I was at Disney World all of last week and it was so good my family and I saw the show twice. It's been one of my favorite attractions for years. This reminds you of just how great Disney is.
Best show disney ever made. The vocals are incredible, the athletes are fantastic, the dancers are amazing... if this ever goes away it will be a sad sad day
It's amazing how they can perform this 4 times a day, every day and still do it with so much energy. I've seen it 3 times and they were always awesome.
So this is them in 2011? I saw them in 2014 with the same 4 main singers and they are twice as good! Nothing like experience. This is easily the best show on the park!!!!!!!
I've seen this show at Walt Disney World around 15 times which is kind of a lot when you live around a thousand miles away. But it's worth the traveling in the end. The Festival of the Lion King is honestly one of the best shows Disney has. It amazing. Then again in my opinion everything at Disney is. :-)
Saw this back in summer 2009!! Year I graduated High School!! Our High School Choir went to WDW to perform at Downtown Disney, and we were there a whole week with park hoppers and tickets to all the parks!! Teacher required us to all go as one big group to 1 musical, and we went to see Festival of Lion King!!!!! Was so happy, and pretty sure my eyes watered up too!! ^_^
Back in 03' when I was little, I was able to go on to the floor with most of the others, made me cry when I saw the pictures. I wish I could be able to go back and do it again, no deloreans yet :/
This is by far my favourite version of this show on youtube, the performers are amazing and i can recite everything they say and how they say it, the other videos just don't do it for me!
A lot of people compare it to either a warm soft pretzel or cookie, I love the smell! One of the reasons I love doing theatrical lighting! Hope to one day be rehired at Disney only as an Entertainment Tech this time (I was in rides and didnt have enough Show experience at the time so I left to get some haha) but for the time being I am working at a show in Pigeon Forge, TN to gain as much experience as I can!
That sweet smell is the Theatrical Haze, and low smoke effects, the fluids have a sweet smell to them and since FOTLK is a relatively small venue, the close proximity to the stage wherever you sit and they fill that place full of it to get the beam effects, you get the smell a lot stronger then say a bigger or outdoor venue, You might smell that same smell in Stitch's great escape (not the chillydog). Sorry I am a Theatrical Tech, I thought i would share that info in case you were wondering.
Any idea what the name of the song from 14:28 to 15:33 is? For a long time I thought it was probably something unique to this show...but then I started hearing a cover of it play a few times at some ritzy pizza & brewery restaurant I go to sometimes.
I am not sure the smell in Pirates, its not haze type smell but you are right it does smell good, Maybe it is something in the water? but usually water rides stink hahaha so maybe it is some other element. there arent many bad smells at disney other than one effect in Stitch's, Imagination, and Bug's Life but those are purposely. Personally my favorite is walking down mainstreet and smelling the bakery but i heard that is being turned into starbucks? all well I love the smell of coffee also!
me and my family went there and we said, "bye simba" and he shook his head yes to say bye! then we said, "bye pumba" and he waved bye! maybe you can do this too when you go there!
I had the unfortunate opportunity to sit in front of a group of rude women all they would say is "If this show isn't good I'm telling all my friends" but luckily they loved it when it finished.
This version is beautiful ,,but i think the version in Hong Kong Disney ,the story is more fluent~as it added the parts of fight of simba and his uncle and somehow it seems more reasonable haha~but i still love this version of adding so much action parts of the stuntment~this is excellent too!3
Out of curiosity, does anyone know if they got Matthew Broderick to reprise his role for this show? I want to say "no", since they definitely couldn't get Nathan Lane to reprise his role, but it's hard to tell.
ztslovebird I think they got him, because it's the same voice at the end of Spaceship earth and they both sound a lot like him. If not, they have a really good impressionist
