A few post-show notes: In the Ferrum Sound Impression I was feeding the amp an RCA unbalanced source off the Hugo TT2. When I switched to the unbalanced XLR input, I didn't need to turn the gain up on the amp, and the Ferrum sounds better without the high gain engaged. The Phonitor X is now listed in the Director's Garage Sale in the comments above. Asking only what I paid for it in November, comes with everything in the unboxing video. A Bakoon 13R was just listed on Head-Fi, but they're asking $5500. Too much for a used amp. The Ferrum is very interesting with the Abyss 1266 TC. Good pairing. The mids sounded better on first listen. Need more time though for a better assessment. The next episode WILL be shorter, I promise.

@@eskamobob8662 Not sure it’s worth a full episode. I need more listening time with it. Maybe as an update? Schedule has been tight lately. I also need to get these episodes under 20 minutes. No one watches when they’re long and they take way longer to edit. Kicking myself a little today.

Michael if you are chasing amp for Susvara imo you may look at Violectric V550 pro or their higher grade amp Niimbus US 5 pro

Awesome, yeah you need to use balanced to get the most out of Oor. I also found it to be amazing with 1266 TC, transforemed its tonality for me a lot. Also to squeeze the last few % from it place the Oor on the right side of Hypsos to get it away from the thoroidal transformer, not a huge change but a little tweak to sqeeze the last 3 to 5% :)

from my perspective you're too light fingers when it comes to purchasing ( in this amp segment ) i guess you already have too much amps in your garage, just saying to save a little of your cash flow, you don't need to spend thousands just to scratch your curiosity, people in headfi dont have amps like u did ( most of them are ) unless they have an offline store of audio gear 😁. while others just said what they want and throw you to the cliff for you spend money like waterfall they just enjoy watching 30 minutes out of your vids. what I'm saying is we don't need to pleasure every hearts coz you'll be in our heart for sure ( you'll be in my heart by phill collins )

Michael. On Solid State, the Benchmark AHB2 is the linear standard for Susvara. You just need a stepped attenuator or a pre and you'll be fine. I've tried the Bakoon, I may even know someone that is trying to sell theirs if you want to try it. I know someone in SoCal that may even let you try his. The Oor is a bit warmer, will give you more base and a fuller mid-range. I liked it. However, if you really want to drive it, you should really try and ampsandsound amp. I have the Nautilus to drive it. If you are going to CanJam in NYC let me know. Justin is located in SoCal as well, perhaps I can put you two together.

Wouldn't the name be pronounced Hips(oh)s? Like hypnosis? You don't say hype nosis. I can't say that I'm certain about this. Nowadays, people are misspelling and mispronouncing almost every word due to texting, autocorrect and shitty educations. It's not just an American phenomenon. It's happening across the EU as well. It may even be worldwide. The future's so bright 😎

Thanks for another great comparison Michael. I would recommend you try the wells audio stuff ( I have the upgraded milo with the susvara and it was end game for me). They might actually be local to you if you are in cali/San Jose area.
