The Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 was a 2+2 grand tourer car from Ferrari, introduced in 1972 to replace the 365 GTC/4. Its chassis was derived from that of the Ferrari 365GTB/4 Daytona.
The car was styled by Pininfarina. Following the Daytona, the GT4 2+2 was the second Ferrari to feature the characteristic Pininfarina design feature of a swage line dividing the body into an upper and a lower half.
In 1972, just a year after the debut of the GTC/4, a new 2+2 debuted at the Paris. The 365 GT4 2+2 featured all-new bodywork with little resemblance to the Daytona. The wheelbase was 200 mm (7.9 in) longer at 2,700 mm (106.3 in), but most of the mechanicals, including the engine, were carried over. The GT4 was replaced in 1976 by the new, almost identical looking 400 Automatic.

I don’t know why people hated this car. It’s one of the most beautiful Ferraris ever made

I always thought this model was one of the prettiest Ferraris ever made. Really easy on the eye and as usual, highly desirable.

The 365 400 Ferrari are fantastic. I owned a 400i and it literally howled. Utterly awesome car to drive and nothing like anything else. Up to 100k the suspension was harsh and the car wasn't particularly fast. My 300 6.3 would eat it for breakfast. But beyond that it became a truely fast car with fantastic handling. Utterly superb build quality.

Her consecutive engine sound while accelerating seems a masterpiece next to none, I do assess.

I always like Ferraris in red, but somehow blue really works for this. I suppose it's because it really is a touring car rather than a "sports" car. Lovely.

I like the old Ferrari racers in red, but on the GT Ferrari's from the sixtees and onwards, I dislike it a lot. If I'd own a classic Ferrari from that era I would certainly not like it in red ;-). The thing is, I will never own one haha. Ciao, Walter.

Kathleen Bergeron yea I agree. Honestly, it is a fortune. I still prefer a Alfa.

Enzo Ferrari, the brand's creator, used a blue 365 GT4 2 + 2 for personal travel. Some famous owners of 400 are Pininfarina, Giovanni Agnelli used a 412.

365gt4 or Indy 4700 or a Jarama S....What a hard choice, what a charming dilemma ! (Espada was absolutely stunning yet a bit too much of a head turner as a daydrive grand tourer).

Groet, Walter

WHY MUSIC?!??!

Good design is timeless... this is not one. It has not aged well and the market pricing reflects that. At the other end of the spectrum, we have the Daytona. Priceless.

I note that this is a manual car. It would be a crime against motoring to put an automatic gearbox in one of these.

Certainly!

Any car with a back seat and four passengers is suitable for an automatic transmission, providing it's the right gearing.

The automatic actually worked surprisingly well. Because the V12 had such an amazing rev range. But I would have liked a manual.
