swear by Fenugreek! I started using it while natural 4 years ago. I love the results - it's kept my thin hair strong and growing, I sometimes mix with grapeseed oil, peppermint oil for the smell, amla, brahmi powder & horsetail extract sit under a hood from 12 minutes. This past June I got bold - relaxed my hair and continued to treat with Fenugreek mask like every 3 weeks, I still treat my hair as if it's natural by twisting, spraying and moisturing. O.k. moving forward December 2017 approaching 6 months I did a touch up for Xmas and wrapped it. I was really surprised how much it grew, I get compliments from family and other folks about how long and healthy it looks. I tell them to use Fenugreek!! Stay Blessed All......

I have 3b hair type, and all of the ingredients can be found at www.MountainRoseHerbs.com also I love www.HennaSooq.com they do not have Marshmallow Root however but their Aloe Vera & Amla Powder are both 100 grams. I have order from Mountain Rose herbs by the pound. If you have a local Health Food Store you may very well find Marshmallow Root there as well. I use lots of different herbs, powders and ingredients. These 3 work wonderfully on my hair. As far as Aloe Vera Juice it can be purchased at most Health Food Stores and Lily of the Desert is the Brand that I use.

Hi Hon. There are several tutorials on using Fenugreek powder. I have to say this is the best one I have seen. Others offer way too many products which I don't think is very necessary since Fenugreek is so good for the hair. Plus they show a mixture that is thin and watery - some you tubers, not all. Your intructions are so thorough. Thanks a lot.

Thank you for another great video. Fenugreek contains protein, therefore prepooing with coconut oil which binds proteins is not a good idea because it creates a protein overload, hence the dryness. If you had prepooed with another oil the results may have different with a more moisturising effect. Thanks again.
@duchessgabrielle
@duchessgabrielle 6 лет назад
That's a very good point. I think you're right. I'll use my usual blend of oil next time. Thanks for the insight
@rosesnewbeginning3547
@rosesnewbeginning3547 6 лет назад
Coconut itself has no protiene but is acts as a binder. Its binds to the portiene in your hair..or to the protiene in the fenegreek and then transports it to the cortex of your hair and keeps it there.. So using the coconut actualy helps to penetrate the protiene to where it is needed most. Its more potent that way atleast thats my theory. Also Using oils before you do a treatment might impare the absorbtion of the nutrients because the hair is partly sealed already. Some diy add oils butters and auch ti the protiene to have a all in one treatment but i think doing the protiene first and then deep condition you get the best result of both. i think that 4 tablespoons fengreek powder might have bin tat 2 mucb

I will do a video as soon as I can. But just so you know, these muds/herbs/treatments are highly subjective. The only way I have been able to figure out which ones work for my hair was by testing nearly all of them. I typically stay away from fruit (avocado/banana etc) because yogurt, aloe juice, herbal teas or coconut milk are my go to mixing mediums. I have categorized the herbs as cleansers or conditioners. I mix cleansers with herbal tea or aloe juice and the conditioners with the heavier mediums. Sample Conditioner: Amla, Brahmi, Fenugreek (mixed with coconut milk)... heavily coat strands and scalp Sample Cleanser: Shikakai, Aritha, Tulsi (mixed with aloe juice)...often used on the scalp and a little on the strands I'll do a video with better detail but hopefully this helps

Hello. I have used methi monthly for about a year now. I usually mix it with coconut milk or a conditioner with aloe juice and evoo. It is a great powder to use and helps me a lot, but since my hair is protein sensitive, a deep conditioner is always a must afterward. I also find that sometimes the smell is way too potent and stays with me for days. Have you found the smell to be an issue for you?
@duchessgabrielle
@duchessgabrielle 7 лет назад
I think I'm in the minority here but I don't mind the scent at all. It smells like maple syrup to me. Yogurt might have also toned it down a lot. I would suggest a tablespoon of ACV to mask the scent. It will also lower the ph of your mix slightly because fenugreek is alkaline. This will be my next test.

You are right Sandi. Consistency is key especially with these muds. The more often they are in contact with the hair the better. I always rotate them so it feels like I'm using a new product. I'm making a custom mud that combines the ones that are most agreeable to my hair but I will leave room to play with other muds. Bhringaraj is a super herb. I use it on my face and hair. Combined with fenugreek, brahmi and amla its a super mix. :-)

I would do research online to see what others have done. I think I used to take 3000mg a day. I must warn you though that it does have the potential to make your urine smell like maple syrup...lol.

sailormoon206 Did your diet change while using Fenugreek? Just curious because I have small breast and I don't want them to get to large. I know that we ALL gain weight in different area according to the way fat is distributed in our particular bodies. Right now my only interest is in my hair care with Fenugreek powder and seeds.
@sailormoon206
@sailormoon206 7 лет назад
No, I didn't change my diet. When I did research on it a few years back, some people were saying it helped them increase their breast size by a cup but I think some of them were combining it with other herbs. For me, I didn't necessarily gain a full cup probably because I didn't take it long enough. It just helped to make my breasts more full, if that makes any sense. I've seen a lot of videos on youtube from people whose had positive results using fenugreek on their hair, so I would go for it. It's very easy to find in those middle eastern stores and relatively cheap.

Love your knowledge of natural herbs for hair but wanted to ask u when u mentioned yogurt is a good binding agent can u elaborate on that for us plz🤗
@duchessgabrielle
@duchessgabrielle 7 лет назад
Some of these muds have a very coarse texture and won't cling to my hair strands, brahmi is a good example. To make sure the mud clings, I use a mixing medium that will bind to the mud and my hair as well. One example is yogurt or coconut milk. Hope that makes sense.

Hi Duchess Gabrielle, I love your videos. 😊 I have a couple of questions? Is fenugreek powder a good protein treatment mixed with the yogurt? Did you use the fenugreek to wash your hair?
@duchessgabrielle
@duchessgabrielle 7 лет назад
I used this mix and a deep conditioning protein mud. Mixed with yogurt or coconut milk, fenugreek makes a good protein treatment. That means we have to rebalance moisture with moisturizing conditioner afterwards. Hopefully that makes sense

Dilute your favorite conditioner with aloe vera juice and spray your hair liberally. Cover with a plastic cap and let it sit 15 minutes then rinse out. That always works for me. You can also use a coffee grinder to make your fenugreek powder more fine

How much does your hair grow each month? You personally.
@duchessgabrielle
@duchessgabrielle 7 лет назад
Slightly more than a 1/4 inch a month or about 3.5 inches a year. It's important to note that hair growth has no relation to what products you use. There is no correlation between hair growth and products. Growth occurs internally and is dictated by genetics. As soon as you can see your strands they are dead and your body basically has no use for them. Products are for sustenance but they cannot make your hair grow.
