Working myself through Opus 35, your brilliant performances are both inspiring and frustrating at the same time. How in the world can I ever attain such mastery ?!
Maestros are Segovia, Williams, Parkening, Russell, Bream... Not me. I am just someone who wanted to record guitar studies to serve as guidelines for beginners. But, to be honest, whatever I play, I practice it a lot first. So, I guess, that is the secret. It's all about hard work. And if I can play something regularly good, that means anybody can. Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad you liked it. Adding some information I would say the most difficult to record was number 20 and that's why I saved it for last. I remember there were some painful stretches to make... or was it difficult barres? I can't recall. Now, if I had to choose my favorite recording of this set I would go with number 21. Greetings!

Tienes razon. Los estudios de Sor van mas alla de lo meramente tecnico. En ellos se combinan acertadamente la tecnica y la belleza. Ciertamente ha sido mi afan captar algo de esto ultimo en la grabacion aunque es ciertamente muy dificil. Sobre lo tecnico, Sor explica que este Op lo escribe porque muchos se quejaron que su op 31 era muy complicado. Imaginate. Saludos!

Excellent. I'm studying Fernando Sor's Op. 35, piece by piece. Your renditions in particular are very helpful. I have a CD of Op.35 by another guitarist, but he forces the music too much. You bring out the melody and harmony delicately. Very easy to listen to. Unfortunately, I can't find any CDs by you. Are they available?

Hello! I mostly try to follow the composer's notes written down on the sheet music. However, I often get carried away by the music and end up with a different tempo or feeling, I have to admit. Greetings!!!

Hi!!! Thanks for the compliment!! In regard to the names, I got them from the Mel Bay book I use for my recordings ("Complete Sor Studies for Guitar"). Last time I checked the Sor files on the Boije Collection webpage the tempo indications didn't differ from those in my book. Greetings!!!
Hi!! I don't know what "ERG" stands for, but if you meant "guitar", it is a Yamaha 131 S. D'Addario strings. I hope that helps. Just a correction: Sor didn't call them "easy exercises" but "VERY EASY exercises" !!!! And, no; they were not that easy to play for me either, in particular # 20. Greetings!!
