Ferret madness starts at 2:40 so keep watching (or fast forward) - Ferrets Teun, Yuki and Spike playing in the livingroom! The real ferret madness starts when the RC-car is released so keep watching!
@@nataliedrozd642Male ferrets that not have been neutered can smell really bad. They also have glands that can produce a musky smell but they don't use it very often, mostly when they are scared by something. Some people remove the glands, I never did. Neutering is more and more considered being unhealthy for the ferret in the long run, so I use hormon implants for the males instead, they last about 3-4 years so it's more expensive. Washing a ferret doesn't really help, only for a few hours. So I don't wash them at all. They are perfectly capable of cleaning themselves. I only wash them if they get too old, when they are sick or when they tried to dig up a plant in my garden. Just keep the cage clean, replace the cloths and clean their potty every day and there wont be much to smell. I don't smell my ferrets at all, but that's also because you get used to the smell of pets, whatever pet it is.
My first was a female named Shazbot. I waited until I was 52 to get one. Had five when our house burnt down and lost all of them. It's been ten years and I still miss them. I may never forgive myself, even if it wasn't my fault. One of the five was a registered therapy animal that went to visit seniors. He was the only registered ferret cleared for visiting.(his name was Beau Zeau.) And he actually liked wearing his Christmas vest! You should also look up ferret math. Sorry to run on, I just think the little guys are the best!
That dig box is brilliant. They love to dig and that is a brilliant way to give them a place to do it and not make a huge mess. That car is a great idea as well. Fantastic ferret owner right here.
@@elijah4430 yes I think so. If you want to have a dig box, they are better options than sand as it can get in their eyes, ears, nose and it can be dangerous if they eat it. I would suggest packing peanuts as my ferrets like to burrow and then wriggle around in them, or coco coir blocks as these turn into a pet safe soil which ferrets love but it is messy. Or you could try plastic ball pit balls.
They are all so happy, and even with the noise of the rc car I still heard them chuck. I miss my little buddy, he lived for 7 years and was the nicest little dude ever. Never bit a single person his whole life, not even strangers.
ours used slippery floors to their advantage. We had a fairly large dog as well (90 lb pointer / blue heeler mix) who loved playing with them. The ferrets would dart around a corner and the dog, well, he'd keep on sliding no matter how hard he tried.
I went from: -Beginning of the video, they're all pretty much going: "FREEDOM! FREEEEDOOOM!!" -When the car appeared : "OH MY GOD! GET IT! GET IT GET IT GET IT! CAAAAAAAAR!!!!" It's too adorable. I can't even-!! XD
When I was a kid, my dad had a ferret named, “Frisky” seeing this video brought back so many great memories. Hearing the little pitter-patter of their feet running around on the floor almost moved me to tears. They’re such fun little animals, very playful. RIP Frisky, miss you little dude
Ok, ferrets have me convinced there is a God, and before creating the world, God and the angels sat around brainstorming: God: Ok, so I have this prototype of a new rodent here... Archangel Michael: Oh, that's so cool! But, just for a little variety, make it rodent-like....but actually a carnivore instead Archangel Gabriel: Yeah, and make it really long, too. You know...like those "wiener dogs" you showed us last week! Lucifer (pre-rebellion): Build in some escape-artist tendencies. That'll make it extra cute! It should be super-playful, as well...
I remember this video popping up on my suggestions 4-5 years ago, and it’s where my love for ferrets began, and I wanted to have them ever since. Almost a month ago I bought my two girls, and this popped up today what a memory! 💕
What a great setup! Just sort of your normal, crazy ferret fun, then the car comes out and its Katy bar the door! I just love ferrets. They are so smart and hilarious! Yours are very lucky, and obviously very happy!
Awwwwww, I'm so jelly! I love these little cutie pies so much but can't own 1 bc of where I live. Bless you for sharing your beautiful family of ferrets 🥰
This is hilarious. I used to have lots of ferrets, very much miss them. They were so much fun. I keep this up on my computer and have watched it multiple times. It's always a good laugh!
so glad you know how to Ferret. My ex had many pets, but never let her ferret out of a cage. Just a hammock to sleep in and nothing else. They're the most playful creatures in the world they NEED to play!!
I had rescue ferrets for years. Everyone of them had a unique personality. I loved them so much. Now I miss being able to have ferrets so I watch videos others have posted. Thank you for posting this great video!
Lol I love how they reacted to the RC-car "Hey that's kinda nea- OH FUCK" "AH OH FUCK ASDFJDFFNSNSDFKDNSLKDWJ" "GET OUT OF THE WAY" "I'm trying D: " "FUCK IT'S COMING BACK WHAT DO WE DO!?"
@MB Last - there's so much to tell about these great animals. Some things that spring to mind are: Some ferrets don't like strangers so make sure they meet other people when young, so you have someone who can take of your ferret when you're on a holiday or sick. Make sure you have enough money to go to the vet if needed. They need to be out of their cage for at least 2 hours a day. Play with your ferret! Accept that ferrets can take up to 6 months before they fully accept you, it can take a lot of patience. Prepare your room or house for them, they like to dig out plants. get into your subwoofer or collect your remotes and hide them :P Food quality is extremely important for ferrets to keep them healthy. My ferrets get "Hills kitten" or "Totally Ferret" and also mice, chicks, dried chicken treats and other whole prey and raw foods. The kibble bowl is just for the times they run out of meat.
***** Ferrets almost always pee/poop in a corner, so if you catch him about to do so just pick him up and put him in the litter box. After he finishes give him a treat
I had a great ferret and I named her "Weasel". She is still alive, but I moved across the country and was unable to take her with me. She is living at a home now with a very nice person who has 2 other ferrets and she is just as happy as can be, and I'm SO GLAD!! And while I see she's happy there, I miss my ferret SO MUCH. :-( She was the most loyal and the best pet I've ever owned and we all know that they can only stand still for about...2 seconds before they are off! She knew if I had a bad day and she would climb up on my desk, jump up on my right shoulder and just sit there looking at me until I put my finger up...then she'd lick it and then she'd bolt for the desk again...but she would wait as long as I wanted her to. I'm not sure a lot of people understand that these little animals know you, and the respond to you so trying to find my keys or the soles of my shoes was never a problem. :-) I wanted to thank you both for putting this video up for us to view, and I learned a lot just watching your little guys go! Also, if I ever get another ferret, I'll get 2 for the interaction...and I will definitely get a RC Car! That was a riot! Thanks for making me laugh... I needed it!
You said you couldn't take her with you when moving across the country, yet into a part of it that allows Ferrets as house pets, thus talking getting 2 new ones now... That don't make any sence... You should have taken her with you, and get a partner for her while there.... I would... I would not leave my baby girl if and when moving to another place... Never Ever....
Omg I laughed my butt off when you got the car out! And your ferrets are beautiful and I have three of my own one male and 2 females ! You got to love those sweet little babies !
we got a Ferret in around 1980 when i was about 8 and had her till i was 16, watching her and our cats play and of course joining in was always great. my father passed when i was 25 and i had our last cat till he passed. i have never been able to bring myself to get another pet since my beloved kitty my old girlfriend gave me passed about 12 years ago. i cant go through the heartbreak of losing beloved pets anymore.
Ferrets are the funnest and funniest pets I've ever owned. I had 4 throughout my life, and I'm thinking about getting another one after not having one for nearly 20 years. My four bandits loved stealing socks and full, raw potatoes from a bin in my mom's kitchen and hiding them under beds and couches. It was actually quite funny, we never got mad. They can be litter trained like cats, too.
I just adopted our family's 3rd ferret from a shelter last week. Our 1st died last year and it was really heartbreaking. Growing up my mom was always told ferrets were mean, but when she met him at the shelter he was so sweet he changed her mind. They're great little friends and I think our remaining ferret will be happy to have another companion once she meets him. I'm glad we were able to give him a home and thankfully the local shelter is pretty empty since the animals get adopted quickly.
@Hannah Dillon - maybe you can visit a ferret shelter with your mom so you can make her change her mind about "stinking" ferrets. True, a mature male ferret that isn't neutered smells really bad. But my males Spike and are neutered and Yuki has a hormone implant. You really can't smell I have ferrets at my place, as long as you clean up the cage in time.
Tori Center Neutering a ferret is believed to increase the risk of adrenal disease when ferrets become older. Instead a hormonal implant the size of a grain of rice can be injected under the skin of the ferret, no anaesthesia needed. It lasts for 2 up to 4 years (depending on the implant) so you need to renew it. It's a bit more expensive but it works very well for Yuki. I will do the same if ever a new ferret joins the "fesnyng".
I have always wanted a ferret... Except my mom's sister had one and she said it smelled. (I believe her... Partially.. ) It changed her mind about getting a ferret °_°
Spirit of the Wild I am getting a ferret after a year of research and contemplation. Ferrets obviously have a distinct smell when you hold them up to your nose... not unlike a cat or dog. However, the smell most people complain about is due to not cleaning cages properly, and diet. You can't feed ferrets the kibble you buy at petco. They need a primarily meat diet. I have discussed with many people that those who properly clean and care for their ferrets don't notice a strong smell like others do. Would you agree?? channel4ferrets
@Rainbowfoxbear AJ - I don't know how much you pay for a healthy ferret in your country. I know in the USA there's the American Ferret Association, they have information about breeding, etc. Getting two at once should be fine when they grew up together. I was lucky with my 3 boys who get along very well but it's no guarantee. I never heard of one ferret killing another one but the stress can make it sick (diseases like stomach ulcers) or even kill it for sure. If you get 1 or 2 ferrets, try to find information about the breeder. You can also look for ferrets from shelters, sometimes they have 2 or 3 ferrets who came in as a group or have ferrets who get along well. Have fun with your furry creatures!
i had a roommate once who had a ferret when we moved in, and we didn't know how he would react to our cat, but they ended up being best buds, it was so funny because they slept, played and ate together (the cat ate it's food, and the ferret ate his, we didnt let them eat eachothers foods or anything) i would have never guessed they would be pals.
I had one that did the same thing. I used to have a Schnauzer too - aka "ratter", and I was terrified he'd snap the ferret in half. Turns out the ferret was the bully, lol. Outweighed by 12 pounds and constantly harassing the pooch...rousting him out of bed and ambushing him.
It is a great idea to let them chase that little RC car. It triggers their hunting instinct, and that way you keep them happy, allert, and healthy. GOOD JOB
tell her that you can put lavender on the ferret's bedding. It helps with the smell, if it doesn't work very well try getting it on a better diet, and keep it's cage/bedding cleaner. do NOT bathe it if you think it smells. Continuously bathing it can actually make it smell worse, only bathe it when it gets into messes, not so much because of a smell.
Maddy M it's actually dry rice! Sand isn't a good idea for that reason you stated. Plus it's a pain in the butt to clean. But rice is fun for them to dig
Wow what a beautiful bunch of furkids!!!! they must be the happiest group ever!!!!! you have so much to help them exercise play and let loose. so clean and well placed. excellent ideas and help for those needing some guidance .... they look super happy healthy and well balanced...but best of all they look joyful and LOVED!!!!! They are so out Going and look so happy! keep up the fantastic work with your wee family!
Oh my god!! This took adorable to a whole new level as soon as that car came out. I already can't wait until I get a pair of my own, but this just brought a massive smile to my face. I'm just waiting for collision payout on my totaled car to come in and then I'm getting them. Pets can bring a smile to your face even on the worst day of your life. Their value is priceless.
as an oldie now in new zealand we not alowed to keep ferrets here by law. my brother and i had ferrets 30 years ago. i really enjoying watching the mischief and play, especially the jumping about backwards and falling over and chasing.
These cuties are awesome! You have an excellent setup for them and I'm glad you let them out to play like this because they SO need it!! Hearing their little feet/nails go tap, tap, tap on the floor and their adorable squeaking just made my night! :)
