Introducing the Purosangue, the DBX707 and the Bentayga S - three of 2023’s finest super SUVs. Which one is best? CAR magazine’s James Dennison and Ben Barry find out.

Well, we have to also consider it's the least "SUV" like as well. In fact, I cannot imagine how it actually qualifies as an SUV. It's like a very slightly lifted vehicle that lacks nearly every attribute that makes and SUV an SUV. It's an SV without the U. lol If I'm going to compromise that much on a vehicle, why not just get a proper Ferrari, and snag another vehicle to handle the utility? A nice Range Rover perhaps? It'll be far, far, far more useful, and it's a fraction of the Ferrari's cost. I suppose that might be an unpopular take to some, but I don't see the point of this vehicle, despite it being pretty cool all things considered. At least the Bentley still has the attributes of an actual SUV and the Aston is kind of "in the middle".

A mile muncher offering comfort, space, refinement and driving pleasure. This is Ferrari being jacked up, fast and shouty. Would be much more interesting to see a Cayenne Turbo S in comparison to the DBX and Purosangue. The Bentley is a car built for maximum comfort, not for sportiness. The "S" is just for ppl to have more PS but not for driving sporty. Porsches are the best way to compare other sporty cars to the state of the art of the car industry

Funny how the Ferrari SUV is still not any more roomier than the GTLusso... powertrain and gearbox practically the same, but now raised up people are calling it a home run.

@@miks564 performance-wise it's going to be worst than the other super SUVs guaranteed. It's heavier and the torque vectoring system is unpredictable in the corners. Urus, Cayenne GT, and perhaps the DBX too will certainly walk it. Those cars are also more practical too. The only saving grace this SUV has is the exclusive V12. I would much rather have a proper driving supercar, and a proper family suv. Funny is that combined it's still cheaper than this

I prefer the sound of this Ferrari to the 812. There is a beautifully guttural start at the lower revs, rising to a scream. The range is greater in this compared to the 812. No contest here. Without doubt the Ferrari is in a different league to Bentley and Aston.

Drove the Ferrari, owned a Bentley, and do not want an Aston. The Ferrari interior is not as plush (100% correct) but amazingly luxurious and the electrochroamatic roof option, never mentioned, is a game changer that neither Bentley nor Aston have.

My real question is why don't suv's use air or hydraulic lift/drop to lower ride height for most driving and lift when you want? Could make them feel way more sporty and then lift when you need clearance. Yes, it would be expensive to do, but you'd gain mpg, handling and make it much easier to get in/out. Ferrari has that ability, but doesn't go that low. Trucks, same thing. Can get the clearance when offroad when needed.

Not sure how the omission of Turbo GT or Urus performante made sense here? To be fair the Turbo GT creams all of them by a large margin for performance, competency and all round usability - the Purosangue would only win if purity and emotion were the only criteria.
