This (silent) video illustrates the fetch decode execute cycle. A simplified view of the CPU focusses on the role of the accumulator register when a program runs. For simplicity, the machine code commands being executed are represented by assembly language code. This assembly language code uses commands from the Little Man Computer instruction set.

Thank you for this tutorial. You keep it simple and clear. I like it that way. What does STA mean? Does it mean "Store Accummulator" sum?

Hi Pink Lady. Thanks for the comment. Simple is clear is what I'm trying to do. :) STA means 'take whatever is in the accumulator and store it in the RAM. My more detailed version of this video has narration. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jFDMZpkUWCw.html. Kevin Drumm you are doing a great job. I learn fast by watching visual demonstrations, which are infinitely better than boring longwinded textbooks. I am few months learning computer science which I am starting as a hobby until I ever decide to make a career out of it. I started by first reading vintage books on programming languages such as COBOL, Pascal, etc, those at Open Library and Internet Archive. I skim read them by 50% - 75% Then I got onto C and C++. After that, assembly languages and finally electronics. I am few weeks learning electronics, learning much from the EveryCircuit tutorials here in RU-vid. EveryCircuit is an app for Android, iPad and Google Chrome. It does great circuit simulations and that helps me understand electronics better. If you are ever seeking graphic/art softwares for your future works, check out Inkscape. That is a free open source software, best free alternative to Adobe Illustrator. I use that a lot for vector animation. If you are new to Inkscape, see tutorials by Derek Banas. If you ever want art software for realistic pens, pencils, erasers, etc, check out MyPaint. That is another free open source software. It is a light weight, easily learned within few days. I most use MyPaint for pencilled sketches and writing.

I'm afraid not. I made it a few years ago to be used in the classroom. This might be useful to you ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jFDMZpkUWCw.html :)KD
