After this video I decided to sell all of my Festool equipment and invest it into DJ equipment to pursue my new love of house music. Thank you so much for nurturing my dreams I didn't even realize I had.
This as to be the most confusing video I've ever watched, for me the main tool here is the Souber dbb morticer as the video states Installing Mortise lock, it doesn't matter what drill you use, there's 3 lots of advertisements here, Hafele Mortise lock, Souber dbb morticer and the Festool drill and vacuum cleaner.
I agree Top cat , this is by far the most pointless video made for anyone of the tools presented. the souber dbb is the JIG that in conjunction with Any brand drill will give you a perfect mortise to fit your lock. the whole purpose of the Jig is not needing all that paraphernalia. the 20 minutes spent on the video I'm almost done framing and hanging the door.
The Chinese version of the mortising tool is about $40-50 US and is better in my opinion. Yes, I know your comment is 4 years old. This is for new viewers.
Hi, Do you use partial board for exterior doors there? I do not not think this would work for oak, rock maple doors. I think you are not being completely truthfull here.
@@paulrainford3861 That sounds practical. Have you used this method with reliable clesn results? I"ve only done such ops with multiple plunge router passes, which end up a little scary at full depth...
