Anyone else getting Depeche Mode vibes from this song? I'd love to hear Dave Gahan cover it, or duet with Karin, like his "Ocean" collaboration with Goldfrapp. Love the new album, and "North" is simply gorgeous -- can't stop listening to it 🫀🫀🫀🫀
This one is so beautiful and vulnerable. I love that they are mentioning bell hooks All About Love in interviews about this album - I LOVE that book it I read it over and over and when bell died we lost a very wise woman - I wish everyone would read all of her books. This album is beautiful and touching. I am a 42 year old mother and this whole album feels so great in my life right now - I know what I'll be listening to all spring THANK YOU
@Silver Zero I hope I didn't sound chastising. I just wanted folks who don't know the production credits for this song to know that Atticus was also involved. The first source I read only mentioned Atticus, so I had no idea Trent was involved until I read full credit elsewhere 🙂
@@amandailborn it's an interesting question though, i mean hasn't Karen almost always collaborated? And there's always a touring band - when I saw them a few months ago, they had a synth/keyboards/music director, a drummer, and both backup/harmonizing singers with Karen
@@secretmainstream8089 ’’It's a common misperception This is not a band Ready for a dissection Now Mommy's gotta work, see the land’’ Fever Ray (WHAT they Called us)....😉. She doesn’t like being singular on stage and even as persona, she’s into the ’’they’’ thing ...
I think this is simply the best of the entire album... goosebumps, dear God. Thank you so much for existing and releasing such gem. A warm embrace from Italy
Getting Nine Inch Nails involved was a great idea. Sounds like something that could have been on the first album, because it has that darkness. Sounds a bit like Depeche Mode. Really like it
Wow this one is really growing on me. When she rolls that hook in it is intensely chilling. Major goosebumps. All the sounds going on will definitely smear on the average sound system. Was able to play it loud on a nice hifi system. Absolutely mind blowing.
Amazing!! Brings me back to the first album with the Knifes edge! but hearing some of the harder stuff like "Get Back" beautiful unique animal. I couldn't get Into the second album aside from some of the electronica. This is going to be huge and is my 2023 fav. Don't care what else comes out. I saw Fever Ray in 2009 at The Great Escape (Brighton Dome) top 5 gigs in many 100s from Fugazi, Modest Mouse, Misfits, Sonic Youth, Makeup, so different but has such a unique power. I like the themes around sexuality, lust & revenge. Gritty, emotional, Haunting and seductive. So glad you are back making incredible music. 🧡
I know NIN had an input on this, but for me this is when Karin really pulls it out of the bag and shows genius - could easily have been on the first album also.
Its the expression that made me fall in love💖 I watched concerts... The expression... I love how you have, not only lyrical, or musical expression... Visual has me too💖 I love u Ray😍... everybody💖
I love your work, Karin. I gave a vinyl of myself to one of your technicians called "Claroscuro" when you played in Warsaw, Poland. I hope that you received it! Hugs!
