I like using a sharpie marker to mark where the cable sleeve sits then transfer marking to new cable. Great video!

Awesome step by step video. First timer changing out throttle cable on my 2013 Ferris 3100 z. Yes it’s a 2013 and still running strong and cuts 3 acres every week. Thanks for the video. Saved me time and money going to the dealer.

Great video, not too much info, just enough to do the job. I also like that the camera is still and you can see what he is doing with good lighting. I never leave comments I mean never but this was a big help to me.

I have the 61" version of that machine with the 36hp engine. You are correct that it is a beast of a mowing machine.

Ferris was purchased by Briggs, but they still build them the Ferris way in an upstate New York facility. I have the smaller 700 model with a Kawasaki engine. Great machines and highly recommended.

Looks like a pretty cool tool. I have two 46" Riders, but man would I love to have something like that!!! My neighbor has a Skaggs Zero Turn that's got a pretty wide cut, with 3 blades, I think. I'm so jealous, but I got a 2011 Troy-Bilt Horse 46'' XP Hydrostatic Kohler Courage SV620 well used for $300 that I'm fixing all the rust and holes on and a Sears Craftsman Limited Edition VTS DLS 3500 20HP OHV B&S 46'' my best friend gave me because he sold his house and knew my Troy-Bilt was being repaired. I gave him $200 for it and had to make him take the money. I love that man so much! He was the first one ever to call me Brother that I felt like really meant it and he's proven it over and over. We became best friends shortly after meeting.

Man I like my Ferrises Donny boy I've got a Z1500 I've been running for 22 years the other two I've had for almost 15 years now a 2100 and a 3100 big black Z baby! the 3100 is leaps and bounds better than the other two thou it Cadillacs over rough ground like you're floating in mid air @ WOT FULL STICKS AHEAD !! Speed wise it will stomp any other I've ever put it up against and because the weight balance distribution is so much better it doesn't slide the rear tires when you have to make an abrupt sharp turn that thing just spins axis on a dime and quickly darts wherever you point it without drag assin' rear tires and without rutting out the grass and even though that machine is so much bigger than the 1500 as long as you have the room to get the machine in between obstacles it has much more sure-footed confidence to get her done much faster and it has much better traction in the mud but just don't get that big beast bottom out stuck it's like trying to pull a semi out of the mud 😁👍

Is it normal to have a broken throttle cable or is it rare? Should I be looking for a reason that causes a throttle cable to break? Thanks for sharing and this replacement information appears to work on most zero turns. Your videos have helped me gain the confidence needed to solve a multitude of problems.

I saw the real mechanic scurry out from under the deck in your closing scene, little chipmunk, but wow that thing is a beast, even has a seat belt, 36hp vanguard yikes, beautiful machine, I have the snapper pro 50 z turn, and I love it. Wow though 95hrs and the throttle cable snaps and it's a solid core cable, wonder why it snapped.

That’s an awesome machine. The only thing that bothers me is the future of Briggs that owns Ferris. I wanted that new is800 but the price was more than my budget.

Hey Donyboy, I was wondering if you were going to have any of these Ferris zero turns coming into your shop. I had a 1500Z and the jets had fallen out of the carburetor. I had a feeling of what it was. I miss your troubleshooting with your student dealing with chainsaws. Have you changed a snapper rear wheel drive with the 11hp briggs??

I'm having problems with my carb. And can't make it run. Is there any way you can send me a diagram of the hoses. It will turn on but won't accelerate

Why not just replace the wire inside the cable, cut to length an put in a z bend?

So less than a 100 work hours and throttle cable broke? Hm... poor quality or what? I really like that fuel gauge on mower I wish I had one on my lawn tractor.
