I agree 100%. I used to watch every race (in surround sound) and go to at least one race every year. Now, why bother. Bernie destroyed the series with the hybrid power plants. 'May as well watch Toyota Prius race with leaky exhaust systems!

Learning, admiring and discerning the various sounds of specific race engines, and street engines is a passion of any automotive enthusiast. The ungodly scream of the V12 and V10 F1 cars were, in my opinion, the pinnacle. Hearing them in person would evoke a visceral , emotional response from myself and every true race fan. Many race classes have deteriorated over the years for a variety of reasons, rule changes etc. When I heard the V6 cars in person, especially compared to all previous F1 experiences, it was a complete let down. All you have to do to confirm this is to explore RU-vid videos. Here you will find hundreds that are titled with titles boasting of the sound from vintage F1 cars, Can Am cars, and many, many more. I defy you to find one that praises the sound of a modern V6 F1 power plant.

V12 forever. The upshift sound is so violent, irresitible. It sound more crude.

The V10 sounds more brutal and aggressive but the V12 has more of a tuneful sound. It's like the difference between bass heavy headphones and headphones with a wide sound stage. The bass heavy are great to listen to and have their own unique badass experience but after a while it will become hard to listen to, same with the V10's.

so the F1 in the 80s was dead? -.- , because in that years, called one of the best f1 years with mansell, prost, senna, nelson piquet senior... was with v6 cars. i think its not the engine the thing that gives excitement to f1 its how acts the car, the 2014 cars seems more slower and maybe a bit more hard to drive.
