I'm a UPRR conductor and i will say this, "challenge a train...you lose!!" I only speak this out of experience and that i have two fatalities because of silliness like what's on this video.
@@kishascape Alright that's a little harsh. Should he be paying more attention? Sure, but the grade crossing used to block the road wasn't working as shown in the description. Again, it's still the drivers responsibility to pay more attention but that stuff really needs to be maintained for instances like this.
No.... Do YOU just up and STOP at EVERY railroad crossing without flashing lights just because you might have heard a train horn?? Of course not. And this didn't happen in the USA. Because if it HAD, that train would have been required to STOP before the crossing and had a FLAGMAN there to make sure that the crossing was "CLOSED to traffic" before the train could proceed (at restricted speed).

Can we appreciate the fact that this guy didn’t turn the camera away at the exact moment the train hit the truck. Turning away at the single most important moment seems to be a trend nowadays.
"Posing a threat to drivers"? In this case, the driver posed a threat to himself! Even with the crossing gates and lights not working, it was obvious the train was coming. The horn was blaring well ahead of time, and the truck driver was stopped, and then he drove very slowly over the tracks. Plenty of time to react.

With an impact like this, what does it mean for the connection between the truck and the trailer? Is the truck totaled even though it doesn’t get hit directly?
in the drivers defence: Tree's obstructed the view, making it difficult to judge train location there were no gates, so no refference on distance there either Against the truck triver: he was obviously trying to beat the train many blasts of the horn a rail fan was standing by flashing lights and bells
Unfortunately most or some of the railroads crossings in mexico that have flashing lights, bells, and gates we're not working Some didnt work at all and some we're late responds

Este colegio nunca hizo alto total y volteo para ambos lados q es lo q hay q hacer en cruce de vías y mucho más en la pocision q el iba. El punto ciego w tú mencionas. Da la impresión q no vio nunca las vías ni señalamientos de las mismas. Cuando ya se percató ya tenía el tren encima y aceleró sin lograr evadir el impacto. Es mi opinión

Comprensible que el conductor no pueda ver el tren por el giro a la derecha que está dando, inaceptable que no oiga el pitido de advertencia del tren tantas veces.

En esta clase de accidentes de verdad que no se puede entender la estupidez de los choferes, muchas veces no entienden que en sus manos llevan la vida de muchos pasajeros cuando se trata de accidentes de autobuses.

Vandalism has caused yet another accident that could have been avoided. It’s really sad that Mexican railroads have trouble maintaining their crossings.
No one else finds it incredibly strange that this camera man saw what was happening way ahead of time and could have easily stopped it and chose to do nothing but film it
