this Amazon is not just a tuned Amazon, its a completley re-engineered car that has an insane buildquality. Volvo was so impressed that they invited the builder to showcase his car at the SEMA show in Las Vegas in Volvos booth. Its a fantastic build
when "for sale" gets put on a window with a custom decal like that it doesn't mean for sale. it mean's "you can't afford this". i don't know how anyone could part with that anyway. this is craftsmanship at it's finest.
In fact i am happy u finaily found a sponsor for ur all hard work we know u do all this for passion but for the sake of time u lose u need to eat travel etc congrats
@Dani01c The 2JZ engine doesent have the name volvo on the valve cover. It's a T6 Engine from the Volvo S80 producing 600 hp. Mattias also have an Volvo 242 with a t6 Engine in it, just type in " Vöx 242 T6 " on youtube and you will find it.
Cool. But, to be fair - the Volvo exists the outside turn at a much higher speed than the 458. So when they "start" the race, the Volvo has a significant amount of extra speed. Oh, and get a windscreen :)
@Dani01c Yes they look very similar, and the sound is pretty sick. The right engine code is B6284 T, and it was on 2,9 L producing 272 hp with 280 ft. lbs.
Gustav, come on man, u need o learn to ignore the idiotic comments. Most of us truly appreciate your work and from some ingrates to complain about that ads?! Are you kidding me?! Keep it up and we look fwd to more races and updates. Best wishes. Z
Salesman : "excuse me sir i have a 50yr old volvo for £250,000 or a brand new ferrari 458 for £200,000, would you like a test drive" Me : "no need the volvo is far more attractive a car, whats that, it's faster you say?"
Why in gods name would you want to sell that masterpiece? Those headers are a work of art and Koenigsegg brakes make it so unique you will never have an imitator.
It's not surprising that a car that is modified by someone who works at Koenigsegg could build a faster car than Ferrari when he was involved in producing some of the world's fastest cars
The Aluminium one over the engine that connects the suspension tower are strut brace, as said before, if you're refering to the black, smaller one connecting the right susp tower to the engine, that's a torque damper, it counteracts the rotation of the engine/gearbox as it aplies torque to the rear differential. The S80 T6 has it standard as does the Alfa 156 GTA.
@john2rds I just know it's a T6 because I followed the build. But you are correct 960 engine and T6 are pretty much the same engine except the turbocharging. And Volvo have been using that head since the 80's/90's for all their 4valve engines from 4-6 cylinders, it was designed by Porsche. And yes my friend is building a T5, gonna be redicoulus
Scott Russell This was filmed in Sweden, and the person driving is the chap who built it, Guy Martin who now owns it "claimed" it was the fastest car in the UK, as much as I love Guy he doesn't really know what else is out there, I mean Red Victor 2 is/was the fastest street legal car in britain.
All that work, time and effort to beat a Ferrari in a straight line and at the end of the day the guy is still driving a Volvo station wagon. Great job who ever you are, because you are now among the ranks of old men and flacid dreams. Next comes the oak wook panels!
Q: Why do Ferrari owners insist on rolling start drag races? A: Because a Ferrari clutch replacement costs $15,000 and is almost a guaranteed result of 1 too many full power standing starts in a Ferrari.
i though same at the beggining, but is not 2JZ hahaha, just looks like, just T6 volvo´s engine, cuz someone said prob. T5, 5inline cant has 24valve, its 20v or 25v in case of 5 per piston! I would know if this engine is old or new one from 2012+ S60s T6? Im dont know so much about volvo's engines
According to pavag.volvcars it is a V6 engine from Volvo 960. Currently it is at 788 horsepower. Not sure when the video was made, but in 2006 the engine was at 600hp. "Under huven hittar man den sexcylindriga motor som satt i Volvo 960. "
@McLarenMercedes I see what you are saying, but you missed the point. For some people like me, That doesn't impress me. If I put a Giant turbo in my Honda minivan or whatever and make gobs of horsepower, and manage to beat a lamborghini in a straight line, that doesn't make my minivan better than a lamborghini. That's my point.
the only thing it can help with is side to side movement of the strut towers and how much do they move on that car.. I'd like to see test data before I believe it has any effect whatsoever
Seriously can't blame Guy buying it. He's a total petrol/diesel head. I love him to bits but he's got his own personal museum to keep his bikes n cars. He's still got a TY80 which was his first bike to share with his sister, Sally as children.
does anybody know whether 458 is going to launch a stripped out light version of its current 458? like what they have done with the 430? i mean Scuderia ?
i don't need to learn anything i'm french and i just put some words after anothers and you understand me perfectly ....now if you want, we can start to talk French to see how is YOUR grammar? shall we?
lukethekanefan -_- You think Guy Martin has what it takes to build a car like this? And of course i'm not talking about money... The car was built by Mattias Vöcks, that happens to work for Koenigsegg... Guy Martins input on this one was signing the check.
lukethekanefan the builder of this car is actually named Mattias Vöcks and he works for Koenigsegg. at the time of this vid it was for sale as you can see on one of the windows during the close up look. Guy Martin bought it from him.
@m5boarddotcom No, no, the end is the best place... don't put it in the beginning or the middle, keep it where it is, that way I know when to x out the video before the ad, lol.
