Ferry To Boracay, We Were The Only Foreigners!

Travelling the Philippines on a budget can be quite difficult as it’s HUGE and transport options are limited. If you are backpacking like us and without a proper itinerary, you may have to book last minute flights which can be expensive!
We found a way of getting from Manila to Boracay Island for just 2,200 pesos (£30pp) on this 12 hour, overnight sleeper ferry. The vessel was called St Augustine of Hippo and we booked it through the company 2GO.

Ship boats advantages is you can roam around the place whereas airplanes you are just seating on the seat and out of the seat whenever you wanna go to the restroom

You should have stayed on the top with live band, don’t worry with drunk filipino, they are friendly 👍.. and you should have pulled that leg hanging from the top bed 😂😂

The one downside is there are no lockers but it did feel really safe to leave your non-valuable items at your bed 😊

That looks a lot more fun than taking the plane. And much cheaper too! Maybe you could go to Puerto Galera next time. It's less commercialized than Boracay. No beaches though, but good island hopping tour and snorkeling/diving spots.

@@TheBlagPackers If you're going to Cebu, here are some food places to check out: 1. Larsian - Filipino-style skewered meats. "Barbecue", so to speak. 2. Rico's or CnT - Lechon 3. Dimsum Break OR Harbour City - Steamed fried rice, actually rice with a saucy pork topping, really, really good, you won't find this outside of Cebu 4. Any "pungko-pungko" vendor (ask a local where the nearest ones are to where you're staying) - A variety of fried food items: hotdogs, pork belly, and "ginabot" (mesentery, a must-try, you won't regret it) 5. Sunburst Fried Chicken - They have a bunch of branches all over Cebu (the brand actually originated in Iligan City but it became very popular in Cebu)

Hey! We chose quite a quiet spot so didn’t notice any. BUT I’m sure if you get a bottom bunk it acts like a natural barrier for noise… failing that the noise of the engine will drown it out 😂 Thanks for watching!
