Never heard of them ...until this Glastonbury performance. Fever Ray is easily the best thing I have ever seen, heard or experienced. Every song they did was powerfully mesmerising to watch. So easy to fall deeply in love with their music and visual performance. It's like being entranced by some brilliant magical force! They are a genius awesome unique creation.
Just spent the day checking out their previous incarnation - The knife ..... O M G ....my head is doing cartwheels. So glad to have found them ....but so bloody annoyed to be so late to have missed this particular party! ☺
Karin is one of my greatest musical loves. The Knife in my mind are the greatest band of the last 20 years. Fever Ray scratches that itch while creating something similar but completely new
I saw Fever Ray at Glastonbury and honestly knew nothing about them beforehand other than they did the Viking intro song. They blew me and my friend away and we both agreed it was the best show of the festival👍🏻
Wait until you find out about the Knife (her and her brother). The Dreijer family are royalty when it comes to Electronic music. I can bet my right hand this song is produced by her brother Olof. He’s bloody brilliant.
Karin Dreijer amazing as *always*. I saw one of their first ever shows (Their second i think) at the Arvika festival in Sweden many, many years ago. Still incredible.
Most of this is backing track and sequenced samples - aside from the vocalists there's someone adding percussion and then a keys player (who is using some sort of wind midi controller by the looks of it) and there's a lot more going on musically than just that. It's common practice especially with electronic genres, however using them is by no means the marker of a 'good' or 'bad' live act or performance!
I took this as an attack on Bill Nomates, who stripped down her live show to just her and a backing track and took a lot of awful abuse for it, and I think a lot of folks really don't understand what a live performance really is. The other comment does a good job of explaining it, but to echo: yes, most of this IS a backing track. Most of the "full bands" you see are often using live click tracks too.
this is the 3rd tour in the life of Fever Ray (of almost what? 15 years?), Im so excited to see her in Corona Capital Mexico and i'm wishing hear something of Karin if it's not too much to ask...
They were here a few weeks ago. I know, because I reminded my self to go on their mailing list in case of a world tour. But I forgot. About a month later, I then checked them out again on youtube to find that they had just been here!
Didn't see any of her set over the weekend, I think the Beeb gave TOO much coverage to other artists. Great clip!! I've loved Fever Ray since her incredible debut album!
Song is absolutely great and mesmerizing but the visual performance, also in the official music video, is just over the top…nuts. This isn’t art anymore but pre-insanity. Such a shame.
Beatle Juice on stage for a limited time! Accompanied by a thick cast. LOL. Music is awesome though. Although, much rather listen than watch! To 'euro' crazy for my weak heart.
First of all, I would never ask anyone to text while driving. All Mike (and every driver before him) was doing was texting me before he said after he that got me police officer left a prize prize happy emoji shart. That’s it.
@@adamwright4135it's nothing to do with age...I'm a 65 year old granddad and I've watched the whole set twice on BBC iPlayer. It was the best thing at Glsstonbury.
