I find that feral take too much damage...Its a cat for crying out loud! Did you ever try catching a cat? Or hitting a cat with anything. Ferals should be the masters of avoidance and they should have an out of combat vanish like a rogue AND also, they are a druid! The swiss army knifes of toons! They should be able to go Bear form and have the same stats as guardian for like 45 secs. Think of it it would be so cool! Ferals are the only wow toons that haven't evolved since Wrath of the leech king
Feral and balance suffer from the same issue. Way too difficult to perform optimally while taking more damage than nearly every other option like themselves. Why take a moonkin when a warlock or mage will take less damage and do more damage.... same for feral with rogues and DH. Feral has no reason to ever be brought, unless both bears and trees in raids aren't worth bringing. It has zero reason for M+.
Luckily rogues are looking like trash, and DH isn't really popping off. Feral right now on Beta have INSANE burst dps, which fits M+ pretty well, and with the meta comp looking like it's leaning towards Bear + Rsham, if your on a group without a Bear tank, Mark of the Wild is probably the most sought after group buff, so you're in.
the reason to bring feral in M+ is because some people just like to play a class they find fun. most of the time if people find a class fun enough to take into high keys, then they're probably performing it optimally! if it's a low key and they don't perform optimally, oh well. it's a low key anyway. saying it has zero reason for M+ is just adding to the list of things sucking fun out of MMORPGs.
@@zblustorm Nobody cares about low keys. You can bring whatever you want and complete them. The only discussion is in higher keys. What makes it all the more important is blizzard's changes are reducing what each person will consider a "high key". So in TWW, if Feral and Balance were safe to take in a 10, they won't be safe over an 8 (numbers may vary). DPS druids simply do not have the survivability that other dps do. Feral is certainly a no go unless your group is willing to carry you.
@@Gumblethebear i would argue really low keys and really high keys are both so niche, 90% of the playing happens in between, id say between 7 and 14 in current m+ levels, and in those levels someone who knows how to play their spec is way better than some random meta chaser
@@nervio2701 Sure, and if people didn't choose groups based on what works at the high end, whether it is absolutely NEEDED or not at their level, then you'd have a point. However, most people do choose groups based on that. If you have a set group that doesn't mind if you play feral, LUCKY YOU, but you are making the group a bit worse by doing so compared to a better spec. It isn't fair, and blizzard should do better, but they never do.
The damage output is too low dude. If you add the survability (gets 1 shot in high keys or needs to spend like 100 hours in bear that lowers move the dmg...). They should bake cat to be able to enter bear form free and use Cat spells for like 5 sec after he enters bear form. And that to be able once every 30 sec. Also all dmg needs like 20% more. It is crazy low compared to other classes(not all ofc)
Cat seems pretty much how it has been for the past 6 ish years. Fun spec with lots of depth that gets you kicked from a lot of pugs when they realise your not balance, at least that's how EU has been. Great video though!
@@michaelyun2407 Let's come back to this comment after mythic raid is out and the tuning is done. I will bet anything, feral is still a niche pick. Viable but you are not getting picked in an ocean of DPS same as always.
@@colevalentine8391MotW is really good and iirc Feral saw play in high level M+ in S1. We'll see how it shapes out. Worst case we host our own keys haha
I was kicked for not being a balance only once in s3 and s4 of DF. Managed to get 2.8k io and all the portals (could've pushed it further, yet I'm not into m+, just wanted to max my gear). Most of the time, I was 1st to 2nd DPS in the party, and in some keys (AA and BH) often did 500k+ overall. I realize that feral sucks as a spec, and it was largely neglected in TWW (especially if you compare it to mages, palas, warlocks, etc - those who got decent rework and really smooth hero talents with cool visuals), yet I continue to main it, since feral was the very first character I made 15 years ago.
And here we are 1 month later and it is exactly where Feral has been for years, in the bin. If you love feral then play it, if you want to always get a spot in end game content roll a mage. 🤷♂
I used to care about that but I switch ed to druid in DF and surprisingly I cared less about the gear than I thought and I enjoyed not playing dress up haha
Wildstalker does not sim as well as Claw. Ravage does not need a damage increase. It's the current only skill Feral has that IS impactful. "It plays similar to DF" - again, you know nothing about Feral. Now, our entire playstyle, the only playstyle that is viable (biting) is built around our 2 minute Berserk cooldown. Which is not how you played in DF, is it. "Survivability looking good" - again, what? Predatory Swiftness yielding your FREE heal is now not even worth the button press outside of Heart of the Wild. It's a waste of a gcd. Ferals are not necessarily in a bad place BECAUSE Rogue & DH are in poor places themselves. This makes cat viable. But only on AOE. Cleaving is virtually impossible for Feral because it can either do Single Target or AoE - IT CANNOT do both due to talent restrictions. So 2 targets? Or switching on to an add in a raid? Enjoy being the bottom of the meter. Learn some information about the spec before making a video on it. And P.S the build that was posted on WoWhead & Icyveins is a meme post among actual 'good' Ferals who lurk in the Dreamgrove.
Hold on, druid of the claw absolutely change your gameplay. Maybe not in pve but in pvp it does. The spec evolves around bigger bites, sure but most importantly around constantly shifting from cat to bear and from bear to cat to maintain bear's armor and health (or 80% of them). This is a really big change in gameplay whereas stalker plays on bleed and hots wich is basically how feral have been played for the most part of the last decade at least.
