Great you got the shed done and can get another video out. I'm still looking for a globe and cap for my Feuerhand 175 Super Baby. I checked TEMU for something with a small globe, but nothing that size so far. I am planning on Jacktown in about 10 days, hope you can make it.
Hi Ken- What a fantastic video- first off the picture clarity and lighting was amazing and as always your “cameraman” was on point! The knock off lanterns have very slight variations from the original and I wonder what real world issues they might have. I wonder if you can find the culprit that is retarding the performance. I also would love to see a wind test- Set up both lanterns and get out the leaf blower and see what lanterns can withstand gusts from 20 feet 10 feet…. Awesome! 😃👍
Great idea to do a wind test I forgot about that but will put it to the test and also ordered another in army green color because I really liked the color 👍
Yes a fantastic vid on comparison of a real Feuerhand lantern & a Temu knock off firehand lantern , the knock off Chinese lanterns don’t burn as good as a real lantern. Love those beer coasters that your son made!🙂👍 Yes weather is getting nicer to light some lanterns!🙂🙂
@lotsatrains I got the TEMU FireHand Lantern a couple of weeks ago. Works OK. Yesterday I got my Genuine FeuerHand Lantern. Both in Olive Green. I also noticed the fact the Fire Hand is counterfeit. "MODEL IN W,GERMANY" on the label, body and globe… and "MADE IN CHINA' underneath. But the price was really cheap. Last night I ran both lanterns side by side to test the light and flame quality in the dark. I couldn't see a difference at all. Ran both for about 9 hours. The flame quality deteriorated after about 6 hours on both lanterns and the wicks needed trimming again. I too noticed the Chinese lantern has O-rings at the fuel entrance and the burner and the genuine lantern doesn't. I won't be tossing the Chinese knock-off out unless it starts to fail. Until then, both are good to go. In which case I will salvage the globe and anything else I can keep as spare parts. I also got a genuine spare FeuerHand globe in case of breakage. Yes the knock off lantern actually is pretty good for the price and I think worth it especially since I can’t even buy the globe for the genuine lantern for the price of the whole Chinese lantern and have been using mine for about an hour each for the last couple of nights and so far no problems 👍
@@lotsatrains I got my Genuine Feuerhand Lantern and also ordered and a spare genuine Feuerhand globe in case of breakage. My Feuerhand globe was only half the price of the TEMU Chinese knockoff lantern.
Wow will have to keep an eye out for that on these but so far only used them for about an hour and they are fine other than not as bright as the original.
Greetings! Great review on these lanterns. I just ordered two of the Silver ones via your link. These look like beautiful little lanterns, which I’ll likely use on in my wildlife blind when conducting nighttime wildlife observations, and likely in my grill tent/enclosure when sitting out next to my smoker overnight. Any issues with leaking? Seems to be an issue with a lot of people… which I suspect is primarily a result of them over filling their lanterns. If they’re built fairly well, and perform decently, I’ll be quite satisfied with them. These would be great for camping trips also, and I can leave my Dietz & Feuerhand lanterns at home. I appreciate the review, and link to these lanterns. I let you know how I like them. Best wishes… Aho!
Hi there I have had two of these lanterns filled about half way for over a week now and no problems with any leaks whatsoever and I do believe they take a 1/2 inch or 12.5 mm wick.
@@lotsatrains Thank you very much. I alway have some JB Weld on hand just in case it’s needed. I am quite sure most of the cases where people complain about leakage, are because they over fill their lanterns. I may pick up some of the larger 12” (?) versions to use with tiki oil in the backyard to keep mosquitoes at bay. And you know, these little lanterns would make nice gifts for people also… 😉
I had an idea about making the railroad headlamp. What about using a work out of a kerosene heater? I will have to make some sort of a adjustment screw. That's just an idea

Hey Ken. Great in-depth comparison. I was curious how the burner seats in the imitation. I noticed on my Chinese lantern, the burner doesn’t seat firmly inside the cup. Looseness is noticeable when adjusting the flame. They include an o-ring and it doesn’t seem to help. Just wondering if this is the same issue, as you stated some looseness at 09:00? Anyway , I agree it performs well enough for the casual user. Thanks for sharing.
