@ dat 1200....Yes...the story of Ferrari is , well. Big. .! Between the racing division on one hand, and the street cars on the other, it is a gigantic subject. Those 50's and 60"s front engines Ferraris with the. V - 12 engines and Pininfarina bodies were the coolest ever. As a kid I would ride my bicycle up to Bob Grossman's Exotic car dealership on Route 59 in Nyack, NY. in 1965 -66 he had every cool auto, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Abarth, Ferrari, Jaguar Cobra, ...that is where I first saw the exotics and my first car was a 1961 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spyder with Supperlegarra Touring body in Pearl white. !! That Alfa sells for over. $ 100,000 nowadays. . I bought it from a college kid from Ho-Ho Kus New Jersey in April 1968. for. $ 725. yeah...and now I don"t even drive.

Enzo Ferrari is a man who lived his dream. Enzo's racing team's 🏁 driver deaths sadly was a part of racing during the age. Jack Stewart once said that it was a period in racing history when "sex was safe and racing was dangerous." I'm sure Enzo would have preferred that no driver ever died. Enzo did wasn't without his flaws. However Enzo's decision to sell to Fiat and not Ford was his best decision. He finally got his dream to focus on the racing 🏁 team while Fiat focused on the Ferrari road cars. I don't think the Ferrari road cars would be the quality and beautiful design under Ford ownership. Tho it did spirehead some exciting history for Ford. Remaining under Italian ownership and design retained it's prestige in world class sports. It is wonderful to learn that ownership in shares by his son Pierro and John Alcan retaining it Italian heritage... Rest in Peace Enzo Ferrari!! 🏁 🏆

Back in the day, if you were a up and coming, young, driver you'd die for a ride with Ferrari. This competitive, passion is still evident today, even with the safety measures that make this endeavor a lot less hazardous. The beauty, sound, dominance, and passion of this man's cars, have captured the elements that turn a fascination into a life long obsession, with these cars and this brand. A complicated man who only cared about racing and his cars winning. As the incidents with Moss, Lauda, Surtees and others proved, (Villeneuve may have been the only exception), it was the car that mattered, not the man who drove it. Along with Gianni Agnelli, the man who defined and represented Italy globally in the second half of the 20th Century.

Actually, Enzo Ferrari was born on the 18th of February 1898. Due to heavy snow storms, his Father could not register his birth until the 20th of February, and back then in Italy, date of births were based on when the birth was registered. In most cases, this would have been on the day of the birth, but on occasions, such as happened with Enzo Ferrari, the registration was delayed until a day or two later.

The creation of the Ferrari car is also based on the blood, the wounds and the death of the racers who showed the heroism themselves and unpredictable coolness in critical situations till the end,and so this everything laid the foundation to next steps of the Ferrari car's improvement. And the lives of the whole family in themselves, the lives of the personnel as a whole heroically contributed to the enterprise called FERRARI.

He cannot be accused of 'sending young drivers to their deaths'.. He was no politician or Field Marshall. There will always be a group of talented young drivers desperate to test their potential in whatever car is available, keeping them out of a car would be way more difficult than getting them into one, and the faster the car, irrespective of the increased risks, will always be their first choice.

Ferrari is by far the most successful F1 team in history, becoming the first to celebrate its 1,000th race at the Tuscan Grand Prix in 2020. It won its first constructors' title in 1961 with Phil Hill, Richie Ginther and Wolfgang von Trips leading its line-up, although the German driver was killed at the penultimate race having led the drivers' standings going into the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Controversially the race wasn't stopped after the accident, allowing Hill to take the chequered flag and the title by a single point.

While the mediocre and ambitious American presidents and the paranoid Soviet tsars competed for world hegemony, two men defined the century of automobiles. One of them was Enzo Ferrari and the other was Ferdinand Porsh. The Austrian approached Hitler and the Italian prospered during Mussolini's regime. Both managed to survive the war and distance themselves from the defeated totalitarian regimes. Ferrari became a true icon of the success of design and the Italian automobile industry in the post-war period. But it was Formula-1 that made him a global myth.

"Racing is a great mania to which one must sacrifice everything, without reticence, without hesitation" "The Ferrari is a dream - people dream of owning this special vehicle and for most people it will remain a dream apart from for those lucky few." "Ferrari is one of those special companies that sell significantly less of its core products than of its complementary merchandising products and services. This is possible because the cars represent a lifestyle that millions of people around the world aspire to, but which is out of reach for the average consumer due to its high price range. Merchandising products, on the other hand, represent these values perfectly and are much more affordable, so the masses buy key chains, mugs, and t-shirts. Branding is an art that aims to have your brand represent a well-defined value. When your company has become synonymous with the solution, you have got a winner." @@catholicdad It's all figurative language and you need to understand racing culture. The "pink mist" is a high level concentration where you stop thinking to do things and just go brainless. The logistics of driving is not new, even the Egyptians would read the natural world like a dashboard to know when to plant etc. Which is why F1 teams probably have the logistics to run the world but governments won't allow it. By the way I heard car came from chariot and there are sophisticated tempers attached to racing, as in the words of Senna, is life and in essence truly religious to humans. Shot up and drive.

Enzo Ferrari didn't send young men to race or die. He offered a seat in one of his cars to a team of energetic, capable drivers who wanted to drive Ferrari. The sad fact is, racing at the speeds of an F1 or any other competion car of any make is dangerous and some of those drivers will die. It is as it is. The pursuit of passion is a double-edged sword at best because as much as you drive it, it drives you. It consumes you and forces you willingly to live your life in its shadow. It is, and will always be, your ultimate mistress.

I have nothing bad to say about Enzo Ferrari. This was a great documentary. I would love to see another one focusing on just the cars. I proudly wear my Ferrari cap!!! Sal : )

It sounds like Enzo was a man that refused to compromise. His namesake cars make him immortal.

As a kid we joked FIAT was an acronym for, "Fix It Again Tony." Foreign cars to the U.S. had a reputation for very poor reliability, expensive replacement parts, and astronomically expensive repair bills. Now foreign cars are common in most cosmopolitan, American cities.

No matter what you say, without Enzo Ferrari, the world of motor racing and sports cars would have been compromised. In true Italian fashion, he embodied passion, emotion and amazingly crafted motorcars that reached heights that made our lives as automotive enthusiasts richer. Viva Italia. Viva Enzo!

It’s a shame that Ferrari dealers have alienated so many US customers by their utter lack of service and obnoxious behavior. This just tarnishes Ferrari as a brand. Ferrari has been a disappointing F1 team for 15 years and that streak shows little sign of improving in the near future. Hoping they do something positive soon.
