Thank you, it’s greatly appreciated, and my goodness I should’ve thought about the time zones for the US 😎 you definitely can go to bed and watch it tomorrow morning LOL 🐅
@@ConvinceMeAudio I am using the same Ferrum combination paired with the rme adi2 dac and Dan Clark expanse, and the character of Ferrum is just as satisfying and enjoyable as you mentioned. Looking forward for more reviews from you.
Your audio content is way out of my league and even where I see myself going in the hobby but I enjoy them so much. Keep being you and making awesome videos!
Great job, as always. One comparison that may be valuable to add is to the Enleum 23R - given its competing form factor and ability to drive the Susvara. If you ever get your hands on that one.. pls share…
It has already been here reviewed and left LOL, the review shall be released in a couple of weeks And you can be sure there are plenty of comparisons between the two within that review Thank you so much for the kind words glad you enjoyed the review
Ok got the Ferrum stack in-house with my Dave + Farad3. I definitely hear the warmth this imbues. Soundstage decreases compared to solo Dave. Slight loss in transparency. Treble is a lot smoother. Some might hear it rolled off but I think it’s just darker. Mids are more sultry. It’s a good combo for Susvara but I think it takes away what I like about the Susvara Dave combo. I want increased soundstage, treble to stay as sparkly as ever, etc. planning to sell and buy the AHB2 again.
I haven’t tried these units, but I did just get the Burson Soloist GT, and if you can get that one in for review, I think you’d like it as well. It makes all my cheaper headphones immediately sound more technical.
I don’t own anything quite that power-hungry. But I love how it brings out the low end in every headphone you use with it. The soundstage is massive and I also appreciate that they went with a reference sound signature. I don’t personally want the higher frequencies softened or rolled off.
Gangsta. Your setup sounds amazing. Mono AHB2 :). I used to own 1. I also heard from others that AHB2 goes a bit deeper but went Ferrum this time around to add a bit more sweetness etc. Need more soul in my chain ;)
Great review. I have the Ferrum Oor/Hypsos stack usually paired with the Gustard X26 Pro DAC. Overall it sounds great but I wish Ferrum had a dedicated DAC for the Oor. I know about the Erco but the thing is I like separate components.
@@johnratcliffe6438 no idea mate, honestly seen as a lot of units for me comes across the pond But if you reach out to Mimic audio, I’m sure they will ship it over Might even get some kind of discount. Possibly if you say you saw the CMA review, I don’t hold me to that
I just tried another two box HPA this weekend which was disappointing. So with that itch scratched, it's back to trying to decide between Oor with Hypsos or Bliss. Thoughts? I think Bliss may just edge it, but I will be adding May KTE shortly and I really am not sure if I want a rack full of Holo Audio if that makes sense? Also keen to get your thoughts on Volot as a TOTL SS HPA choice in comparison to Oor and Bliss. Thank you.
I’m using the OOR with HYPSOS , with Chord mojo2 as a DAC . Do you think I’m limiting the performance of the OOR / HYPSOS? Also have a Fiio K9 pro ess , but prefer the sound and synergy with the mojo2. Also thinking on getting a Holo audio spring 3 level 2 … but it’s gigantic and expensive don’t know if it’s worth.. Keep the good work , you are inspiring!
I love the Mojo 2 Genuinely it’s one of my favourite portable products, but you can take the amplifier at a later date to a much much much higher performance, But I think for now you’re okay, you don’t need to worry much, but putting something like a may or a Dave even a spring three on the OOR is a whole new experience The amplifier scales up tremendously
@@f.evangelista The May is slightly better yes probably about 15% tops maybe 20% if you’re really pushing it, but it’s definitely not worth another extra 2 1/2 thousand dollars
So I have a Dave + Farad3 PSU. Bought the Ferrum stack. Excited to hear the results. I will be using Susvara and Solitaire P. I strong recommend the Farad3. Never tried the Sean Jacobs but heard it is possibly better. LPS makes the Dave sing. I am not lying. Sounds like Dave 2.0. I actually owned the M-scaler but didnt find the improvement delta to be that big for my ears. Not so with the Farad3. :)
You are also listening to Enleum Amp-23R. I read some comparisons with Ferrum Oor&Hypsos. It looks like there’s some difference but the price makes Ferrum better option. I’ve listened to Oor&Hypsos and Enleum in store twice. First time Ferrum was way above Amp-23R. I really didn’t understand the hype. A few days ago I had another session with the two amps. It turned out that there was something off the first time I’ve listened to Enleum. This time it sounded much more like Oor. I mean one of them may be better but I’d need more time with them to say for sure. Enleum seems to be more neutral and polite (or maybe right). Oor was more fun with a presence of air between instruments. Now I’m thinking if I should get Ferrum stack (seems the smartest option) or Amp-23R (massive price but for me it looks better, has a remote and the option to listen to speakers). I hope to see your comparison - it won’t help me (I need to decide now because of another price increase of Enleum) but still it’ll be interesting :).
After extensively reviewing both, now, unless there was a problem with the unit we had here I would pick the oor pretty much every time, there are so many issues with the 23 it will be all detailed in the review keep an eye out it should be out soon But it drives SUS better than OOR but 0R is a far more balanced amplifier 23 sounds V shaped it’s weird all the mid range is kind of gone it sounds extremely flat and non-dynamic in the mid range
@@ConvinceMeAudio Wow, thank you for such a fast reply :). If my problem was similar to some other people had then the fix was to unplug everything and setup it again. I assume that during your testing you are doing something like that at least once so probably you were ok :). I tested both on LCD-4 (but only the first time so Enleum was not good), LCD-5 and Abyss 1266. I must say that at least during this short time Abyss sounded a bit better at 23R. It fixed the soundstage that on some tracks (that were recorded in large studios like orchestra) can be too big on 1266 (like my Cayin HA-300). LCD-5 also seemed a bit better but it was more to do with their detail and forward mids on Ferrum. LCD-4 on Oor were great though. I’m really looking forward to your review. Many reviewers are making a big hype for Enleum but the users themselves are more conservative about it. It seems that many (but not all) buyers of 23R are selling it after few weeks. The pricing on this is also quite off. Still there is something special to it. Maybe it’s the design, the build quality (Ferrum is nice but a bit rough - the most went into the sound I suppose) or the hype :D.
@@kamiltrocinski2163 Thank you, I appreciate it I will say the 23, sounds like no other amplifier I’ve heard period. The level of detail in the treble region is absolutely insane the base response is absolutely fantastic if the middle range was gon the same calibre as these other parts of the frequency response it would be permanently on my desk Mid range for me is more important than a lot of things otherwise my brain shuts down and just goes into analytical listening mode, which is fine on occasions but I like to be engaged with this song
How does Oor + Hypsos stack compares with Bliss? I’ve heard great things about these amps and really having a hard time deciding. I’m using Utopia 2022 and ZMF Atrium for my daily. Would love to hear your thoughts on this. Love your review!
Hi! I have a very hard time choosing between ferrum oor+hypsos or IFI ican pro signature. Really love them both. I will do mainly studio work, but for entertainment purpuses aswell. Could I ask you what would you recommend? Thank you!! 🙏
Ferrum stack is the better of the two but I think for studio work the icon is a little bit more accurate for that type of work OOR wandla stock is probably the best you’re going to get around the $6000 mark it’s amazing but I personally don’t think would want to use it for mastering mixing testing. It’s more for pleasure really But I think I would still choose this. It’s just better in every way
Thank you so much for so quick reply ❤ I was testing few amplifiers at my local store, using my RME ADI-2 Pro FS R as a DAC and I was left with a choise between those two. I just didnt have enough time to AB test them enough. The ferrum made the sound of RME even more detailed, rounded, more fuller, dynamic. It was my favourite from the beggining. But them I tried Ican, which was also great and I loved the vesatility of choosing between the tube modes and solid state. The xbass was also a nice feature. I will contact the store to test them again, but it's really nice to hear your opinion. Thank you!
@@ConvinceMeAudio I've tested Ferrum and Ifi for few hours and at the start it was difficult to choose between them, but them I've realised that for my purpuses - I need clean and transparent signal - Ifi added too much bass. Also instrument seperation and imiging was much better on Ferrum. Microdetail aswell. And with Ifi because of the harsh tremble it was quickly tiring my ear. On tube+ it was better, but then again you loose some detail. Ferrum has buterry smooth sound. I could listen it much quiter and still hear all the details. So thank you for your previous advice, it made me sure! I am ordering Oor + Hypsos next week 😃👍
So lowering the voltage will smooth out the sound a bit more and increasing voltage will make it more edgy? Like to know the differences so I can tailor the sound for each headphone. Thanks. *P.S. - Best Review
I saw a listing for a used one locally, but i only got the diana v2 (and a fun grado hp). What do you think of the synergy with the diana v2, or is it a no go zone?
Unfortunately those headphones were not around when that unit was here, and now it’s the other way around, 1266 is here but oor is gone If I was to hazard a guess, I would say nominal 24 V will be more than fine with TC And with PHII might drop it by 1 V because the treble region is rather spicy
@@ConvinceMeAudio Now I am using 22 volts supply to OOR from Hypsos for 1266 TC instead of 24 volts (default). The result for 22 volts is noticeably improved more bass and warm and also mid is better. I’m kind of like 22 volts for 1266TC( stock cable) and 26 volts for Susvara
Yes I did, and it just uses the medium gain pathway Yet it’s more musical than low or high sounds fricking awesome OOR in power amp Mode serene Dave m scaler lcd-5 has been one of my top three flagship chain I have ever heard
@@ConvinceMeAudio Did you not try LCD-5 out of Dave's headphone output? That's how I'm using it currently. My Dave has the upgraded power supplies from Farad though, so it sounds really excellent. I have an OOR on the way as well so I'll be able to compare.
@@velocetplus as a singular unit by its self, bypassing OOR obviously sorry I think there was some confusion in your first question Using stock, I wasn’t a fan it does not have enough current to drive planar I did not feel as though it did it justice, add quiet volumes. It was sufficient to get you by, I have the Dave coming back in in a couple of weeks, I think I want to revisit LCD5 anyways to put on the bliss so I will update this comment in a couple of weeks But that set up I mentioned was my favourite for LCD5
I don't know what it says about me that my first desktop setup was the RME ADI-2 DAC FS paired with the Cayin IHA-6 headphone amp. This stack of bricks however.... WILL MAKE A FINE ADDITION TO MY COLLECTION (Coughs like I am General Grievous from Star Wars)
HYPSOS is the linear power supply for the units, the units can work without this, but it does not have the power and current for LCD5 without it the switch mode power supply that comes with it is very basic I recommend watching the review
Where you are long time no see Very different mate completely different tonal balance far more power exceeding the dyn tremendously Two classes above it I think
