I noticed that the table moves every time you use it. I was looking into the Festool table because I wanted something to take on jobs. However, there's another table (which I'd like to see a review of) called the Dash Board (I may have the name wrong) which seems to be really solid and can do all the basics the the Festool Table. Haven't made a decision yet, but I'll make my decision soon. Lots of money for theses things ...can't afford a mistake. Nice practical review. Thanks, it helps.
Recently bought the MFT 3 and have enjoyed using it. Pricey but worth the money in a small shop. Rethinking my process, I would put two together and perhaps eliminate the table saw altogether. What do you think?
you mention getting rid of one dedicated machine, do you think you can do without a table saw with this? I would love to get my table saw out of my garage.?? I am just a weekend worker..
As Always Rob, very concise and visually helpful video, i've watched 3 vids on Festool table, you're's was by far the best. with that said, i do not concur with you on justifying their pricing for what they give you. Festool makes a quality product , no argument, but so do Bosch and Makita at much more "sane" prices. Ive spoken to many tradesman on my projects and the consensus is the same, we'd all buy festool if they lowered their ridiculous prices, just my opinion.
Hi. I see plenty of reviews of Set up n use of mft 3 but could you expand on how the parts transport. Lots of bits and pieces that look easily lost and bent or broken putting in a van to job site etc. Does it come with a Systainer or bag etc to store during transit or will any of it actually fit in a Systainer or track bag/case. It looks like you have to pull off all the guides to transport without damage in work vehicles. Love your detailed reviews and hope you can help with my questions.
Now you know why everybody builds the Ron Paulk MFT style benches for a tiny fraction of what these crazy rich Germans at festering stool charge. Buy the UJK Parf Guide MKII drilling guide and make all the MFT tops you want with accuracy of a CNC for $224.00
A Concord Carpenter / ToolBoxBuzz Hi Rob. Hope you can direct me with a decision. I sold my Reaxx 900$ . Should I buy a table saw maybe the DeWalt 749 or SKIL SPT99-12 or should I buy festool HK 55 maybe hk 85 or should I buy a track saw festool or Makita. I never used a track saw . I use my SKIL 77 with a Bora fence all the time. I like the idea if the Festool 55 especially the 85, i can buy the festool table with guide ext for 400$ used locally. but if I needed to rip a 2x4 it seems only the table saw would handle that job safely. Like right now I need some oddball 2 foot sticks to hold drawers and cabinets graduating from eighth of an inch to an inch and a half circular saw to cut two by fours it's not very safe I have to cut down 2x8s... Anyway please recommend...
It's a good video as always Rob, here's the thing as I know you you've heard at nauseam about Festool, that table simply is not worth the money, there's no way to reconcile their prices. My partner has the Festool track saw, I have the Makita track saw, I achieve the same quality results as him for half the money using a quality system. Festool markets itself as vastly superior, their not.
No sir. Even when I "stop and think about the different functions that this table allows" I still raise my eyebrows at the price. Actually, while my eyebrows are raising, my eyes are rolling and I'm shaking my damned head. This table proves that there will always be people who will pay four times the price of a standard, quality product just because something else has a label that's been hyped. I will never buy anything Festool.
It is table that is part of a wider body of products such as the saw. Getting a saw with that level of clean cut that then can be used with a table like that is actually quite tough to buy.
I do not mind spending money in quality tools, hence Snap-On but even quality tools manufactures sale bad tools at times. You start you review by “A stable work bench is critical...” while reviewing the most “wobbly unstable” workbench on the market. Even with crossbars this table is wobbly! For the price this workbench is a travesty. Horrible one sided review... No disrespect intended 👍
I came here from looking into the Kreg ACS system, because the Festool guys comments on the Kreg systems’ RU-vid videos said the FT MFT 3 was superior. With the way it wobbles and the fact the top is made from the same material as the kKreg not to mention how much more in price a complete system including the saw costs tells me to keep looking at the Kreg. They ran down Kreg saw mostly because it has a lot of plastic on it well it looks like the FT saw is not much better the warranty on the FT is good so it is better that way, but it should be with the price it costs.
2011leoc That’s a fair comment but I know many many contractors so use these tables successfully including myself I have a small shop so having a small cross cutting station works great for me
