Let me know what you'd like me to cover in future videos on this saw and my transition to the Festool system!

I think really the biggest question is is it that much better all around then the Dewalt to justify the price
@MasonWoodshop
@MasonWoodshop 2 года назад
@@TKcustomWoodworks Absolutely! I'll also be sure to consider the typical sale price for the Dewalt, as it often goes on a decent sale.

I really appreciate the simple nature of the unboxing. I’ve watched lots of reviews on the saw but this was the first time I’ve seen the live pairing and activation of the Bluetooth system. I’m about to add this to my workshop and am now even more excited to get it connected up to my CT MIDI. Nicely done!

Just ordered mine, super excited about it! I already have 2 Festool tracks, the quick clamps, the push clamp and more. Not happy about it being my 2nd battery platform, but I think it will be fine. The compromise is worth the experience.

Very exciting! I feel the pain on battery platform I have many Dewalt 20V, and even a Bosch 12V.

Had mine six months now and it’s awesome. Things seem to get better when using it. Overall it’s a dream using this machine over the dewalt. Although saying that the dewalt I had wasn’t a bad saw at all.
@MasonWoodshop

Totally agree. The DeWalt a great saw, it just lacks in the many decades of refinements Festool has implemented.

Oh yeah! Any time I have to cut something I think if it’s doable on my DIY MFT table with the track saw.

Really cool can’t wait for the Dewalt festival comparison

The Dewalt has been a really nice saw and has worked really well with my Festool dust extractor.

Congrats! You'll love the saw. I went for the corded ts 55 feq; it uses the same blades as the cordless, which makes a huge difference. Two things I highly recommend you add are the 800mm/32" track and a pair of track clamps, be it festool, bessey or off brand. I use the bessey ratchet clamps; they're a bit cheaper than the festool clamps and have a slightly better clamp release (no gap to pinch your fingers). Like I said, the od1010 will be my next festool purchase, but I haven't fully decided if I want to splurge on the LR32 system. Looking forward to more videos!
@MasonWoodshop
@MasonWoodshop 2 года назад
Thanks! I still haven’t had much time with it, but I’m quite impressed. I have been looking at the Bessey ratcheting track clamps (look identical to Festool), and I think you’re right about the 800mm track. I never would have considered it before getting the saw, but I see a lot of value in having a shorter and more manageable track.

@NW - Fun follow-up, you were bang-on with the 800mm track being useful. I've been using the 1400mm all week and while it's awesome, it's a little annoying when I'm making much smaller cuts as I have to lean over it. The 800mm will be added soon!
@NWGR
@NWGR 2 года назад
@@MasonWoodshop Yep. It was literally the second time I used my TS55 that I knew I'd end up with the 800 track. I had to cut down some 27" shelves and the 1400 was way too cumbersome. This was an on-site job too, so space most definitely was working against me lol The 800 is easily my most used rail now. A nice perk of having it is that it can be linked to the 1400 to make crosscuts on 4' panels way less finicky since the 1400 on its own seems a hair too short to make the cut fully supported.

I’m so torn between the TSC 55 K and the TS 55 FEQ F. I have never had a track saw before and I’m not sure if have the riving knife or the anti kick back is better. What made you go the route you did?
@MasonWoodshop
@MasonWoodshop 2 года назад
@@hutchins4116 For me, it was going battery powered. The anti kick back on the TSC 55 K is amazing and I've actually encountered it a couple of times when I accidentally plunged before the blade was at full speed (my own fault). Before the TSC 55 K, I had the DeWalt 60V cordless tracksaw, which had both a riving knife and a different style of anti kick back mechanism (would grip the rail) and I much prefer the TSC 55 K.

The only thing you might miss from the DeWalt is the DW will run two directions on its track. Other than that your choice is a no brainer !
@MasonWoodshop
@MasonWoodshop 2 года назад
Great point on the DeWalt track. I had mine setup for 90 degree cuts on one side and 45 degrees on the other, so I didn't get to take full advantage of the two direction option (in hindsight I would jave just done both at 90 degrees to have that flexibility).

Get the remote for the end of the hose... you'll wonder what the bluetooth button on the remote could ever be for... first time you pair your saw from 10' away, make a cut, then disconnect the hose and turn it on to clean up around your cut you'll not be able to grin and wonder how you survived without the (expensive) accessory.

Oh yes, I got the Bluetooth remote about a week after getting the vac. I couldn’t imagine not having ir!

I have both and I prefer the DeWalt, by far. It has a lot more power and it's just as accurate.

I'm not familiar with other tracksaws. I'm sure they're also very good. I've been using Festool since 2009. One was stolen. One still in very great condition. Battery powered saw is just soon amazing. All the best.

I was able to get mine through Lee Valley here in Canada. Back ordered early July and at the time, it was expected to arrive late July, which then slipped to late August. Then it magically arrived much earlier.

Lmao!! "I was fondling it last night!" New tools is always fun. I always refer to Festool as a Ferarri compared to a regular decent car. Congrats on your new Ferarri. I don`t really understand the big deal about the systainers given thier price. Just seems like an overpriced plastic box to me. What am i missing?
@MasonWoodshop
@MasonWoodshop 2 года назад
Haha, thanks!! As far as the Systainers, I do agree that they are overpriced, although it is handy that they don’t just house the tool, but also many of the optional accessories for that tool (everything in one place). I think the stack-ability was one of the initial draws to them, but now most other tool brands have that as well.
